  1. I think I'm just going to leave them as is...my cocktail party is scheduled for 6-7 and I was told the sun sets in June around 7:30, so I don't think anyone would really notice whether it was lit or not?
  2. I think it will be fine. Obviously it was windy in her pic, but I think if you just don't give it too much slack to fly around it should be fine? That's what I'm hoping! I just ordered white and orange lanterns from Asian ideas! They were on sale for $1.25!
  3. I wanted to show you ladies my inspiration for using lanterns at my cocktail party at the Pandero...this picture is from a previous ASP bride (I believe from this site)
  4. Thanks!! I have a TA, and am sooo happy I do. She worked with the resort and had a contract drawn stating the group benefits I will receive, as well as information on the $750-1500 resort credit that we will receive upon arrival. I was told by Yesenia that if you are working with a TA you MUST have that contract set up between the travel agent and the resort in order to ensure you receive the group benefits (free cocktail party, nights, private events, etc.).
  5. A mixture of white and orange or all orange lanterns?? and PS..did you get yours from save-on-crafts?? Because right now they are out of them!! They are 1.99 for a 12" lantern, but its saying they aren't available :oP
  6. WOW...$400...that's crazy. Where did you find yours at for $15 a strand?
  7. Skadow, are you doing all white, your colors or a mix?? My girls are all wearing a "glacier" blue color, so orange is my accent color. I was thinking of either doing all white, all orange or a mixture of the two. What do you think?
  8. That's true, they do fold flat. As far as decorations go, I only need to pack orange satin sashes for the chairs, the aisle runner and small vases for my girl's bouquets (unless the resort will let me use 5!?) -- their flowers are going to be my centerpieces for the dinner, I'm keeping it simple. The big thing is the OOT bags and contents. Honestly....I had Dulce as a WC who never answered me for anything....I haven't been told that Wilma is my new WC like most of you have!? Is Dulce gone officially?? Maybe I should email Wilma?? I haven't reserved anything yet because I've never been answered!

This is what I plan on doing, so I'm hoping that works out!?! I'm starting to worry about the amount of things I have to take down!! I have seen pictures of someone who hung white paper lanterns from the pandero terrace for the cocktail party and it looked really nice. I was planning on doing that, but now I'm wondering if its really worth trying to find a place to pack them??? What do you think? It really would be the only decoration that I'll have for the cocktail party...
  10. Ahh I know :oP I guess I should forget about bringing paper laterns for the pandero terrace?
  11. Honestly, I'm almost positive I'm ordering a plain runner from save-on-crafts.com -- they have a 50ft one for 8.99!!! and longer lengths starting at just $14 -- and getting an image on there myself. I'm not sure if i'll be transfering it myself or if I'll be able to find a screen printing company that can do it. But if you buy one personalized for you they cost at least $80! I can keep you posted!!
  12. Hey girls!! Does anyone happen to know what size runner you would need for the gazebo if you were bringing your own? I am considering bringing my own personalized runner, but I'm not sure whether to purchase a 50', 75' or 100'. I didn't want to buy the larger if it would be a waste. Thanks!!
  13. I booked him for our June 25, 2011 wedding. Josie, I would LOVE to see some of his work when you return from your wedding!! Please share with us here!! )
  14. OMG!!! Girls!!!!!!!! Our resort was on Say Yes to the Dress last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm watching the recording on my DVR right now, and that is definitely it!!! Look for the episode Say Yes to they Dress: Big Bliss - "A Wrench in the Works" and it is in the last 5 minutes of the show. I'm sitting here with my FI and they show the gazebo, and I'm thinking "wow that looks really familiar..then they show her in the room and I go "omg..wait...I think that's our resort"...and then they show the outside again and it was definitely it! haha, check it out! )
  15. I have heard that there is a Walmart in Play Del Carmen that you can pick up snacks from when you get down there?? That might be nice to do. I want to do snacks, but I don't know how that would fair with the flight and customs?? Do they allow that?
  16. Ahhh Nicole!!!! I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are so excited for you!! Have fun at your Bachlorette party, and good luck at your final fitting!! These next two weeks are going to fly!! I look forward to your planning thread, and of course, the pics and stories when you return!!
  17. This is why I am just going to use my girls' bouquets for the centerpieces (and maybe add a colorful runner). I am already going to be taking my stuff down for the OOT bags in extra suitcases (spread among our parents and us). I want to keep it simple.

I'm trying to limit the amount of things I'm taking down, since I'm already taking down all of the stuff to assemble my OOT bags down there!! I'm going to give my girls their bouquets before we leave so that each of them can be in charge of taking their own. I really think people wouldn't notice whether you have a lot of decoration on the tables or not, I mean...look where they will be!!! ) The sea is decoration enough! haha I'm probably just going to do a colorful runner and have the girls' bouquets in vases on the tables. Does anyone know how big the runners should be?? We are going to be in one of the restaurants (probably the steakhouse) and I don't think there is anything wrong with your flowers differing from the girls!
  19. Girls, check these out!! I'm curious to see how these would work out, but they're cheap enough just to buy and try! http://www.prettycleverdecor.com/servlet/the-9355/Flat-Plastic-Vase-Centerpiece/Detail
  20. Thanks for the plastic vase idea! I'm going to have my bridesmaid's place their boquets in plastic vases on the table when we get to the reception so that I don't have to create extra flower pieces to travel with!
