  1. Anyone have an idea of where I can get these? Haven't really had any luck finding them online.
  2. Aww that's too bad! When I get a chance to go there I'll end up deciding on my date and will keep y'all posted!!
  3. I'm really worried about the same and would want as much "stress free" time as possible. Being there Monday - Monday and having a Saturday wedding will have me ANXIOUS all week!! I think I'm going to try to move my wedding day up to the Thursday May 26th. Â I'll try to take/post as many pics as I can during my site-visit in September for you! Â
  4. Hi Debbie, Â I heard of LUXE through a friend of ours who is also having a destination wedding this coming October/2010 in Aruba and they are using LUXE to "help" plan and book their guests. To be honest, there has been nothing but stress and headaches from what the bride tells me and she's more stressed chasing LUXE around to respond to all her guests emails/phone calls. They had a bit of turnover and handoffs so it was really hard to know who our contact person was. They had multiple issues with confusion about the bookings and final payment, etc. Due to this and other bad reviews I read I chose not to use LUXE! Â I do have to agree with cookie, that using a really good TA is no cost and FREE. However, what I found in doing all my research for quotes is that regular TA's don't care and don't follow up. Even going through a "Groups specialist" they don't' seem to care for the business or the bride, despite my group being about 80 people! Thankfully there is WEDDINGS BY OCEANS!!! (plug plug!) They've helped me TREMENDOUSLY throughout my ordeals with seat shortages on my flight and better yet they are FREE!!! They do also offer extended WC services at an additional cost, but in terms of helping you decide on a perfect location, hotel and package - I'd highly recommend them!! I'm working with Megan (the owner) and Ashley (who's about to go on matleave) - they're both great and you can say Jamielyn referred you!! Â good luck! Â
  5. Our all inclusive hotel where we'll be staying for the week with our guests is the Royal Decameron Panama - then I opted to have the wedding at a more upscale boutique hotel called the Bristol Buenaventura. My ceremony is scheduled to start at 5pm and I just met with my photographer (who I booked!!) this week and he told me that it wouldn't allow enough time for pictures before the sun goes down. So I'm considering moving it up an hour or 2 if possible. Â Also I am now reconsidering when to have the wedding during our trip. Our trip is Monday to Monday, May 23-30th, and set the date for Saturday May 28th to end the trip with a BANG! (plus we're having fireworks!! lol)... so I chose to do this thinking I'd need the week to finalize last minute wedding details, but now I'm actually getting to go to the resorts at the end of September to check things out, so maybe I should make it a mid-week wedding so that we can all relax and enjoy time being married. Is it better to just get the wedding over with earlier? Â
  6. I'm doing the same!! I chose a darker shade of coral for my girls dresses and light lime green for my guys shirts, and someone told me my colors are WATERMELON!!! Hhahahaha never thought of it like that before... Â other good accent colors to coral/salmon are aqua, yellow or even fuschia or purple!
  7. Â Very nice!! They turned out great!! I'm in the process of ordering mine from a seller on etsy too! I couldn't be bothered with all that cutting and gluing for 100+ invitations!! LOL Â Â In terms of my other planning: Â I'm going to be ordering my bridesmaids dresses soon from www.bigdaydress.com (style JH 5082). I bought my gown last weekend!! (... but still looking for my FI's suit!!) I'm booked to visit my wedding locations (in Panama) from Sept. 20th for a week!! So excited I could actually see things first hand to help my with all the decision making and planning. Â
  8. You can check out www.bigdaydress.com they have beautiful styles/selection of dresses and can customize however you want.
  9. Wow your FI's suite looks really good!! What material did you end up choosing if not the linen? Does it wrinkle? because that was my concerns with buying a linen suit for my FI. How much more did it cost for the different material? Thanks!! Â
  10. Weddings by Oceans is the BEST!!! They literally pulled all the stops out and were able to reserve the entire plane to Panama for Toronto passengers, with my group being ~75 people!! I was happy to know that there won't be a seat shortage and Montreal gave up all of their seats for that week only so it will fly out of Toronto directly now!! I was sooo scared and worried but WBO are so great to work with. Â madged - they don't specialize in Panama but Weddings by Oceans is a great destination wedding company. They'll match/beat any other quotes you might find from SellOff, which they did for me!! If you're looking for a wedding/event planning company in Panama there is www.gevento.com (Jaymar). I'm not using her but she could be very helpful!!
  11. I'm getting married in Panama and AT has only 1 flight every Monday from Toronto during their 'low season' ... for me our deposits cost $200ea and I'm expecting about 75+ people! I'm having difficulities as it is with the limited seat capacity on the plane, now THIS!?!? Â
  12. DITTO! I`m booked for next May,2011 so hopefully everything is settled very quickly or there will be a lot of pissed off vacationers & brides!!!
  13. Highschool sweethearts!! Same age but 6mos apart!
  14. Congrats! My cousin had their destination wedding at Moon Palace a few years ago and it was beautiful!! Happy planning!
  15. I guess I'm sorta on schedule... I just went out today to find material to get my bridesmaids dresses made. It's a start?!?
  16. LOL TOO FUNNY but still cute!! I'd get a good chuckle if I received one of those in the mail!!
  17. Your passports look sooo professional!! Where did you get the paper for the filler pages that are watermarked with that design? Its perfect!!
  18. Hi Amester, Â Thanks for your suggestions! - I've already thought of the backup options of flying out of Montreal (since the Toronto flight actually departs from Montreal-Toronto-Panama, and is the reason why they are short on Toronto seats!)... and Buffalo as well, but not Ottawa or Syracuse so I'll definitely try to look into those options too! My TA said our best bet is to try to BUY more Toronto seats from the Montreal operations but they're being difficult, so I'm going to try that first, and I'm still hoping more Toronto seats open up *fingers crossed!!!* Â
  19. Hi Cindy - I'm actually using Weddings by Oceans to book our trip for myself and my guests, and am a bit upset because it was my family who were looking on their own that told me the flight is virtually SOLD OUT, and NOT my wedding company! I feel they should have alerted me long time ago to warn me that they are reaching capacity and if I wanted to ensure my WHOLE group gets on the plane that I needed to act and reserve fast, which they didn't! I'm still waiting on them to call me back now to figure out what's happening. Our package is with Nolitours and the flight is through Air Transat which only flies to Panama once a week. I've been told there are probably other 'groups' holding seats just like we are and there could be a chance that more seats open up... but when and how many is subject to chance! I don't want to leave it to last-minute, but knowing your situation I'll definitely caution my guests not to jump and book through the US (yet!). Thanks for your input I appreciate it!
  20. OMG!!! Just found out today that the plane might be fully booked already for my week in May/2011?!?! I'm freaking out because that leaves more than half of my guests screwed with no way to get there since flights only leave from Toronto 1x/week!!!! WHAT TO DO!!!! I need some sort of back up plan?!?!? Do I change weeks? or the Destination???
