  1. Alisa What time are you planning on having yours at?? That is what I'm not sure about..do we do it at a time that we can still do dinner after?
  2. Very nice! Our reception is actually 1 week after we get back from Mexico -- yes, I might be crazy haha. I'm really looking forward having a full reception with ALL of my friends and family!! I honestly did think at first from time to time how much cheaper it would have been to just have something informal, but them I remind myself that this is my ONLY wedding celebration, so I want to make it everything I have ever hoped for!
  3. I'm excited to have our cocktail party there!! My FI and I actually just decided to take away the free cocktail party originally placed between the ceremony and dinner and move it to Thursday night for a welcome cocktail party. We think this would be more enjoyable for our guests!!
  4. I received a Private Events PDF file today that was updated from the last one I received....There are definitely more locations on this one than the previous one I had. Not sure if you all have this updated version or not!? Private Events Spa_Cove JSAV.pdf
  5. I think we are just going to bring our own iPod player. We have a hard time justifying paying the amount of money they want for a speaker and cord. I've heard other people on the forum say they've brought their own and it worked out fine.
  6. I may be interested. I will PM you after I know for sure! If I do, my order would be $60 worth.
  7. Jacqui: Maggie has a "loaner" program where if stores don't carry the dress you want to try, you can pay $50 to have a sample sent to the store of your choice! The store has to call in and see if that gown is part of the loaner program and then they can order it in. I had to do this for mine! The store had me pay $50 upfront loaner cost and then credited it towards the cost of my dress when I ordered it!
  8. Same!!! I'm getting the best of both worlds. Neither me or my FI could imagine getting married anywhere but where we are, but we also want to celebrate with everyone. My reception will be as if we just left the wedding. The guests are going to see video/pictures from the wedding ceremony and then we are coming in and being introduced. We are having butlered hors'dourves followed by a sit-down appetizer, salad and entree!
  9. Steph Was it a far walk for your guests to go from the Tulum Gazebo to the restaurant on the Cove side?? I was concerned about that, but I am having my cocktail party at the Pandero Terrace and I believe that is in between??
  10. Steph, your wedding got me so excited!!!! ) thanks for sharing your pictures! I think I will be definitely do Mundaca for dinner. I love that the marianci band played so you could dance!!
  11. Ok ladies...I'm sure these have been answered a million times :oP But now that I have Wilma emailing me, I was going to choose locations for our events. I'm trying to get an idea of how close certain things are and which places are the best...so here we go: Wedding -- My FI's only real request was to see me pull up in the horse and carriage. I wanted to know if there was one Gazebo this is better situated for the horse and carriage to come closer than the other? I know at least one of them drops you off quite a distance away. Cocktail Party -- We know we want the Pandero Terrace for our cocktail reception, but it's not on the resort map (not that I can find anyway!?) Can anyone tell me where this is in relation to either gazebo? Dinner -- Because we are having an AHR, and we can't really afford a private dinner, we are going to be having our reception in one of the restaurants. I was wondering if anyone could recommend one that they think would be the best and/or most private? I though I was going to go with the Mundaca steak house because I believe there is a terrace outside that we could request to be on to make it a little bit more private, but now I'm not sure? My choices are El Greco, Momo no hana, Ventanas or Mundaca. I'm ruling out Momo no hana..but I don't know anything about the others. Thanks for your help in advance!!
  12. After pricing designers that I LOVED, I just couldn't bring myself to spend $200 for 25 invites. I ended up spending less than $1.50 a piece to do it myself.
  13. I agree. I ultimately bought Aylee's design because of the background and the cover design. Either way you do it, they really aren't hard to do yourself. It just takes a little creativity and a bit of time to construct everything )
  14. Yeah I guess that would be your choice. I have about 4 different templates from users on here and ended up buying Aylee's template and was much happier. It's all in your preference I think! I definitely thought the $10 was worth it.
  15. Alisa, yay!!! I love having a TA ) I just emailed Wilma today to ask her if she is going to be my WC!?! I haven't heard anything from anyone but Yesenia, so I look forward to finding out for sure! How long are you staying at ASP? I'm coming on the 22nd..but you'll probably be gone by then??
  16. I agree, I tried on the Ireland and it did absolutely nothing for me!!
  17. I love the detail on the Claire! I'm not sure what they each looked like on you, but my vote just seeing the two dresses is definitely Claire!!
  18. I would say type it up in Word and copy it over?? The just insert the pictures where you want them after. There is a button that looks like a picture frame that you use to insert pics! My mom already has her DVR set for the show too!! haha she's excited to watch it...it's in the last 5 minutes of the show...and don't get discouraged when they show it pouring rain!! 10 days til you leave!! ahh!!! )
  19. and omg Sara..I just looked at your wedding site and read your proposal story...SO ADORABLE!!!!
  20. Girls, do any of you know what the cost of a room upgrade is with the $1500 vacation dollars? My parents are looking to upgrade to an oceanview room and are wondering how much it would be.
