  1. It varies by resort, but most of the resort photographers photos I've seen look technically fine but lack that creativity & special something. It just depends on your priorities. Photos are the most important thing to me, so I'd rather get a cheaper cake, cheaper dress, etc. and hire a photographer that I love and that I've been able to choose myself.
  2. Very soon! Hope you come back with a wonderful review to share
  3. You can definitely have a beautiful & intimate DW on a budget. I think you'll be very pleased with the information you find here
  4. Congratulations! I don't do wedding photography anymore, but I did 2-3 years ago and it is definitely an experience being on the other side!
  5. Moved in together @ 5 months, engaged @ 6 months... it will be about 2 years by the time we get married.
  6. We met on okcupid... he didn't even have a profile or picture up, because he said he joined just to talk to me He wrote so much and I liked everything he had to say. We met 2 days later for coffee and we were pretty much joined at the hip ever since!
  7. I agree. Find someone you absolutely love and I bet they'll be willing to travel! I know I would have been back when I was doing wedding photography
  8. I did a few weeks of Insanity and was actually gaining weight... how discouraging It was a killer workout though, I kept on my HRM and it really scorched the calories. I'm going to try switching to P90x now since my FI has the dvds already and isn't using them.
  9. I found this topic in a search and wanted to know if anyone was still here and had progress updates. I have a tattoo on my chest (of all places) that's a purple heart with blue wings. I desperately want it to be gone and not be showing in my wedding dress. I went to a consultation at a tattoo shop and that guy said there was no guarantee because my colors are so difficult to remove. Then I was in tears on the way home and we drove by a MedSpa so I asked my FI if we could stop and I impulsively signed up for a package of 5 sessions at the cost of $1200. I'm now very depressed about this because I'm only seeing tiny results on only the black outline part after the first session. First off 5 won't be enough, and the way they have to be spaced out I could only fit in 7 more TOPS before the wedding next September. I don't even want to go try on dresses. I've used the Sephora Kat Von D cover up before, but it comes off pretty easily and gets on FI if he hugs me and gets on my dresses, so not the best choice when wearing white. Second, if it doesn't work that $1200 would have taken us really far for the wedding since we're on a budget. I guess I'm just hoping for a success story
  10. Go for it!! My main color is aqua and I've seen some beautiful jewelery that incorporates that color and isn't too over the top so I will most likely go with that.
  11. I've looked into the Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater a bit. They have a lot of info out there about destination weddings.
  12. beautiful photos! i've been looking at EDR for a long time, i love the ceremony setup.
  13. Beautiful photos!! Looks like it was well worth it, despite the outside vendor hassle.
  14. Just wanted to pop in and say hi from Fairfax!! We got engaged in April and are planning a wedding for either September or November of 2011.
  15. I think it's less confusing than an at-home wedding because I have less options to stress over. There aren't 1000 photographers to choose from, floral arrangements, music offerings, etc. I hate making decisions!!!

    Hi

Welcome!! This forum is so helpful, you'll find so much information!
  17. Congratulations! There is a big range depending on when you go and which hotel, I'd recommend playing around on Expedia looking at their packages for an idea. That's how I spent last night
  18. Congrats Julie! I'm considering Secrets Maroma Beach in Mexico, it looks beautiful and seems popular on here.
  19. Congrats! I'm thinking of NC too... the Outer Banks
  20. Congratulations!! There are a lot of beautiful places in the Riviera Maya area for weddings!
