  2. I'm pretty much in the same boat as everyone else around here..  - Trip is booked (flight + hotel) - deposit made -Wedding reserved and confirmed with resort - reservation for Steakhouse confirmed as well - STD emails sent - FI's wedding attire purchased -- all but a belt! - My ceremony sandals and reception shoes purchased - Jewelery for wedding purchased (necklace and bracelet) - Bands have been chosen but not purchased yet - First order from Vista Print done = photo share cards, "bride" hat for me to wear on my runs in Jamaica - Wish bracelets for guests half made - bubbles purchased; still need to make and attach labels - First aid kits for OOT bags made  And.. I'm actually going to start dress shopping this saturday!!! A local bridal shop is having their last weekend of a 25% off sale so fingers are crossed that I find something within or even BELOW budget!!! I wasn't expecting to start shopping until later on in the fall, but the lady at the shop got me concerned when she told me some dresses could take 4-6 months to come in and the holiday season won't help anything either!
  3. Welcome Cristina!!! and Congrats!!!!
  4. Â I have not heard anything about the Riu Negril going through renovations during our stay. And I trust my TA 100% as she is family and was actually just there this past May (she's also already booked herself). Also, my wedding is now booked and confirmed and i've even been in touch with the WC on the resort. We got a group quote of $1258+ tax (came to $1536 with everything in) for a week with Signature Vacations. Â
  5. yay! so many new April 2011 brides here! Â My original plan was to send out formal invites around Nov/Dec, however now that mostly everyone who I expected to come has already booked their trip, I'm almost thinking about sending invites w/ AHR info to everyone, but something different to those who are already coming - like a thank you and AHR invite? I'm not 100% sure yet..
  6. I'm so glad I saw this thread. My mom and I were actually just talking at lunch about me maybe just having a wine & cheese or tapas thing in an afternoon vs. a full out reception or BBQ (which was the original plan). The whole reason for a DW for us was to save $ and also because I'm not one for a big thing in my honour - I don't like being the center of attention. So I didn't really want a big party at home either. A little afternoon thing just might be the way to go for us!
  7. well for the next 4 weeks, i only plan to do the shred 1X a week. i'm working on speed training for an upcoming 5K (the terry fox run) with a goal to beat my previous 5K time, so I've put together a pretty intense 7 day a week training program mixing running, riding (i'm a horseback rider), strength training and the shred! Unfortunately the shred takes too long to do for nights when I have a ride and strength scheduled. When I get home at 7pm, I think it will be easier to do some strength circuits vs. the shred before making supper. Saturdays will by my shredding day so we'll see how that goes!!! Â kudos to all you ladies for keeping up with it!
  8. hey! congrats and welcome to the forum!! Whereabouts in Jamaica are you planning on getting married?
  9. Â I actually read an article last week which said pm workouts (between 5-6) just might be the most beneficial. Check it out here. Makes me feel better of not being able to workout in the am. I get up early enough as it is to get to work for 8, so I'm always working out around 6pm.
  10. yeah, maybe i'll just go check out fabricland. my mom had told me once how she always likes to attach a bandana to her suitcase when she travels to make it easier to spot. so i figured, since turquoise is my wedding colour anyway, bright turquoise bandana's on the entire group's luggage will make everyone's easy to find at airports. I'm thinking of doing an iron-on of our wedding logo as well
  11. anyone have any ideas where i could find turquoise bandanas???? or do you think i'd be better off just going to fabricland and making my own?? Â i want to give everyone one to tie on their luggage to make things easy for the entire group at the airport
  12. aww i was so excited to watch BB After Dark.. but unfortunately the new Global Reality Channel here in Canada is on Rogers only... not ExpressVu yet bummer!
  13. I wish i could offer some suggestions, but I plan to just go with the bouquet from my free package. Â good luck though!
  14. congrats and welcome!! don't be stressed you have plenty of time still!!!
  15. We're through Signature Vacations flying with Sunwing Airlines. Hopefully your TA can help get you some info asap!
  16. i'm working on trying to do this at least 3X a week. did it monday, and will try to fit it in tonight for sure!
  17. definitely doing one bag per couple - or one bag per room, because we have some singles coming. (and well my grandma and great-aunt are sharing a room, so they're going to get their own)
  18. what a great idea!! i'll just make my own wordsearches and download soduko games etc. from the web to add in my OOT bags vs buying game books!
  19. I'm sure you're TA should be able to help you out with your flight times. I already know mine for April - we're scheduled to leave Toronto at 6:45 am!!! yikes!!! lol although it's subject to change between now and then, i'm hoping it stays the same because that means an arrival in Jamaica at about 10:30!
