ummm I believe the one I bought was 100ft, but Wilma said the aisle itself is around 41 x 6.3 feet. I already helped Shalanda (sgray) make hers, I just can't remember how far down we went with the design!! We are going to be working on mine soon! -

I am doing the complimentary package and am doing orange satin chair sashes (maybe with a starfish) on the outside chairs and then trading in my "free bouquet" for flowers on the alter. That is all I'm doing for the ceremony. Oh! and I'm making my own personalized runner. -
I honestly do think that the minor breakdown I had about it really showed him how much it means to be that he be involved a little bit. Since then he has been a bit more receptive to hearing about things and giving his opinion. He went and registered with me this past weekend without me even really asking!

Hey girls!! I was curious if any of you paid for live music (ie. trio, mariachi) for your cocktail party and if you thought it was worth it? I am having my cocktail party as a welcome party on Thursday night and am trying to decide whether or not we should spring the extra money for the trio. I have toyed with the idea of just bringing an Ipod doc and saving the money, but I'm just not sure what I want to do. We are having our cocktail party at the Pandero Terrace. Any advice would be great!! -

Ok! I never took the time to really look into any of the other private event locations because it was like I saw the setup for the Pandero Terrace from another bride and I knew I wanted mine there! Are you doing any kind of music for it?? I'm flip flopping with the idea of hiring the mexican trio for mine. I'm going to ask the girls on the ASP forum their opinion on if its worth it money-wise. -

I'm sorry, I wish I had advice for any of those things, but my resort has a Videographer, I'm not having a DJ, my sister-in-law is doing my hair and makeup and I am doing my own flowers. Have you thought about DIY flowers? They were important for me because I am also having an AHR when I get home and I wasn't interested in paying for real flowers twice :oP I heard there is a guy named Fernando that is amazing at hair and makeup! Search the forum for him and you'll get some good info (start out by just searching "Fernando". When are you going on a site visit!? I would definitely just take the time to look around the whole resort and take plenty of pictures of the different location options. Definitely plan a meeting with the WC, she will be able to tell you all of the decisions you will have to make! -
I would definitely go HP or even Kodak. I had a Kodak and did my Passport Invite covers with metallic cardstock and everything worked perfectly. I haven't yet mastered the picture printing yet, but I also printed the inside page of my passport invites on the "best" setting that had pictures on them and I think they also turned out great. Very user friendly as well. HP has a comparable printer to the one I have, and I believe both you should be able to get for under $125 or close to it. If you want to see pictures of how my printer quality is, you can check out my passport invites -- http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/63119/my-diy-passport-invites . Hope that helps!?! Oh also, if you have a laptop, definitely get the printer with WIFI...I don't know what I'd do without it!!

disposable cameras - yes or no?

I am just going to do the Photoshare cards. But if you wanted them to do scavenger hunt game, I think you could put a cute card in the OOT bag -- kind of like a "Wedding Day Scavenger Hunt" checklist. I think that would be cute! -
Thanks!! I actually used a card making glue from JoAnn's to glue the seems together. Looking back I'm not sure I should have done that. I struggled a lot with pages sticking to each other (or not sticking at all). My mom showed it off to a lot of people after she received it and ended up having to staple the seem to keep everything together. Looking at hers this way, I probably should have just done this. I really just wanted it to look as seemless and perfect as possible. :oP I thought staples would take away from that. As far as the rounded edges, I purchased a corner rounder punch from JoAnns! I just put each corner in the punch and that was that! Good luck!!!

Aww I think you are so right! Regardless of how much or how little you do, the backdrop and the people make it all! I love planning, so that's why I am so ahead of the game and doing so much, but I wouldn't trade my DW for the world because of the amount of pressure/stress I DONT have! -

I'm only wearing 1-2" heels, because my FI is only a few inches taller than me. My bridesmaids will be about the same -- maybe 2-3". -

Sure! I'm emailing it now! If it makes you feel any better, she usually takes a little over a week to answer my emails. I sent her my requests on the 16th and am still waiting for a response. -

I only have 8 bags to make too! I bought a lot ahead of time, thinking I'd have more people, so I was lucky to be able to take quite a bit back. Here's my list!! What's Done? - My dress! My first fitting will most likely be in February - My jewelry and underwear - My shoes (although I am thinking about changing them) - BM dresses (having a very hard time deciding on shoes -- orange and white tiger lilies for the flowers and aqua colored dress...suggestions welcome!) ) Are orange heels to bold!? - Groomsmen outfits - BM gifts - Mother's gifts - Father's gift - OOT Bags and most of their contents (still looking for cheap spanish for dummies books!?) - Wedding day schedule/spa appointments - Morning fishing trip booked for groomsmen/fathers - Wedding rings (mine still needs sized) - Toasting flutes - Photo guestbook - Photographer (Octavio Montes) - Wedding resort extras (harpist for the ceremony, horse and carriage entrance, videographer) - Reception location - Hair/makeup by sister-in-law - AHR location, DJ, cake baker, and photographer Still to do: - something old, something borrowed!?! (I have no idea what to do for this...I have the new and the blue) - Groomsmen gifts (we are trying to find those flask fliplops!) - Garter - Groom's linen suit - Flowers (all DIY) - AHR invites - Destination favors (thinking about finding a bakery in Mexico to get Mexican Wedding Cookies) - DIY Fan Program - Order chair sashes - Decide about a sand ceremony - DIY place cards (for both destination and AHR) - AHR decor (vases and most flowers bought) Wow...that actually helped a lot! ) I'm sure I forgot some things...but this looks like pretty much it! -
Hey hun! Which Adorae are you looking for? If it is the one shoulder one, I have a maggie sottero that might be similar to it? Not sure if it would be your taste, but I just know that once I found sottero's dresses, I didn't really find any I didn't love ) I'm getting married in the end of June, so it would be available for you. I am 5'4. The dress is Maggie's Leoni -- http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=leoni&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=15&style=A3311LU

Any Mathematicians out there??!!!..Please Help!!!!
jszy10 replied to Dreamgirl08's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I definitely agree! The idea of someones house or even a church hall would save you a bundle, and you could use all of the saved money on a nice cake and great food/desserts of your own choice!? -

Ok, working in the restaurant business from time to time may have helped me with this ) You have to multiply the tax and gratuity seperately because you cannot tax gratuity and you can't get gratuity from tax (if that makes ANY sense!?!) Hope this helps!? These are the numbers I came up with: 25 people -- $593.75 + 41.56 (tax) + 118.75 (gratuity) = $754.06 35 people -- 831.25 + 58.19 (tax) + 166.25 (gratuity) = $1055.69 I think it is AMAZING of you to host something like this and I think she will appreciate and understand whatever you can do!
