  1. Beautiful... So during the bonfire did you have a DJ and do all of the "wedding" things like the first dance garter toss etc? I was planning on springing for the BBQ Buffet reception on the beach for three hours with a DJ. But the way you did it seems more cost efficient. Did you have the bonfire for 3 hours? If so, how much was it?
  2. That may depend on the time of year it is when you get married too.
  3. Sorry I meant that may be why they charge so much. So we wouldn't choose an outside vendor.
  4. It is $32 per person not including alcohol. Alcohol is an extra $7 (domestic) or $10(premium) This is for a buffet style reception on the beach. I am going to combine it with the bonfire so we can save a few $$$ on the alcohol since the bonfire for $250 includes an open bar for an hour. Our reception is only going to be 3 hours long so we may not even spring for the extra alcohol. Especially since it will be over at about 9:30 and our guests can then utilize the alcohol that is included in their all inclusive stay.
  5. He told me that he has accepted payment directly in the past and the WC looked at him crazy and did not approve. So I think I am just going to book him through the resort and try to pay him directly.
  6. I emailed the question about the lighting to the wc at the beach since I am doing a BBQ reception on the beach and she advised me the do provide extra lighting as needed. As always, I suggest in addition to posting your questions on BDW that you email the wc with the question directly so that you have the info in writing from them:)
  7. I did confirm that it is $100 fee plus $75 per person via email. So if your photographer has an assistant that would be a total of $250...Straight Bull-...I was also advised up front that they do not allow other florist to service the weddings at the beach. I plan on using tai flora either way. If I were you I would email them your question directly to ensure you have their answer in writing.
  8. No I did not make them. They were actually FREE from the Jamaican Tourist Board. http://www.visitjamaica.com/ If you go to contact us on their site then you can call them and ask for them to mail you however many you need.
  9. Now that I have completed yet another task and still have a million to go....The next task for me is the welcome booklets. ..I have already gotten our photo albums so stay tuned!
  10. Below are the items I will be putting into the pretravel package that I will be mailing to each of my guests about two weeks before we leave for Jamaica.
  11. Well I emailed hwe back and asked her to clarify...She advised me it has always been their practice to charge an outside vendor fee and a fee for a day pass...SMH
  12. Has anyone else been told that if they choose to use an outside vendor such as a DJ that they would have to pay the $100 vendor fee and a $75 day pass for the DJ? I was originally told we would have to just pay the vendor fee. Not an additional $75 per person. So this means if I choose to book an outside steel pan band and they have 3 members I have to pay the $100 vendor fee and an additional 225 for days passes for the members of the band? That is a total of $325 and the steel band charges $200 = $525 This is rediculus and now I feel like they are trying to nickle and dime me where ever they can! Sincerely, A Bride that is so freakin frustrated right now!
  13. You can book him through the resort but they wont attempt to book him until your wedding is about a month out. You can contact him and have him tenatively book you until the resort contacts him. Just to make sure he has your data available. Since he does do work outside of the resort ad well.
  14. Were you able to put something on them to personalize them for your wedding?
  15. You are all welcome. Please be sure to let him know you got the info from Felicia Miller. Not that I can get anytype of discount since I hav to pay the resort for his service but I just want him to know that I am spreading the word
  16. yes you can per an email from the WC...Pm me if you would like for me to forward you the email
  17. I did send an email asking this question and I did get a reply that they do allow us to light and release lanterns at the resort. If you need me to forward you a copy of the email pm me:)
  18. I haven't heard or seen anything about a contract? Did they email it to you? the only thing I got back was the last details form.
  19. Yes he is the one that told me he only charges $200/ hr. He is now also my friend on Facebook.
  20. Yes he is the one that told me he only charges $200/ hr. He is now also my friend on Facebook.
  21. They are quite pricey. The resort charges $350 an hour but the entertainment may charge less. For instance Ravon only charges $200 per hour so I am guessing the resort tries to keep the rest. I am going to try and pay him directly.
  22. Hey ladies, I just wanted to let you know that the wedding coordinators at Iberostar DO take requests when it comes to your entertainment. I am a member of this forum as well as the Iberostar Rose Hall Brides page on Facebook and I have seen a few women complain about their entertainment and services such ad the DJ and hair stylist. So I did some research and I have chosen the DJ and Steel Pan Drummer we would like to use. The wedding coordinator will book them for you thru the resort you just have to tell them who you want. You should also let that person know you are going to request them for your date so that they do not book any gigs outside of the resort! You may have seen the Steel Pan Drummer on this page, Ravon Rhoden. He also has a YouTube page that shows his work and he does a great job. Be sure to check him out an request him if you are looking for a Steel Pan Drummer. We will be using him for the hour after the ceremony during pictures starting from the time we are pronounced Man & Wife. Happy Planning! Felicia
