Hey guys! I have officially purchased the first items that will go towards our wedding. Just so you know, Brett and I have gone back and forth over our wedding colors... I mean it was rediculous how many times we (I) changed our (my) mind! And just when we decided on some nice fall colors for a fall wedding in the south. We decided to have the wedding in Jamaica and had to change the colors another 3 or 4 times! So this may be the reason why I am soooo excited about purchasing our decorations...now we can't change the colors anymore! Lol So here it is... 20 Purple & 20 Turquoise Chinese Japanese paper lanterns!! They are 12" in diameter & cost 1.20 each. The 10" ones were 1.09 but I wanted them to be a little larger. I got them from www.justartifacts.com The total was & $48 & the shipping was $17.98. Even with the shipping these lanterns ended up being the cheapest I could find and in my colors. Oh yeah, we will also be using white lanterns. I was told by Sylvia at Iberostar rose hall beach that they have white ones available so that saves me from carrying extra stuff. The lanterns came in a very light 5 pound box. They fit perfectly in the one suitcase I plan on using for only wedding stuff... So far... We will have to see how the one suitcase for wedding stuff works out! Lol

So I found some awesome white canvas totes that I would like to use for our OOT Bags and I definitely want to personalize them. However, every iron on paper I see says it would be good to iron onto T-shirts. If it is heavier than a T-shirt to use a heat press! Those things are expensive!!! So I am wondering if anyone has used an iron on transfer on canvas before and how it worked out.

Thanks that is a good idea. I see so many people packing things like first aid kits and mouthwash and hand sanitizer etc. I think I'm just going to personalize the canvas bag and throw some local things in it when we get there. Thanks again.

Oh okay I will have to keep that in mind! I am not trying to go crazy with flowers anyway but that is good to know. Plus I am getting married at the beach so maybe that's just for that location.

Will Iberostar allow you to use another outside florist besides tai flora? I was told by them we could not use another florist.

It is nice and flowy just right for a beach wedding in my opinion. Right now I am working on our passports..Yesterday we took our passport photos and have an appointment at the post office next saturday to send it off. My fiance's 7 year old daughter is going to be the only child there. So she is taking on all of the childrens rolls (flower girl, ring bearer, jr bridesmaid, etc.) I have been trying to find the right dress for her. As a matter of fact we will be looking some more when I get off of work today. I did just receive the first order I placed. I purchased 20 Turquoise and 20 Purple Round paper lanterns for decoration. The resort advised they already have white ones that we can use. For some reason when the package was delivered it all started to seem real to me...lol Another thing I am excited about is the Monogram we had made. I found an awsome lady on etsy.com (by way of facebook) that only charges $4.50 to make you a custom monogram. My brain is overloaded with ideas of where to use them...Luggage Tags, t-shirts, OOT Bags, you name it, I've thought it! I will be sure to post pics to this thread as soon as she emails me the jpeg file. I will also post pics of our lanters when I get home. Felicia

@Miss Honey Bee ... Because they don't have much work in the carribbean they basically charged me their regular fee and are just applying it to the travel expenses. I have them scheduled to come in on Nov 11, the wedding is on tNov. 12 and they are departing Nov. 13. They are staying at the resort with us. It made it easier for us. They did give us the option to put them in a hotel outside of the resort but when we calculated the outside vendor charge it made more since to just include them as a guest...They have 3 or 4 different packages so you would probably just choose which ever is best for you. Call them... Suzanne is great and will work with you anyway she can. Be sure to tell her where you got her information. Felicia Miller is my full name

Thats a good idea. Ours is currently set at 5pm I am hoping in November it wont set until about 6-630.
