I love this thread! it is so comfoting to know that the things that are stressing me out are things we all share! The biggestest things I have learned so far is who my true friends are and that people lie!

Walking alone is completely acceptable these days. Your dad isnt really giving you away so its kind of an outdated tradition. I do think you need to be honest with your dad ahead of time. you dont want someting like this hanging over you while you are planning the happiest day of your life!

My wedding is in June and the reality is slowly taking over me. It wasn't real at all until the day I put the invitations in the mail. I think the day I get to bring my wedding dress home will be a big day too. All in all, I dont think it will really feel real until Im standing barefoot on the beach saying I DO!! Good luck and enjoy the process! Its a beautiful thing!!

Hey Ladies, I know this thread has not been used in a while but I would love to get it up and going again! I am getting married at the Tucan/Quetzal on June 5, 2011! I would love to hear from any other brides getting married or who have gotten married here!! I know that some of thier prices and policies have changed since this thread was last used!

Zelda, Those masks would be sooo much fun in pictures! I think I will have to add that to the list! Im really really trying not to bring to much stuff. I just keep telling myself that I picked a beautiful resort so that I wouldnt have to do all of that! still, i think I may end up needing an extra suitcase! We picked the package because I knew that if I didn't I would start saying I need this and this and this and soon I would have spent even more! lol. But lucky you with two nights in the presidente suite! that will be awesome! Music is my main project right now...I havent picked any specifics left but Im making a list to go thru with FI and see if we can agree on anything. I absolutely LOVE Adam Sandler and I dont want anything to serious so I want to use the song "I want to grow old with you" somewhere. Gabriella said I can get a DJ for the reception for 80 dollars and hour but I dont really know if I want to do that. I feel like my Ipod would have better music! What are you doing for music?

Im going barefott for sure!! thats half the reason I wanted a beach wedding! I am going to get cute heels dyed to match my dress sash for the reception!

a wallet is always good! and anthing engraved is always good for memories. My favorite engraved gift is an ipod!! if he doesnt have a good ipod that could be a great gift. Excursions while on vacation are always awesome too!

Im thinking about trying to do all cute song lyrics. Like for the bag with the toys and games im going to make a tag that says "lifes a beach, we're just playin in the sand" I havent thought about all the other bags yet but its someting im going to think about while Im working on our playlist!

I was originallly going to print cards off vistaprint but I had some spare time on my hands so I made these in powerpoint! Im going to cut them out and glue them to each side of yellow card stock and then tie them to each tag with pretty ribbon! they look almost exaclty like what i was going to make on vistaprint!!! front and back!

I was originally only doing tealtoo but it was getting hard so I added some orange things too! Most things are still going to be teal. I think it will still look really good in the end!

Yea that seems like a really bad idea. If someone told me to bring a gift but dont bother wrapping it, I would be offended!! As far as the alcohol goes, I plan on having it! It may be the only way I can handle dealing with my family!! lol

Im telling my dad to wear khaki pants and a solid color button up shirt. Im going to let him decide (within reason) what color he wants to wear. Our ceremony is going to be pretty casual and I want him to feel comfortable and relaxed!

I love Gabriella! she really has been awesome! We are getting married June 5th at 5pm on the beach. reception at the steakhouse as well. We also only have 20-30 people coming but we selected the dream package and it included the private reception at any of the restuarants (I think) it also came with a welcome cocktail party the day we get there, mani,pedi, hair and hair trial and lots of other stuff! our colors are bright blue, green and orange so I think were going to do tres leches with blue ribbon and orange flowers. I havent even thought about centerpieces!! We will probably just do something simple Right now Im thinking I will probably do my makeup myself. Im excited to find you too!! I dont think there are too many of us on this site! what made you decide on this resort?

Im counting on people bringing thier own camera and I may bring a few extra ( I have 3 for some reason) and give them to people to take pictures. I really hope people upload thier pics but im not afraid to bother people to get them!! the scavenger hunt would be cute but im sure poeple will get a good variety on thier own.

We also sent them to everyone. I didn't want anyone to feel like they were uninvited or left out. and you dont get a present if you dont send an invite

We didn't mention a choice but some of our guests have booked on thier own. It hasnt been much of a problem yet because they have let us know, but it worries me too!
