Hey Meredith, What did you use the flameless tealights for?

Which lights did you bring? The ones on the actual Zavaz structure? How many did you need, and do you think it helped with lighting or was it more for ambiance? I don't think you had the paper lanterns that a lot of people use. Was the location "dressed up" enough without them? ) Just trying to determine if I really want them or not. Thanks! My WC just said to let them know, but she never gave me a cost for them. That stinks about the white sheers only being wrapped around the posts. I don't want to pay all that extra money for colored sheers, but the draping in my opinion, looks better.

Hey there, I personally am opting out of the cocktail party. I figure if I'm hosting a private reception with a special dinner, I don't want them to eat hors d'ouerves before. And like you said, there are plenty of places for them to grab a drink. They can go freshen up, whatever. I will just give them an itinerary and a time to be back at the reception location. Beautiful, beautiful photos!!

Hi Laura, Welcome to the forum! Your day does sound great, but as someone mentioned above, the heat may be difficult to stand at 11am. I have Zavaz Plaza booked for our party of 50, and every picture I've seen has been of parties. Do you think she was talking about the yoga palapa? I did hear that location is for smaller parties.

Men, they just don't understand!! Sorry your FI dissappointed you. Guys just DO NOT think the way we do, and they look at us like we're looney for obsessing over all the wedding details the way we do. Hopefully he will give it some thought and realize what you were sacrificing. I feel the same way about the symbolic ceremony. On one hand, I think having the legal ceremony already done may save/help me out with some tears and the ceremony in Mexico could then be in English. But, like you said, I want my wedding day to be the time we are joined as one. Tough decision there. Good luck. )

May I ask if you did the symbolic or legal ceremony? I'm just curious if doing the legal, and it having to be translated, takes away from the ceremony. But, on the other hand, I don't think I can do the legal before. For me, I just wouldn't feel right. Hmm....

Hi Erin, My Real touch flowers cost me $380.00 for a bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, grooms bout, 2 groomsmen bouts, 2 dads bouts, and 2 moms wrist corsages. I ordered from two different sellers on etsy. Here's my bouquet. Trying to get them down there is going to be a headache though.

You're right. I do believe Meredith did use Real touch. Shoo, just got worried for a second there. Thanks for the advice on fedex. I think I will look into some options. I have read about several brides successfully bringing Real Touch flowers without vendor fees or any other grief. If I am not mistaken, Meredith recently used them as well for her November wedding without fail. I have also read on other threads as well as ours that shipments to the resort are not allowed. I think it is for several reasons, including the fact that they do not want to be held liable. I'm not sure how many weddings they have a day, but I imagine if they allowed each bride to ship parcels down, there would be moments of confusion. I also think they don't want to bear the burden of parcels that don't make it through customs or are opened in route through customs. Have you considered finding a local FedEx and possibly having parcels shipped there and then picking them up yourself. Might be a safer bet.....IMO.

Hey girls, I was just thinking ~ with how the resort is with "not" allowing outside vendors, what is going to happen when I bring my real touch flowers? Have any past brides brought them? Also, does anyone know if they will accept items to be shipped in? I'm starting to think these OOT bags are going to be a huge headache to try and get everything there. Hmm.....
