FI and I are on a very tight budget for our wedding - hence why we decided on a DW in the first place! Due to this, we decided to send out STD emails to everyone to save on printing and mailing costs and then plan to send out actual invites this fall. I took these on as my first little DIY project for the wedding and here's how they turned out! I'm pretty happy with them and hope to incorporate the pattern and colour into the invites which we will DIY as well. (I designed the monogram as well)

My trip (hotel+flight) and wedding date are now officially booked!!!! Feels so great to have that big thing out of the way!

thank you SO much for posting the pictures! It makes me so excited to see pictures from the resort especially since there are so few on this site. They're fantastic and your daughter looked absolutely gorgeous!!!! My FI and I finally officially booked our trip and confirmed our wedding at the resort for april next year! Question - was there extra costs in having the arch covered in fabric? I just love that look vs. the addition of flowers.

I'm not sure where they do the wedding takes place if not on the beach. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it doesn't rain!!! .. but would also like to know. Regardless, I hope that you have an amazing trip and even more amazing wedding day!!! i also do hope that you post a review when you get back as I literally just officially booked for my FI and I for April 2011!

i was at ikea in vaughan last week and they do have some nice sized vases for $1-$2!! you should definitely check it out. I'm sure they have the same at the one in Etobicoke and the one off Leslie in north York as well. good luck!!

Our STD's went out last night!! (via email to save on costs) FI and I are officially booking today! ... things are finally rolling along

HI Ladies! I'm not really sure about what proper etiquette is for getting quotes and stuff for my potential guests. I've been working very hard the past month and a bit with my aunt (who is a TA) to get the best quote possible for the trip. We've been able to land a fabulous quote and after just recieving an extra month extention from Signature Vacations, are planning on sending STD emails tonight which will include a link to our wedding blog. On the Wedding Blog, we've included all the information on our quote along with my aunt's and her co-workers contact info so they can book through her if they like. We've also made a note on the blog that potential guests can also feel free to book with any other travel agent if they wish. So on to my little issue ... that's stressing me out. ..... And I thought planning a DW wouldn't be stressful!!! I have an issue with my other aunt --- on the other side of the family. originally FI and I didn't want to invite any kids.. just so everyone could just relax completely and not have to worry. Well this aunt follows up with a "well we can't come then because there's no one to watch the kids --- who are 15 and 9 --- unless we get your grandma to stay back and babysit". I blew up right then and there that she even thought to make my grandma miss my wedding so that her kids could have a babysitter. After that FI and decided we didn't want any family conflict so decided fine, the kids can come. Now this aunt is harping on me to try and get her a different quote for the kids and quotes for different dates for them. Is this up to me to now start shopping around for additional quotes at the potential guests request? Is it bad that I'm thinking she can just contact the TA herself for her special quote? I feel that I've already put a LOT of effort into securing a good quote for our guests for our chosen dates. Is it rude of me to just refer them to the TA if they want something different help!!! i'm going crazy over here! lol

also - forgot to add!!! we got FI's wedding attire last week (minus a belt) and we weren't even shopping for it!!! He's been wanting a linen suit and while doing other shopping last week, he spotted exactly what he wanted at H&M!!! There was only 1 suit left in stock and low and behold, in his size! It fit him like a glove and we bought it on the spot for only $100!!!!! He also bought a white button up shirt there for $15. We were on a roll so decided to walk down the mall to check out the ties at Le Chateau because they always have great colours -- we wanted to see if they had one in our wedding colour (turquoise) and they did! only 1 LEFT there too!!! so we bought that on the spot for $34 (why must ties cost so much?!) .. then we went back to H&M to see if there were any accessories he might want and he found a really nice pair of brown flip flops with a turquoise sole - which he bought for $10! FI now has his entire wedding attire (minus a belt) for only $159!!!!! I couldn't believe it! now we have one MAJOR thing crossed off our list

I guess thats all I have so far in my wedding planning... LOVE it! congrats on officially booking your big day! we have just gotten our quote for the trip extended and are now waiting for the dates that we have to pay by. once we get that (hopefully today) FI and I will be booking and confirming everything! also, once we get that quote finalized, we will be sending out STD emails (to cut back on costs). so excited!!
