  1. As for cake...we got the Tres Leches cake. It wasn't listed as one of the options, but they had no problem giving it to us...and it was amazing! They do adjust the size based on the number of guests you have, but I'm not sure how 'personalized' they will get without an up-charge. All you can do is ask! As for the 'private' events...You could definitely make a group reservation at a restaurant for your 'rehearsal', but know that there won't be a rehearsal, unless you conduct it yourself. We called ours a "welcome party" on Thursday night and used our free cocktail party for that instead of after the wedding, so that we could enjoy it with our guests. After the ceremony, our guests went back to freshen up and met at the lobby bar for drinks until it was time for dinner! I didn't use the live-streaming..but the wifi isn't very strong at the resort IMO, so I'm not sure if it would fully work if you had someone do it for you?
  2. I brought my own decorations! They charged me a $60 setup fee, but they did set them up for me. The charge may be more now, as I was married June 2011. Whatever the charge is, I'm sure it is MUCH cheaper than renting from them!!
  3. Not a bad question at all! If you go to the link for the Aylee Bits template (go back to page 1), they all come with it. The template is $10 and WELL worth it!!
  4. Thanks! The picture was a template from Vistaprint! I got 100 postcards for free, and just paid shipping costs!
  5. I'm so sorry!! I didn't get a notification that you wrote to me! I am PM'ing you now!!
  6. Thanks Bree! Taryn -- We leave early Saturday morning!!! I will definitely let you know how our trip goes! I had friends go to Excellence in Riviera and LOVED it!
  7. Hey ladies!! Does anyone know what the details are about using your resort dollars for jewelry?? We will have $500 to spend at ASP and $750 to spend a Cozumel Palace, and I'm debating what I want to do where.
  8. Hey girls!! I bought this dress for my "trash the dress" session in Mexico! I purchased it in a size 8 and had it sized down to a 4/6 (height 5'5, 34 B bust). It is nice, light and flowy! Perfect for a beach wedding, reception and/or TTD session! The dress is a Bill Levkoff and is their 'ivory' color. I did notice after giving it a good look-over that it does have some faint "sand" staining on the lower front of the gown, but I find the markings are not very noticeable at all and I can bet it would easily come out if you took it to get it cleaned. It is also just slightly dirty on the bottom hem from walking around without shoes on -- again, may come out if taken to a cleaner. A white garment bag will come with the sale of this dress! If you have any questions, please let me know!!! Shipping is not included in the purchase price.
  9. We tipped the typical 10-20% for spa/salon treatments, as well as our wedding reception waitstaff. We would tip $1 or 2 for room service, but we did not typcically tip the regular bar or wait staff.
  10. I guess I thought this was standard with all TAs, but I never had to worry about the credit. My TA took it right off my balance and had the refund issued to her directly. I never had to pay and wait for it to come back?
  11. Hey Sarah! I had my dress well-steamed by my bridal shop before I left, and it was still perfect when we arrived in Mexico. Now I never folded my gown or "squished" it into any compartments (my fabulous hubby held it up through the airport and we hung it in first class), so this may definitely have an affect on how it comes out post-travel? One thing I can tell you though, is that if you have your gown steamed by the resort, it will take 2-3 days, and they DO send it off site. That was unsettling to me, so even if my gown was wrinkled at all, I would have taken care of it myself. I feel like one bride recently posted a great travel steamer that she took with her. That might be the better option if you are concerned!?
  12. Hey Jeanna! I am headed to Cozumel Palace at the end of June!! I've never been before, but it seems to have great reviews! If you'd like pics and a review when I get back, just let me know!
  13. Our cocktail party was at 5pm. I would say you will probably be ok at 6pm in May. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Our WC was there the WHOLE time, so she was the one who brought them over when she noticed we were all gathering under the one lol. You can definitely tell them to be on the lookout for it if you are worried about it!
  14. Here is the pic of my welcome cocktail at pandero. I was very disappointed when I first saw it without the 'roof', but I was happy I had it there. They did end up adding another umbrella for us because of the sun, but it all depends on the time you are there.

  16. Here is the link to my welcome bags if you wanted to check them out. All of my guests went straight to the pool bar when we got there and stayed there most of the day, so my maid of honor and I went up to the room, put them together, and brought them down to everyone at the pool! It was definitely worth saving the money and being able to personally deliver them as my thank you. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/72302/jesss-oot-bags-done-w-pics
  17. I flew US Air, and I (meaning my loving husband) carried my dress in a double garment bag through the whole airport as a 'carry on' item. I was told that they could make no guarantee and that I had to ask the woman at the terminal, who also told me they could not promise me anything. When I went in, the flight attendants even told me that I had to put it in the overhead bin, but I had a friend in first class and he just hung it there for me, no questions asked. I would bet that if you asked someone in first class if they would mind, I'm sure they wouldn't! I think it really depends on the people working the plane. MOST people would be very understanding and willing to help you, knowing it is your bridal gown!! My gown shop pressed my dress before we left and I didn't need to do anything to it on my wedding day. It was still as perfect as day 1. If they press it nicely, it should stay. At least know this...unless something has changed...they send your items OFF SITE to have them steamed/pressed, and it will take a few days. If it were me, I wouldn't send me dress away! Hope this helps!
  18. You cannot ship items to our resort. I wouldn't suggest it anyway.
