  1. Hi MissLinz! We booked the Parrot Cay 1 Bedrm Honeymoon suite. I figured since it's our honeymoon, we would upgrade our room and spend a little more money. One of my friends on Facebook has some pictures of this room; let me know if you want to see them, and I'll see if I can save them to my computer and send them to you! :-)
  2. Hello!! I am also getting married at Beaches T&C in May at 11am! May 21st! We're going to have the 1 hour private cocktail reception after the ceremony, and that's it! We figured we'll be all done by 1pm, and then all our guests can enjoy the rest of their day, since a lot of them will be leaving the day after the wedding. I booked my stay and wedding through a TA that my friend referred to me, and she's been great! Happy planning!!
  3. Beautiful dress, Brandy!!! I love it!! And it's perfect for a destination wedding!!
  4. Thanks! We're getting married in Turks & Caicos! Sooo excited!!
  5. Here are some pics of my wedding dress! I got it a few weeks ago, and I love it!! Plus, it was on clearance!! :-)
  6. Thanks for posting those pictures Brandy! I am retarded and couldn't figure out how to attach them to a post, but now I think I've figured it out! LOL I am going to have our 1 hour cocktail reception at the Boardwalk. I cannot decide between the beach and the gazebo for the ceremony. The beach is beautiful, but not very private and could be very hot; the gazebos offer some shade and more privacy, but I don't think the scenery is as pretty as the beach. I probably will not decide until I get there and actually walk around w/ the onsite wedding coordinator and get a feel for everything. I cannot wait to actually see some weddings at the resort on the first few days that we're there, before our big day!!
  7. Hello Ladies!! Lauren & Jeremy May 21, 2011 at 11:00 am Beautiful Beginnings Still deciding on the exact location
  8. Hey!! Yes, there are definitely areas that provide more shade than others. My TA actually sent me some pics today of some of the popular reception sites at Beaches T&C. If you'd like, you can PM me your email address and I can forward them to you!
  9. Hello! My fiance and I will be getting married at Beaches T&C on 5/21/2011 at 11am. I originally thought we would just go eat at a restaurant after the ceremony, but I have now decided to do the 1 hour reception. My only fear is that it will be VERY hot during the reception (between 11:30am- 12:30pm). Has anyone had their reception outside around that time frame? Was it really hot?? I am hoping there will be some reception spots outside that provide some shade.... Thanks!
  10. I got my dress at David's Bridal, too! And it was the LAST place I thought I'd buy a dress! But they have such a huge selection, it's hard to not at least stop in and look!
  11. In the information my TA gave to me, it says it's "from" $170, which isn't too expensive, considering how much we're already going to spend on our stay! :-)
  12. Hello! My fiance and I are thinking about doing the Private Candlelight dinner on our last night at the resort. Did anyone have the private candlelight dinner while they were there? If so, did you feel that it was worth the cost? And can I book it when we arrive, or would it need to be booked far in advance? Thanks! Lauren
  13. Thanks for posting those pictures! It's going to be hard to decide where to have our ceremony! The beach is absolutely beautiful, but there will be people laying out on the beach during the cermeony. The gazebos look more private, and provide a little bit of shade, but I don't think the scenery is as pretty. I am sure I will figure it out all when I arrive! :-)
  14. Ha-ha! I am the same way! I do NOT wear a lot of make-up at all. If I get my make-up done at the resort, I am sure I'll have to adjust it to my liking before the wedding, which is fine! I'm glad the hairstylist was able to do you exactly what you wanted. Now I just have to decide what style I want...decisions, decisions... :-)
  15. Hello! I am getting married at Beaches T&C on May 21, 2011 and I have been wondering the same thing. I am thinking about just doing it myself. I would be REALLY disappointed if I paid for them to do my hair and makeup, just for it to look bad and then not have enough time to fix it. So, I am thinking about watching some videos on YouTube about how to apply makeup for your wedding day (and the same with bridal hairstyles). Kind of a "hair and make-up tutorial" online! I haven't searched for videos yet, but you can find almost ANYTHING on Youtube! Mistibuard had a great idea, too! Those ladies that work at the make-up counters seem to really know their stuff!! :-)
  16. The same thing happened to me, too. When I told my mom that we wanted to get married at Beaches Turks & Caicos, she said "We can't afford to go, hope you have fun".... After both our families realized that we were NOT changing our minds and we actually booked the wedding and honeymoon, they changed their minds, and now all of our immediate family members will be going. I think once they realize that this is what you really want, they'll be onboard with the idea. I hope everything works out!!
  17. Welcome, Kim! My name is Lauren, and I am getting married at Beaches Turks & Caicos on May 21, 2011. The best advice I can give is to book your wedding/reservation as soon as you've decided on a location and date, as wedding dates and times book very quickly at Beaches T&C! I am using a TA that my friend recommended, and I am soo glad we have her to guide us!!! She is pretty much the "middle man" between us and the wedding coordinator (and I heard the wedding coordinators that you deal with prior to arriving are not really wedding coordinators, but more "sales" people). Alot of the people we invited will not be able to go to the wedding, which is perfectly fine with us! The main reason we decided to do a DW is b/c we wanted something simple and small. And I personally think that if you give people enough notice, the most who truly want to be there will find a way to be there! But, I think DW brides have to understand that it's nearly impossible for ALL of the people you invite to go! I'm still kind of in the beginning stages of planning everything (although there isn't too much to plan!), but please let me know if you have any questions! I have literally read everything on the Sandals/Beaches website!
  18. Congrats and welcome! I am also a Beaches Turks and Caicos bride! Happy planning!!
  19. I think I might have figured out what I am going to do. I am going to go ahead and send out our STD magnets w/ the flyer containing the resort info. We're getting our engagement pics done in October, and my photographer can create invitations using our pics, so we'll just send those out as invites and include on there where we're registered at... Â Good luck in your planning!! :-)
  20. Congrats!! I was originally going to get married at Sandals Grande Antigua; it looks amazing! But since some of our guests are bringing their children, we had to pick somewhere else. I have never been to Antigua, but I am sure you will LOVE it!!!
  21. Glad to hear you've chosen where you're going to get married! I am also getting married at Beaches T&C; I've read tons of great things about it on this website. And the pics I've seen look gorgeous!! Happy Planning!! :-)
  22. Hello! Â My fiance and I will be getting married on 5/21/2011 in Turks & Caicos. I will be sending out our STD magnets next week along w/ a flyer that my TA will be creating w/ all the resort details. Do I still need to send out formal invitations? The ONLY reason I can think to send them is to let our guests know where we'll be registered. However, we are not going to register by the time the STD and flyers go out, so I don't know if I should include that info on there. Any suggestions??? Â Thanks!
  23. Turks and Caicos! That's where I am getting married, and I chose it partly because my TA has been there (as well as a ton of other places) and she said it has some of the most beautiful water and beaches she's ever seen! I also used "Trip Advisor" to help me decide (website that tourists use to rate the resort/hotels after their stay). I will be getting married at Beaches Turks and Caicos and some of the reviewers on that site have posted some underwater pics from scuba diving and they are AMAZING!! Happy planning!!
  24. Also, I meant to ask- Do you all know if we are allowed to write down EVERYTHING the officiant says during the ceremony? I do not want a long, drawn-out ceremony..I prefer like 2-3 minutes, max! LOL Is anyone that far in their planning?? Thanks!
  25. Thanks ladies! We're getting married on May 16th, and we chose (today!) to go with 11am for the wedding time; that way we can all go to lunch at a restaurant afterwards then everyone can have the rest of the afternoon to do whatever they want (it's going to be a fairly small ceremony). I was worried about the time of day and having the ceremony outside b/c I was afraid it would be too hot, but I have lived in Florida my whole life and we've had a high temperature of about 100 degrees here the past month! So I think we will be fine no matter what time of day it is, as long as it's not 100 degrees and humid ...
