  1. ( awww.... I hope he changes his mind!! Maybe a breakdown like mine would help? LOL Engagement pictures was suprisingly something I didn't have to struggle with...although I did win an E-shoot with a photog on here up in NYC after our original ones and he would have nothing to do with it lol...I get that though! Hopefully he'll turn around and do them with you...sometimes I think it really just takes a little explaining of how much it means and why you want them...and some time for them to think about it. Good luck hun!!
  2. Erin...nice job of everything so far!! It all looks great!!! SouthernSweetie -- The sun sets in June there around 7:30pm...maybe you could push it back to 5pm? That is when I chose my ceremony for, that way there was still plenty of sunlight, but we would still be able to get some sunset pictures before dinner really gets started. Hope that helps!!
  3. La Luna does amazing work!! If you went with them, I know you would be happy! Our budget was so tight that I couldn't really afford them (or some of the others I really loved). I am going with Octavio Montes -- he is extremely budget friendly!
  4. Oh and PS...there are only 8 things purchased? It makes me a little sad?
  5. Ummm...my shower is in 4 days and I CAN'T stop looking at my registry!!! lol
  6. If you are looking for a place to get your sashes, I used cvlinens.com. I have heard from girls in the past that you just bring your decorations to the wedding planning meeting and they will take care of setting everything up for you -- including lanterns, sashes, etc. The sun sets in June in Riviera Maya around 730ish. I am getting married a few weeks after you and my wedding time is 5pm. If you want more sunset pictures, you could go for 6pm, but I think 5 is perfect --- unless you were hoping for during the day? We are doing the horse and carriage and harpist too!! As far as the cake, I believe they will make the size based on how many guests you have, so you should be ok with more people. I'm not paying to upgrade my cake either. The only real "private" event I'm having is a welcome cocktail party on Thursday night. I planned a "play day" at Playacar Palace for anyone who wants to go with us to the beach on Friday, and I planned a farewell lunch/pool party for Sunday before everyone leaves. As far as a rehearsal, I don't believe they actually 'conduct' one. I think you are on your own with that. Is everyone planning a rehearsal dinner with your bridal party??? I was sort of on the fence with this one...
  7. Thanks! It really was easy! I have never worked with flowers before, and just took what I had and organized it in a way that I thought looked good. Anyone can do it!
  8. Ahh!!! Congrats!!! Have an amazing trip! Just like all of the other ladies, your wedding will be amazing! I can't wait to hear all about it and see your pics when you get back!!
  9. Hey Lauren!!!! Another June Bride!! ) How many people are traveling with you? Have you picked/reserved anything besides your date with the resort? I agree, they are WAY overpriced! I am doing the complimentary package and just bringing orange chair sashes for the ceremony. They will be giving me an alter flower in place of my bouquet. I am also bringing orange and white lanterns to hang from the pandero terrace for our cocktail party. Other than that, really the only other stuff I'm bringing are my gifts, OOT bags and bouquets.
  10. What photog are you looking into? There are so many amazing ones down there...
  11. Jenn, that jewelry is gorgeous!!! I'm not much of a jewelry wearer, so I am actually planning on just wearing these silver/pearl drop earrings that I bought when I was in Cozumel last year. It came with a necklace, but I am still debating on whether or not I will wear one or not. My something borrowed is going to be a pearl bracelet from my mom, and my something old is going to be a ring from my great, great aunt that was passed down to my mother. I'm not sure how nice of flipflops you want (these are nothing fancy and a bit cheaply made), but I bought these for my TTD: http://www.amazon.com/Just-Married-Flops-Stamp-Message/dp/B004AS8QX6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1304957571&sr=8-1
  12. Thanks girls!! It IS so exciting!! Marteeni, it is the least I can do! I know how unsure I felt when I first got here, and most of the stuff I gave to you was stuff other brides on the same thread gave to me! It's only right to spread the love! ) and Alisa, you are what, less than 4 weeks away from leaving!?!? ahh!! I remember being here when my wedding was over a year away, feeling like it would take forever...and here we are!! My shower is this weekend and I'm so excited for it!!
  13. Hey! Yes, you can go right back in and reorder the free stuff as many times as you want, you just can only 1 of each thing per order (because most are 1 free). While they will most likely send you all of your orders together (they did for me), they still make you pay individual shipping per order. Hope that helps!
  14. Yayyy!!!! Wilma just emailed me to set up our wedding planning meeting!!! That means its getting close!! ) 6 1/2 weeks to go!!
  15. Aww thanks girl! I love sharing the love! ) I always say my wedding wouldn't be anything near what it will be now without this site!
  16. The mugs come with two templates inside them. I just traced the template onto cardboard, cut it out and used that as my template to cut the colored paper to the right size...then I just printed out a design on a sticky nametag out, stuck it on and that was that! You can see my finished ones on either page 1 or 2.
  17. We are dancing to "Just the Way You Are" by Bill Joel...it just fits )
  18. I also like the "forever" dance entrance...I actually think some of my bridal party wants to do that
  19. Ahhh I'm sold!! Thank you!! ) I was going to use "Island in the Sun" by Weezer...but its just not upbeat enough I don't think! This one is perfect! Do you think anyone will care that we got married in Mexico and its more of a jamaican feel?? My guests could play their maraca favors lol
  20. We have 11 other people on our flight, so I am hoping to have them all help me as much as possible too! If it comes down to it, I like the idea of filling and taking a bin that I could leave there. Thanks for the tip!
  21. Yeah, I actually just planned on passing off a carry on to either my maid of honor or bridesmaid to take on the plane for me. I'm sure your father-in-law will look great with pink luggage! lol
  22. ahhh!! I'm a little afraid of my luggage situation. I actually grabbed out a carry on the other day and started putting in my OOT bag stuff and it was full before I knew it!! Do you think they would let you bring your wedding gown, a purse AND a carry on!?!?! I'm doubting that would be allowed...
  23. Aww congrats Cindy!!! We are getting married in June and are having our AHR in early July, so as soon as all of that is over, we are going to "stop preventing" and see what happens! I plan on going to see my doctor sometime in early June, just to see see what kind of things I should or shouldn't be doing...but we would really just like things to happen naturally, whenever it happens, it happens! He is going to be 37 and i'll be 28 in July, so we didn't want to wait too long! (ever since I can remember I always had this 'goal' of having my first child before I was 30) We bought a home and have been living together for almost 3 years now, so we're ready for anything that comes!
  24. Well the problem with that is that 13 out of the 17 of the people coming are on our flight! So they will be getting there at the same time as us. I do believe that my resort will deliver them to the rooms for like $3 a piece, but if they're going to be delivered, I'd almost rather do it myself...which I guess leaves another option? Once everyone gets settled, we could hand deliver them to people and thank them for coming?
  25. Omggg I can't believe you get married in less than 10 days!! ) You must be getting so excited to leave!! I honestly was planning on taking my bouquet in my carry on (as were my girls), but after realizing that they do have wire in them and also a pin that holds the ribbon on, I'm a little afraid to. Each of my girls is taking their own, so that I have more room for other things. I think just to be safe we are going to pack them as nicely as possible in our checked luggage, and fix them once we get there. My Aunt told me that if we bring spray starch or hairspray and a hairdryer, that we can move and adjust them any way we want.
