  1. I don't know the answer to your question but I know how you can find the answer. Why don't you use the search function in the forum and search for brides that got married at the church and send them personal message with your question. One bride that I know "Jess" got married at the church and had her reception at Dreams PV. Good luck
  2. We are staying at an AI resort so we don't have to worry about the food. The only thing we are paying for are transportation, land and boat, on the day of the wedding. I have one MOH and I will be paying for her dress too. I don't think our guests expected for us to pay anything else. Good luck in your planning!
  3. I meant to address that to you Kate...sorry, I saw your name after I sent the reply
  4. Hi Milek1986, Thanks for the info. We are having a bonfire are our wedding reception at Las Caletas already so I didn't want to repeat that at Dreams PV. I think I will just tell my guests to meet us for dinner at one of the resorts restaurant at a set time and whoever shows up, we will just be able to sit-together. I will make it informal. I originally planned on having welcome dinner OUTSIDE of the resort, but it's out of budget and since the food is free (included) in the resort, we might as well take advantage of that.
  5. I personally used our wedding website and sent emails to our potential guests as a "friendly" reminder about the due dates for booking hotels. I made it clear that I'm sending the emails and reminder "not as a pressure" to have them come to our wedding, but to let them know of future deadlines if they were planning to come. Also, I included that if they were for sure not coming, to let me know because I won't include them in my reminders the future. That helped weed out a lot of friends/family that weren't intending on coming. Since you asked for an opinion, I would suggest using a friendlier tone....it just seems very direct. That's just me and when I sent out my reminders I just wanted to know if they are planning or coming or not. But didn't use that language.
  6. Hi Jess, just visiting your planning thread (I think again), trying to refresh my memory. I'm 3 months away.
  7. Great Review, a lot of detailed information. I am reading Dreams PV review because we are staying there in 3 months. So excited!
  8. My wedding is set-up the same as yours. Staying at Dreams PV and getting married at Las Caletas. I have a wedding website where I posted 5,4,3.2 months reminder of the booking due date. Well the due date has passed and all our rooms have been booked (all 15 that we put a deposit for) but everyone waited until the last week to book their reservations. It was a bit stressful because I wanted to make sure my guests had rooms. All you can do is remind your guest and give them plenty of notice. Good luck
  9. Hi Ladies, Me and my wedding party will be at Dreams PV between May 27 - June 1st. I want to set-up a welcome dinner so my guests can all meet each other. Are you guys doing welcome dinner or drinks? Since it's an all inclusive hotel, how do I go about reserving a section (about 35 people) so we can have a little privacy. I don't want to book the whole restaurant, just put in a reservation for 35 people and hope we can all eat together in one area? Thanks, ~ Lea
  10. Our wedding will be at an all inclusive resort and on a holiday weekend, I am just doing a welcome dinner (not structured at all), just meeting all at the same place so that everyone can meet each other.
  11. I booked my venue 7 months out, and I think that's plenty of time to get everything done. Just do your own research and know what you want when it comes to details, so when the wedding coordinator ask for your info and wedding details, you are ready to give it to them. Happy Planning!
  12. Once the date and venue is set...it's all fun from here on out! Good luck planning
  13. Welcome and congrats. You will find a lot of helpful information on here. Use the search function on this forum and it will help you find thread and reviews for your location. You will find other brides who will help you out. Happy Planning!
  14. Congrats and Welcome. Once all the big items have been decided, location and venue...the rest are really fun and you don't want to wish the time will be by faster. I am 3 months away from my wedding and I wish I can slow things down. I am really enjoying the planning process. Have fun!
  15. Depending on which hotel you use, your package will come with a wedding coordinator. I would suggest looking thru the forum and searching for the thread that applies to your planning. The search function will help a lot in narrowing down the information you need. Happy Planning!
  16. Welcome and Congrats. That's really great that you have visited your wedding site previously. It makes the decision much easier right? I haven't been to my wedding destination or the wedding venue. Makes everything very exciting. Have fun planning!
  17. Welcome and congrats. You will find a lot of helpful information on here. I would suggest using the search function to help you find reviews of the resorts you are considering. A lot of brides do a planning journal after their wedding and it includes a review of the resorts. Happy Planning!
  18. Welcome. When I first started planning my wedding, I used the search function on this forum to help narrow down reviews and special items I was looking for. You should try that. There's a lot of helpful info on this forum, you just have to know where to look. Happy Planning!
  19. Welcome. i went to a friend's wedding in Las Vegas and her reception was in a private area in Monte Carlo's restaurant. You can look into having your reception in the one of the casino's restaurant.
  20. Welcome to the forum and good luck on setting your venue and date. I didn't book mine until 7 months out and I think there's plenty of time to plan after that. The venue, hotel and dates were the big items for me. I am 3 months out and I am starting to work on the details now.
  21. Really creative stuff. Thanks for the ideas. I will start ordering mine soon. LOVED the Honey Do List!
  22. Whoa...great invites. Your guests will be very excited leading up to your wedding. If I get an invite that looks like that, I'll for sure know I'll be in for an adventure....destination wedding style
  23. Thanks for sharing your OOT bag and the powerpoint template. So creative. This gives me a lot of ideas for mine
  24. I just checked out the site, very helpful with a lot of DIY projects. Thanks so much for sharing. I love this forum
  25. I really like this stirrer idea and I want to do one in my wedding colors, pink and orange. I don't know where to start or where to get the materials. First, I'll have to download your template and then go from there.
