Hey there! I am getting married there June 17,2011....looks like we are wedding buddies!!! I'm so excited.

Thank you Laura for the reassurance. It's nice to hear from the brides who have been there and had a beautiful wedding. I'm really confident in the resort and Ana but sometimes it's hard not to stress.

I emailed her April 2nd and I only got an email to confirm about 2 weeks ago. I sent muliple followup emails, about one every 2-3 weeks. It was extremely frustrating. I was even working with a travel agent to try and help. I was going to give her one more week and then I was just going to call but luckily she finally responded. I know thier preferred method of communication is email but I waited over 2 months and thought a call wouldn't be unreasonable at that point. Now my frustration is waiting for her to take my deposit from my credit card. I realize she is extremely busy but it gets a little rediculous with the no communication. The weddings they book and the guests we bring them for the wedding is a huge part of thier business. I think they need to come up with a better system. All I want is my date and my deposit taken care of and I won't "bother" her for a whole year What is keeping me with DRC is all the wonderful things I've heard and from reading other brides reviews reassuring us that once we get there everything will be worth it and that our weddings will be beautiful. So thank you to all the previous bride because if it wasn't for you I would've dropped DRC due to lack of communication. Keep trying Jen! It will be worth it. Dreams is beautiful and I've read almost only great things, I'd say about 90% of the time people are overly impressed and 10% of the time people nit pick at stuff with negative comments but still have good things to say. I think DRC will be worth it in the end!

Also, DRC has mult beer choices which other all inclusives with have only one or two brands. The rooms look incredible and I read so many great reviews about the rooms. I loved the style and decor of everything...the lobby, the pool areas, the restaurants and the rooms. Plus it's only 20 mins or so from Cancun Airport and it's not in the "Party Zone" but close enough that if any guests really wanted to go they could. The wedding packages was also another big thing. I looked into Iberostar and Azul pretty closely too but their wedding packages were no where near what Dreams offers for the price. Dreams comes with everything if you get the Love or Ultimate.... hair, makeup, photos, video, flowers, cake, mexican trio, a cocktail hour with horderves (sp?) plus a dinner reception (food included) for 20 guests and then anything additional you'd pay for per person. None of the other resorts had a cocktail hour let alone a full meal...most other resorts had cake and champagne toast. Dreams you definately get the most for your money! Plus the resort is absolutely beautiful and brand new! I'm sooo excited and I know I chose a great resort. DRC was the perfect pick for my FI and I and the vision we had for our wedding. I hope this helps and good luck hunting for your resort that holds your vision!

Just a quick question to those already married at DRC or those who have already put down your deposit....How long did it take for them to charge your credit card? and.... Did you do give her the info over email or did you actually have to mail her a copy of the authorization? I emailed the credit card authorization with our info and credit card info but she hasn't charge my card yet. She did confirm with me my date but I will feel much better once the deposit is down.

I just joined this forum but I too am having my wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun on 6/17/11! How many weddings do they have a day? My understanding was that there were only 2, so it must just be us that day
