I have confired my reception at the Jellyfish for December 2nd, 2011! I can't wait! Mayte is so easy to deal with and I feel much more comfortable that our vision will be executed better at the Jellyfish than at the resort! We are still going to do our ceremony at the Majestic Colonial but then we will go to the Jellyfish for a cocktail hour and then dinner/dancing. I have booked DJ Mannia as we had decided on this a long time ago and I have heard they do a great job! I have been planning our destination wedding now for almost 2 years and I have only 4 1/2 months left to go! So excited now!!

Hey Ladies, We have just decided to move our reception from the Majestic Colonial to the Jellyfish Restaurant. We are so excited due to all the good reviews we have read. Thanks for all your comments on this site and facebook! We will be married on December 2, 2011! Only 4 1/2 months to go! Can't wait! Robyn

What kind of pants did you pick? Semi baggy??

So we received our suit yesterday! We ordered the $99 suit in White and we also got a shirt and a vest with it. Everything fits really good except the pants are a little big in the waist which is our fault. After my fiancee tried them on we looked at what we put in for the waist measurement and realized that we should have caught that the size looked too big, He usually wears a 30 or 32 depending on the pants and the Pro Measurment was 35! We are going to see if the pants fit one of the groomsmen as we are planning on ordering pants anyways for them but if not we will either get the pants brought in or just order new ones with the smaller waist measurement! I would still probably order the waist in a 33 though so the measurement wasn't too far fetched! I would definetly recommend these suits though as long as you double check all your measurements before you order!

We ordered a suit on June 25th and it was shipped yesterday! Should arrive by Friday in Canada! Will let you all know how it turns out.

Another good idea is to look for groups on Facebook. I know the Majestic has a fantastic group with tons of wedding reviews. I would not be suprised if other hotels had the same. The majestic group is Majestic Colonial Brides.

We are staying at the Adults section of the Majestic Elegance for our honeymoon week. I have heard really good things about it. I also had a friend honeymoon last year at the Gran Bahia and she said it was good as well.

We had the same decision to make. We decided to go with Punta Cana only because we had been to Mexico before but not the Dominican. This past weekend I was shopping for my bridesmaids and a wedding planner said she has been doing tons of destination weddings. She told me she has been getting lots of good reviews for the domincan but for some reason alot of brides are complaining about weddings in Mexico. She didn't elaborate as to what the complaints were but her opinion was that the Dominicans did nice weddings. I think either way you will have a beautiful wedding though!!!

You can book symbolic ceremony's early, its just the civil ceremony's that you hvae to wait for. I have already booked a symbolic ceremony for December 2, 2011.

I am new too and we are planning our wedding for late November, Early December 2011 in the Dominican as well. We have been looking at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. I know someone that was married at the Majestic Elegance last year and they said the resorts are beautiful! Best of luck planning.
