  1. I have an appt. November 20 to start with mine (my grandmother is going to be doing them for me). I'd like to get them done asap so I don't have to worry about it.
  2. glad to see i'm not the only one who can't open this. Must be some sort of glitch. Looking forward to seeing it though!
  3. knitgirl - you're definitely not doomed. i might even just skip STD's if i were you though and send invites instead (if you were planning on doing both) .. (ie. FI and i send email STD with plans do send invites later, but everyone who is coming have already booked so we're skipping official invites for the wedding and will only be doing some for the AHR once we return) Regardless, you'll just want to let people know asap so they have a chance to save
  4. Ellabaja - glad to hear things are going so well now I just got my alteration appt. for November 20! my grandmother's friend is a professional seamstress and is helping my grandma do the alterations - for free come January we'll all be kicking it into high gear with all the other details! so exciting!!!!
  5. so glad you had a better experience mocha. any idea when your custom dress will arrive?
  6. yikes!!! Sorry to hear this! i experienced the opposite with signature vacations - once FI and I booked, they held 30 seats on the plane for us for 90 days!
  7. aww Mocha ... a longshot but are you anywhere near Durham Region??? i'd totally go with you if you were!
  8. aww good luck tonight mocha!!!
  9. aww Brandy sounds like you defintiely had a less-than-stellar experience. is the next place you're heading to any smaller than david's? sounds like i really lucked out at the small shop i went to (i mean small too! it was in a house!)
  10. I got the same sort of spiel from the ladies "people where whatever they want on a beach now" ... i think girls are nuts to wear a heavy gown in the carribean unless they have some magical power that stops them from sweating! lol.. mine looks heavy with all the pick-ups in the skirt however it's super light and fluffy. i'm also keeping the back of the corset open so hopefully that will prevent me from getting too too hot!
  11. Welcome Ismith!! and congrats!!! Yes we got an early booking bonus too with Signature - hence why we have to pay this week. worth it though and it also helped get people to book early.
  12. omg i totally hear you about the fabric and heavy factors! i couldn't believe how heavy some were when i tried them on!!! when i had certain ones on i knew if i were to wear it in jamaica i'd probably pass out!!! lol
  13. oh the joys of being short eh? I'm only 5'3 so i feel your pain. I'm currently swimming in my dress!! hence why it needs some major alterations in the shortening dept. mine's a 2 piece though so the corset top really helped to balance things out for me. here's hoping you have more success at the next shop!
  14. Ellabaja - I think it's so early because we had such a great group rate with Signature Vacations. We booked in July with a $150 deposit having to pay in full by Oct 31. The cool thing though is that we are eligable for 1 price drop up to 60 days before we leave. So needless to say, we'll be keeping a close eye on the rates and if we see a drop at any time, we'll take advantage and get some $ back. The other cool thing about it (well not at this moment) is that having it paid so early will make things easier when we're closer to the wedding. It will be nice come Jan/Feb knowing that we've already paid for it and only have to pay for the minister and any extras we want when we get to the resort.
  15. Brandy - how did it go at David's?
  16. thanks Ellabaja!!! i'm hoping they still have all of these flowers in a month or so. FI reminded me yesterday that our trip has to be paid in full this month! (along with my ring) so i need to hold off making any purchases right now! oops!
  17. Ashley - everything is looking amazing so far! can't believe how much you have done!!! your boudoir pics look fantastic!! and i just have to say i am so excited to see you found the i do stickers locally!!! i've been wanting some for my shoes as well so Michaels here i come this weekend!!
  18. thanks! i'll take a look over lunch. Lisa - the colours do look great together don't they!? way better than the plain purple orchids that i would have gotten with my free bouquet at the resort. and hey, i say just sneak a few gerberas in there
  19. awww i missed it -- my screen here at work is wonky and some pics from afloral won't load for me.. can you post the link to it and i'll check at lunch?
  20. oh yeah for sure. also to make FI's bout. too. this will already be under $50 because our dollar is close to par right now. so that's already WAY better than buying an already made silk boquet for $150! yay for saving $!
  21. wrapped in a white ribbon with a smaller turquoise ribbon doing the criss-cross (like the green ribbon in the img above)
  22. ok -- (ee i'm excited!) i'm thinking this: with 5 of these: and 5 of these:
  23. it was when i saw this that i knew i had to have the blue gerberas. i just don't want to spend over $100 lol (i'm a cheap-o lol) ok... i think i have my combination... 1 sec
