Absolutely gorgeous...wish we hadn't already booked our photographer!!!! -
I'm contemplating doing the two dresses thing too. There is an adorable white dress at BCBG that is CALLING ME NAME every day when I walk past at lunch. but my mom keeps insisting that I will want to wear the dress all day, but it seems like that would be HOT! And I don't want to have to clean it. So we will see. What does your second dress look like? Â My "real" dress is the Jenna by Maggie Sottero...tons of layers and would cost another fortune to have it dry cleaned...hence the second dress...  My TTD dress/second dress is still a bridal gown... Mori lee 2203...I bought it off the rack as a sample for only $200...so i cant complain; plus I dont have to have it altered at all...its a bit long but that isn't a big deal. I still wanted to look and feel like a bride but I didnt want it to look anything like my real dress as my FI helped with picking this one out and originally we were thinking about doing the TTD pics the day before the wedding being as our wedding package comes with a trial hairdo...but then i saw the after affects of the sand with the dresses and decided that the day after the ceremony would be the best if i wanted any nice pictures in the second dress.

All of the bridesmaids (I have 5 of them) are paying for their own dresses...but I did help out with the cost as they were originally supposed to cost $189 and I bargained to get them down to $151 and no tax...does that count as doing my part?! I am getting them their necklaces and personalized beach towels as gifts.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Â -
I haven't even thought about bringing down decorations! Are you bringing down a cake topper too?! I already planned to bring down the jars for the sand ceremony...geez...I am going to end up bringing everything but the kitchen sink!!!! Â I have read other comments from ladies on the site that Tia is Waaaay more expensive than the other vendors in the area. My quote was originally for $3000 and I thought that was ridiculous; not to mention they were very unfriendly to deal with! But I think that price is even worse when it's impossible to take them home and enjoy them after the wedding! I think I am going to do some checking and see who else is in that area as a vendor. Â sorry...I sound negative...Refresh....Wedding...In Jamaica....Okay...I'm better!

Mrs. Williams - love the second dress! Very unique and stunning!

Thanks for posting! Wonderful Idea!

JMarie - What nights is the piano bar available? Do they play every night? I know All of us on here are getting married on different nights...Do you remember what is available? Okay ladies, after her review, I am really up in the air as to what we are going to do...I was totally set on the gazebo idea...but now I am questioning it if it is that much fun doing the "included" stuff!!! I am bringing down a small handheld steamer to "freshen" up my dress...but hopefully I won't have to worry about wrinkles too much. I am bringing down 2 dresses as I don't want to have to dry clean my "real" dress before my AHR...I am changing into the other dress sometime after the ceremony (don't know if I will wait until after dinner or not) and I am also wearing this same dress for the TTD session...anyone else doing something like this???

The file is too large to upload but i have their catalog that they sent me; there are 2 different ones. One of the bouquets and one of the decorations. I attached my quote from them...I think they are very pricey! I found a girl on Craigslist and actually she had our colors in her bouquets and she had the amount I needed so I bought the silk ones for the bridal party. We are making all the flowers for the guys...I am hoping to maybe have a fresh one for me made to closely resemble the ones from the BM's and if not, I have a larger one that matches theirs for mine that I will use. I know that different things that are included in your packages at the GBP can be shifted and moved to upgrade or change things...so I think I will try that...HATE the idea of leaving all those details until we get down there though!!! I thought about sending Tia Floral a pic of the bouquet and asking if they can duplicate it with real flowers. Quote.xlsx

How bizarre...I just used one of your past quotes and now poof...here you are!! Were your ears ringing!?? lol! Thanks for that website...some really awesome pictures...I really want to see more people's wedding pics from there...those are the ones that I am obsessed with!! Freakish thing though...I entered our dates to stay..and that website said that they don't have any availability! Glad we aren't booking through them or I would be panicking! Ironically we were just starting to put together our song lists and there was one that came out in my Brides Magazine...has a lot of hit dance songs! We are for sure playing: Lady Gaga – Just Dance Usher – Yeah Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Outta My Head Gwen Stephani – Sweet Escape Beyonce – Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) B-52’s – Love Shack Cindi Lauper – Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Big & Rich – Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy Brian Setzer Orchestra – Jump, Jive & Wail Lou Vega – Mambo #5 Kid Rock – All Summer Long Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alabama Shakira – Hips Don’t Lie Rhianna – Don’t Stop the Music But I have been kicking around the idea of bringing down a speaker docking system for the ipod...I dont know what they are going to have and I have not heard an answer on what exactly will be available if we don't use the DJ and if we have to pay to rent it, what is required to set it up...etc.!? Do any of you ladies have any of those answers?! What are ya'll doing for flowers? Have you decided? Are we able to go with a different vendor other than the contracted Tia Floral or does that cost extra?

Kymbelina: according to this earlier message from mekanabr, she had heard from Beverly that the gazebo can be rented out for $250 without the services of the DJ...at least that was my understanding from it...I was also quoted $500 but that was for both the DJ and the Gazebo I believe!? Quote: Originally Posted by Kymbelina Missy, I was quoted $500 for the DJ and Beverly told me to bring my own CDs as well! What did Beverly tell you about the food options? I'm sooooo confused! If I'm correct, if it's semi-private, the food is no charge, but if you pay the $2500 to have it private, you have to pay for your food. Does this make sense?? What has Beverly told you guys? For that kind of money...pay me!!! Ill press the stinkin button for my own wedding!!!!! Quote: Originally Posted by AshleyL From the photos I really like the location of the Italian restaurant too! According to Kerrij, a bride that got married down there...they did not pay the extra for the private room but said that it was plenty private in itself and they had theirs at the Italian restaurant. But we definitely are not paying that kind of money for it either way. That is way more than our AHR site is going to cost and that allows for dinner and dancing!!! WAAAAYYYY too much money! Ashley - Where did you see pictures?????

Thank you ladies for all the wonderful compliments! I really appreciate it! Yes, corset backs are definately the way to go! I think I was born in the wrong era...i love how corsets feel...guess that could have gotten old though, given all the cracked ribs and all! lol! Tina, I love the Maggie A3325, but I may be partial b/c I am a Maggie bride! Sarah - Gorgeous dress!!!

I actually got an email from Beverly over the weekend!!! I had been inquiring about the DJ services to determine if we wanted to use the DJ or save the $250 and just do it ourselves...I asked what kind of music the DJ had and such and if we were to provide a song list or whatever. She said that we should bring CDs of all the songs that we want and he would just play them. Well...If we are going to do that...what is the stinking point of paying some guy $250 to push a play button!?!? So I am thinking we are just going to bring and IPod and do it ourselves...may not be as organized but heck...saves us the money!! Anyone hear back on what she meant in regards to setting up our own equipment (for the music) in the gazebo? I am also hoping to have the dinner in the Italian restaurant...seems like the best choice as there is such a variety in Italian, everyone should be able to find something of their liking!

Okay ladies... I have been on the site for awhile, but I just wasn't observant enough to find this thread! We are getting married on May 7th, 2011 at the Gran Bahia Principe, Runaway Bay (I think that it is bizarre that all three of us getting married at that resort in May are within the first week! ) But I found my dress in January - it just arrived last month - love, love, love it!! Our BM dresses: (half the girls will have fuchsia with a tangerine ruffle and the other half will be the reverse) I loved the fact that both my dress and the BM dresses have the corset back to compliment eachother! I didnt do STD's for Jamaica but we did do them for our AHR on June 18th. I have the Jamaica invites on their way too and i am going to send out the flyer from our TA with the Jamaica invites with the STD for the AHR too. Tacky? But we aren't inviting all of the people to Jamaica that we are inviting to the AHR. I worked on writing our ceremony this week and compiling a song list for both the DW & AHR. One question that I have yet to get an answer on is if you go by a shorter name than your birth name...how do you do that with the ceremony...it would be sooooo weird to have my FI call me Melissa!

Share your ceremony script!

So Thank you to all of you who have posted your scripts! My keyboard is soaked with tears! But it got me to thinking...do any of you go by a shorter name than what your birth name is? I go by Missy but my birth name is Melissa...would it be confusing to use Melissa in the introduction and then go with Missy? It would just be too weird to have my FI call me Melissa as I have NEVER gone by that (except when I was in trouble!!! ) -
We booked through a Travel Agent and she hooked us up with FunJet vacations and we are doing the all-inclusive option too...she also got us an additional wedding discount that is per reservation and starts at atleast $50...so that was nice. She gave us flyers to send out with our invites and said that people could book everything as a package through her or they could find their own flights and just book the accommodations through her if they wanted to or whatever...as long as the reservation amount that was booked through her was at least $1000, they would get at least $50 off! I can't complain about that! But our guests do have options of going either way...all-inclusive or not...to me it is much more simplified to go the all-inclusive route...especially with the price being right. She quoted us $470 for airfare and $778 per person for 7 nights...loving the prices!!! Our guests have to pay the airfare portion and $200 of the accommodation costs upfront...the remainder is due at the end of March...(we are getting married in May) As far as the booze option goes, I think we are just going to get large, personalized beverage cups to put in the OOT bags and being that the gazebo part is only 2 hours...hopefully that will only equal 1 or 2 trips to the bar!? Haven't totally decided on that one yet...just seems like a hassel because we also have people who don't drink, so we wouldn't want to be unfair to them...so that would mean purchasing soda too!?
