That does help, thank you! We will have to weigh our options and see...I know that there are other places that offer it, but of course then you don't get it for free. Did you have your cocktail hour at the Pandero Terrace? That is where we are planning to have our welcome cocktail party. We purchased paper lanterns to hang from the terrace, I hope that works out ok with the wind. I have seen others do it in the past. So you suggest doing the trio over the docking station if we are at the terrace? -

Erika Two things... (1) is the flower in your hair the one you can buy fresh from them? Because it's beautiful!! (2) was the dolphin swim experience as bad as it seems? this is one thing my FI and were really looking forward to, and now I am starting to think maybe we should just do it privately on our own? We definitely want pictures...was the only option really $250?? -

Yep! -
I purchased the cover cardstock from JoAnn's. I actually just bought precut "cards" that included envelopes, and cut just a little off width for it to be the perfect size! You can find them near the scrapbooking section in the card making isle. They have all different colors and the evelopes fit everything perfectly! The printer paper was just a nicer quality from Staples.

Amanda We are going to order Maracas from amols.com (http://www.amols.com/catalog/product/MX702). They are $1.65 for a pair and they have a simple design and say "mexico" on them. We are going to give one per guest, and they'll have a tag on them that says "Instead of tapping on your glass, here's a system with Mexican class... stand and shake with all your might, to see the groom kiss his bride tonight!" This could be a more economical idea for you to think about that involves a little "flare" from Mexico?

Do any of my guests know what RSVP Means (Venting)

This was started awhile ago, but I feel the same!!!! I sent out 30 invites (only inviting close family and bridal party) and have only received like 6 back. Even the people who have booked haven't sent back a response!!! I have received 3 yes's and 3 no's....seriously!?! lol -
Etiquette - Is it proper?
jszy10 replied to bmadzia1's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Ok. I don't think it's rude, but I do think it could be worded a bit better!? Maybe instead of coming right out and stating that they are paying the tip, maybe stating it in a way that asks them for a "donation to the ceremony" or a "donation to your dream wedding"...something along those lines. Here is a possible update to what you had (I really hope you don't take offense!!! I just know it is helpful to hear some sort of suggestions, even if you don't end up using them!) "As you may know, (FI's name) and I have lived together for quite some time, and have since gathered everything we need to begin our lives as husband and wife. Because of this, we have decided not to create a bridal registry and will not be having a bridal shower. Instead, we are kindly asking guests who would like to give a gift to make a cash donation to help us in having the wedding of our dreams!" If you would like to have information about exactly how much, you could add after "Just a small gift of $15 a person would truly help us with the cost of...." What do you think!? -

Bridal Shower - Yes or No?
jszy10 replied to Willow188's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am most likely only have about 20 people at my DW, and I am definitely having a shower. Are you having an AHR? Regardless of how/when/where, you are still getting married!! I believe a shower is a reason for all of the important ladies in your life to get together and celebrate your upcoming wedding, so go for it girl! I wouldn't feel bad. -
Its hard to say without REALLY knowing your feelings and/or your family, but I think maybe it would just be nice to have the blessing in your gram's room at the home and invite your other grandparents along. That way you are doing something intimate for both of your grandparents, and celebrating with everyone else at the AHR. The way that I look at it --- I am having a DW to avoid the whole "150+ people watching us in the front of a church" this, which is what neither of us wants. So I guess you would just need to decide whether this is how YOU feel or not.

Just an online store -- http://www.amols.com/catalog/product/MX700 . The medium are what I'm ordering, but they are on back order at the moment. Also, if you email them and tell them that you want specific colors, they will do that for you! I am ordering 1/2 glacier blue and 1/2 orange (they do have some colors that aren't shown -- orange, pink, etc.).
-
I haven't bought them yet, but I'm definitely buying the from Amols. They have large and medium sizes -- I'm going to buy the medium. I think they come out to 1.65 a pair with the medium -- 1.95 a pair with the large). They have a nice design and say Mexico on them. I'm going to give 1 per guest. http://www.amols.com/catalog/product/MX700

Taryn: If your looking for some ideas, I am just doing orange chair sashes on the end chairs and a personalized aisle runner for my aisle decoration. I love the idea of keeping it simple too. MRR16: When in June are you planning your visit? I will be getting married June 25. -
Caroline I am almost positive that they will not allow him onto the Spa side, BUT what is nice about the Spa Palace is that the Cove Palace is right next door and the Cove Palace is family friendly! You would just have to make sure all of your wedding events were on the Cove side, which isn't hard to do. Everything is within walking distance no matter where everyone stays. I don't have any children coming but I am still having my ceremony and reception dinner on the Cove side just because I like the locations better! If you love the idea of being at an Adult-only resort and still want to have your brother included, this is the best of both worlds! I hope this helps!?
