  1. Avong, that sounds like such a swell idea. How much was that if you don't mind me asking? I don't like the idea of OOT bags and the stress that comes with it, because we already have to translate everything from English to Portuguese, i don't need more work or extra expense on traveling with that. I was thinking of the excursion as a nice gift to all that made it out there. DJ Doremixx has good reviews, just lately - not to bad mouth him- he has some complaints on not showing up, his other coworkers show up instead and he'll come toward the end of the night. So I guess be specific in requesting Ivan.
  2. My resort told me I can book in August to reserve the date. I can't wait! We're getting married at the Now Sapphire Riviera Maya on August 24, 2012. I can't believe It was in May I got engaged and now we're 1.7yrs away. Time will probably fly even quicker considering we're house hunting this week. It gives us and our families enough time to save too. Also, I'm very DIY and so far me and my fiance have made our STD's and were sent out early November. Welcome all 2012 brides! So far, seems like I'm a latest wedding in 2012 lol.
  3. ^^ The DJ works for AVI-SPL which is actually a big organization. When I contacted Sandra about the DJ, Luis immediately contacted me and was very responsive in his emails in such a short time. He's been with the resort for 5 years but doesn't have pictures, reviews, etc, because the company they work with now is new to him. His previous reviews are from the other company and in his contract he was not allowed to keep that information. I have until next year to decide whether or not we will use him or hire our own. Possibly use him for the cocktail hour only. Even then the divine package is only for 2hrs and we'd still need more hours either way. Extra hours are a tad costly, but they also do the light up dance floor. Sandra let me know that kids do count as a plate for the package. When I conjured the total for the a la carte and compared prices with Yazmir De La Mora wedding service, it's about the same. Some vendor prices are exactly the same. Sandra has amazing reviews from her former work at Dreams, so I'm uncertain as to whether or not we will use an additional wedding planner. I can definitely recommend the photography from Now Sapphire. Jhankarlo did my pictures when we were there for a site visit and we're even planning on hiring him for our TTD outside his company (shhhh!) lol. You can go back a few posts and I have my pictures there. Also, we'd have to upgrade our photo package. I'm excited, even though I have had my shares of nightmares that things won't go accordingly lol. Worst comes to worst, I'll book a wedding planner next year lol.
  4. Ok, so they added a roof like thing? I won't why its only on one part. I really liked the fact that it had no roof when we visited it. Now some akward poles there..hmmm..
  5. How much would it be for a group rate? Also, what is included? I'm definitely interested!!!
  6. Its up to borrow! lol If you like the template on word to print I can email you it. Michael's Craft Store still has them, and get the coupons on line weekly!
  7. That would be great! How does this sharring stuff work? lol I was really digging Jen from Jenerations. If it's in the summer that'd be perfect because Our 6yr anniv would be in Oct 1 and I could give him that as a gift instead of at the day of the wedding lol since there will be tons of dudes around!
  8. Jersey girl here too! Getting married in Riviera Maya, Mexico @ the Now Sapphire on Aug. 24, 2012. I would love to do the BD session too but only as I come closer to my wedding day.
  9. I'd love to see more pics as well. [email protected] btw, did you use the photographer from the resort? did they credit you something back for not using the DJ in the divine package?
  10. My df's Mom passed away in 07 and I absolutely loved her, she was an amazing woman. He is dancing with his Godmother, that's like his 2nd mom. When deciding on dates for the wedding we were pretty random and had an idea of June..random, really. So one morning I just woke up with the though of it being on her birthday to remember her, my fiancee agreed and I couldn't be happier! We remember it every year and now, how fortunate we are to celebrate our wedding and her birthday. She would've been 50 on our soon to be wedding date Aug. 24, 2012. Maybe there will be a way to incorporate his moms picture in a locket or something for his boutineer, private of course.
  11. Bridals by Roma in Clifton, NJ. Thanks all! Now the question is with or without the belt?
  12. Let me start off by saying everyone looks beautiful!!! I'm getting married in August 24, 2012 and I went last weekend with df to browse..to see what styles I liked since I wanted to prepare myself for Kleinfelds blowout sale. Well..I lovedddd this gorgeous Lazaro trumpet all lace gown.. except it was out of my price range at $5400, but she told me it was discontinued so it would be 50% off. Still out of budget. Plus, I wanted to wait for Kleinfelds. I couldn't get this dress out of my head, I love love loved it! I left Kleinfelds with nothing and I returned quickly to the local bridal store with my sister this time and we tried on that dress and others for a variety. I had that amazing feeling once again. My mom offered to pay my gown, but I still wanted a cheaper dress because to be honest, I'm quite practical and it's only for ONE day lol. I told the S.A. my budget was $2k max and she went to talk to her manager. She came back and said that her manager will clean, fix, and do all alternations for $2000! I jumped and nearly screamed yes! My sister said we could've bargained some more but I was too excited to think straight lol. The belt is separate but I might make my own, from what I heard it's quite easy. So here's my beautiful gown Please do not mind the gut! It will be fixed lol. This last pic was borrowed from online. I don't have a good one. Gorgeous back!!!
  13. I have a question regarding the chairs. I've seen the chairs that are goldish..I hate the white covered chairs and wanted these instead. Do they provide those too or do i have to hire an event planner. picture thanks to above poster.
  14. Thanks everyone! A box of 10 luggage tags were $19.99 but we bought them with a 40% off coupon (I printed a few and went back for more lol) so they came out to $12.99 per 10.
  15. Burgandy and sage (light green) Inspiration: Red rose and stem lol
  16. Great thread! I'm not sure how I'm going to have mine set up since I think I'd prefer the long tables instead of the round. But I love love love roses, so there will be plenty of that, definitely! Our colors are burgandy and sage. Maybe small ones of these... Then alternate to something like this but with red roses and maybe some hydrangeas..depends on our budget lol. (see top right corner pic for a somewhat visual) The image alone is something I created with different inspirations. I love red roses lol just dont like tall and overwhelming centerpieces like the bottom right, so it's an idea Also need some candles, we're thinking the floating kind lit up by olive/veg. oil. (seen below) Thanks for letting me share!
  17. Angie! So glad you're back! Please post reviews and pictures You actually had a pretty big wedding, by any chance did you stay around or under a $10k budget? <-it's ours, that's why we ask lol
  18. Total was approximately $62 with only 26 invites not counting postage of course, but including NJ's 7% sales tax. With the assistance of Michaels, Staples, Shutterfly, and the lovely soon to be bride and groom I think we did a kick ass job lol. I had this ridiculous long post as to how we did it all and the breakdown of our costs but it deleted before I got to post so here's the abbreviated version. If anyone has any questions, I'll be more than happy to answer. 20. I'm a planner too, I know it's far away but better safe then sorry. Plus, we're gonna be househunting soon and I know wedding will not be running through my mind. But now that I've visited the site, I feel so much more relaxed lol. August 24, 2012...so far lol Â
  21. I just returned this week and figured I should participate in a review. I loved loved loved the resort. I already told everyone that 2 years from now we're all going back, for our nuptials! I met with Sandra and she was helpful. Even sending me over a huge pdf file explaining things in further detail. When we were there Adventure Photos was giving away a free photo session and if you liked any of the pics you'd buy. We took advantage of it and they came out great! Here's a link, they're kinda tiny but you get the idea Also, we visited the RIU and overlooked the dreams and was rest assured the NOW was exactly what we wanted. The tranquility ambience of it and all. We bought 6 photos costing us a crazy penny at $15 but we have engagement photos done! lol.
