With only 3 weeks left to go until we leave for my wedding, I decided on Monday that I needed to figure out what I was going to do in regards to a hair flower. I didn't want to risk ordering online somewhere and not have it arrive on time. I'm also pretty frugal. So I did a google search for a free hair flower tutorial and found one here! http://www.simplyvintagegirl.com/blog/index.php/2010/05/29/tutorial-how-to-make-lovely-fabric-flowers As a result of removing about 4ft of fabric off the train of my dress, I had a LOT of taffeta to play around with. So Monday night I sat down and got to work. Let me just say, I LOVE the result!! Here's a shot of it in my hair showing the size (before I added the jewel to the middle) And here's the final product! Ladies, if you're adventurous enough to give it a try, let me tell you, it was SO EASY to make! No lie, probably only took about 45 minutes! The only thing I have left to do is actually sew on the bobby pins!

ok ladies!!! so i went to michael's after work and got the perfect thing for my hair flower. i removed the turquoise and clear beads and then took this picture..... so you can get an idea of the size of it...don't mind my awkward angle lol And then, I glued on what I bought!! It now has to sit and dry for 24hrs. Better????? i LOVE it now! can't believe I actually made it myself - it was sooo easy! my mom actually just called and she bought fabric that matches her dress and she now wants me to make her one as well.

We got my FI's at H&M at the end of the summer last year for a very good price (under $100). Maybe they'll get them again closer to summer?

i ordered it!!! how funny is this... on oldnavy.COM, for me to order the bandeau bikini only, the total came to $75 with shipping and taxes...so i passed. just now i ordered the same bandeau bikini from oldnavy.CA, along with that tunic and the total came to $65!! sweet!

do you ladies think i'll need/wear 2 coverups? i'm thinking of ordering this:

oh my.. lol about the inlaws.. haha honestly, think they got it, but i really don't see how we're going to have the time to get them done and mailed out before we leave .. so may have to re-word them again!!! .. we'll see though. my dad said we can do all the printing at his place, so we just need to shop for paper. I'm gone all this coming weekend for my 'girls weekend', so yeah... we'll see if i feel like doing invites on one of the 2 other weekends i have left before we leave!! we did go to the polish hall yesterday though with both sets of parents and my grandma for a 'tasting' mmmm SOOO good! and my parents loved the food too, so that's a plus. ok .. way past my bed time!! lol darn Bachelor!!

thank you for your opinion!! i don't think i'm liking the beads much either now that they're on. at least i can take them off easily. i plan on going to michaels tomorrow, so maybe i'll find something good there

Lisa - i try to check walmart every week when we're there for groceries... will have to just keep checking! ... i like the first bottom out of those.

OK ladies... need your 100% HONEST opinions! (no offense taken if they're bad) so... I just made this out of some of the leftover fabric taken from my dress while watching the Bachelor (I have it paused just as he's about to propose btw) thoughts??? (please ignore the wet glue under the beads lol I was too anxious to share it) If you gals honestly think it looks ok, I'm thinking of attaching an alligator clip on the back and using for my hair flower.

Hanna - I wish!!! unfortunately they are out of stock in my size at old navy.ca Yeah, I saw the ones at boatbouse on the weekend. Was hoping to pay a bit less, but at least I know if I can't find anything by the last minute, I will go there.

Meg - I think VS downtown will be my last resort if i can't find anything (i live in Bowmanville so it's still a little trek and the price of gas doesn't make it worth the trip). i'm going to check out la senza right after work today so fingers crossed they have the one i like LMAO!! I am definitely excited for them to be built up here. There is a Zellers in my little town and I'm really hoping it's one of the first to be turned into Target!

LMAO!!! .. Target actually just bought out Zellers in Canada, so they finally ARE coming! just probably not for another year or two.. I've never been to one!

Mocha - yeah, I did check our La Vie en Rose last week when I went to get my cover-up. they do have exactly waht I want bathing suit wise, but just not at the price I'd like to spend unfortunately... I'm going to try and make it over to La Senza tomorrow after work. Or even today if I'm feeling ambitious
