My parents are officially dressed and ready!!! Too bad not much else is done... Going to work on a wedding website and invites this weekend. Â How are you guys coordinating your group rates with guests? I know my TA can only secure rates for a week and a half or so. I don't know how it's going to work after that, if she'll have to get a new quote, and then will I have to coordinate another group of 10 to get the rate? Also, does anyone have any recommendation on Travel Agents? The one I'm using seems quite good, but just thought I'd check with you all. (Canadian companies only) Â How did you guys ask your bridal party to be a part of your wedding? I was hoping to come up with something creative but I'm dry for ideas.

Hey ladies, Â I'm also a fellow Vancouver DW bride! Getting married April 4, 2011 at the Iberostar Laguna Azul in Varadero, Cuba. Â Just found this forum amongst this incredible site... So glad I found it! Didn't even think that their are local brides in the same boat as me. So cool!! I will definitely join you all at Giovani's on Sept. 15. I can do anytime after 5pm for those interested in going early. I'll probably pass on the hotel tour myself. Â Looking forward to seeing you all then, Â Cristina Â

Yikes!! You ladies are on it!!! Â I have soooo much to do. I haven't sent out STD cards or booked travel. Just working with the TA now trying to figure out the best options for guests. (We have people staying for 1 and 2 weeks, but on different departure dates, unfortunately.) We have yet to officially ask our bridal party--need to do that soon!!! Everyone pretty much knows that it will be an April destination wedding, so it won't be a surprise for anyone, which is why we're skipping the STD's and going straight to invites. I do (pretty much) have my dress selected -- just need to commit and take the plunge! It's soooo hard with all the beautiful dresses out there. Â Are you guys including all the details in your wedding invitation, or having a wedding website with all the travel details??

Thanks Lua!! I'm soooo excited. Everything is coming into place nicely, although it does feel kinda rushed right now trying to organize travel, dresses, etc., etc. Â My parents leave for the Baja every October and don't return until the Spring, so my Mom is wanting me to have everything done before she goes or else she'll feel like a guilty Mom leaving her daughter alone to plan the wedding. She said that she would stay in Vancouver to help me if I don't have everything set, but I told her I would feel soooo guilty if she were to do that, so I'm trying to have everything planned asap. Â Have all of you April brides organized everything already? I guess it's only 7.5 months away...

Hi Ladies! Â I am getting married at the Iberostar Laguna Azul on April 4, 2011, so I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in sharing a photographer with me?? I've found some great rates, which will be even better if we split the photographer's travel cost. Â Let me know! Â Cristina

Thanks everyone for all your input!! I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can answer... Â How much is it to have a private dinner?? I saw a note under "Private Dinner" in the ILA's wedding package that says "If you would like to have the menu included you have to pay just 15 CUC/Pax for having the restaurant booked just for your group." I wasn't sure if that means you're getting your own private menu, or if that's the cost of a private reception. Were they also serving blended drinks at the a la carte? Do you still get the speaker system if you don't book a "private" dinner? Â It says the Romantic restaurant is only for groups of 20, but has anyone had more than 20 in there? I can't imagine a restaurant of that size!! It must be tiny. Â Has anyone had a private party at the beach? What was the set up like? Were the mosquitos bad? How was their DJ?

My email address is [email protected]. Â Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have any pics of the gazebo? Or of their other ceremony set ups?? Did anyone find it dark on the terrace?? Any pics would be appreciated!! [email protected]. Â Thanks!

The Iberostar Varadero beach-side gazebo doesn't really accomodate guests though, does it? I saw some pics of people standing around the gazebo, which I wasn't too keen on, unless it was a really quick ceremony, but still. I haven't seen that many set ups on the beach that look that amazing there either. I don't know if they offer multiple set up options thought?

Yes, please post pics!!! I'm having troubles finding pictures of any weddings at the Blau. Thanks!!

THe dinner open bar includes red and white wine, beer, water, soft drinks and juice." Thanks for sharing Meli!! Does anyone know if they still offer "Dinner Open Bar"? Other questions... 1.) For those that had their ceremony at the Jellyfish, what did you do for drinks before/after the ceremony? I would like guests to be able to drink but I'm concerned 4-5 hrs of Open Bar could get expensive. 3.) Do they hold more than one wedding reception at a time? I've noticed pictures of the tents outdoors, so i was wondering if this would block the ocean view if you're having your reception indoors. 4.)What does the ceremony set on the beach ($500) include? 5.)How many guests does downstairs seat? And is there a dancefloor? Can you plug your iPod into their stereo? Thanks in advance! -
Tara, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this review! My fiancé and I have pretty much narrowed it down to the Jellyfish, and I think your post just confirms our desire to be married there! I too have had troubles with the wedding coordinators at the Majestic, which is really disappointing since I had my heart set on marrying there. Do you mind me asking how much your Photosouvenir was?? I too emailed them but they never got back to me! Did the Jellyfish also supply your flowers?? How long of a drive was it from the Majestic to the Jellyfish?? Thank you so much for everything!! Cristina

Hello fellow brides!! My fiancé proposed to me at the Majestic Colonial on April 7, 2010, so this resort is very dear to me! I was so overwhelmed with excitement that I didn't even thinking about visiting the WC on our last remaining day, even though we both have always planned to have a DW. We're hoping to return next spring for our wedding, but the prices are so steep that I'm concerned our guests are going to have an issue. Does anyone have any booking suggestions? I'm afraid to take the plunge without waiting it out a bit... Has anyone booked this resort 6 months in advance without problems?? Any good travel strategists out there?! Although our trip in April was a last minute deal, it worked out to $1409/person incl. tax.

Hi Everyone, Thanks for all your posts and info!! This site is unreal!!! I'm a newbie--just checking out the reviews on Dreams PV. We had hoped to get married in Punta Cana, where my fiance proposed this past April, but the price is astronomical so we're shifting our focus to the Pacific!! I'm hoping to find some pics of beach weddings at Dreams. I've seen the gazebo set up, but not many pics of those actually on the beach. Also, does anyone know what the town surrounding the resort is like?? I would like for some wedding shots with a little more character, in addition to the beachy ones. Thanks all!

Hey Ladies! Barcelo Los Cabos is one of the resorts I'm considering, although I'd really like to see some wedding pics first!! I don't believe the FB group had much posted of weddings at least. I'm so tempted to fly down there and visit all the resorts so I can skip the researching and get us booked!! Hope to see some of your photos soon...
