  1. No, it's cotton - much lighter/cooler than linen. really nice shirt though. he actually got the same shirt in white too to wear for the actual wedding. the teal/turquoise one is just for him to wear for dinner one night
  2. FI got a really nice short sleeved shirt same as that second swatch you have there brandy -- H&M for like $15
  3. Bailey those shoes are great!!! Have you checked H&M for a shirt??? my FI got his entire outfit there last summer.. and I've noticed that they're already starting to get the spring line in (around here at least)
  4. wow! that Venus.com site is awesome!!! never heard of it before but shipping rates are GREAT!

  7. My mom just sent me this She's thinking of getting it for her wedding day dress. what do you guys think?
  8. we're pretty bang on budget so far ($5K) .. but i'm not very picky either we're doing the free wedding package at our resort with no real upgrades (only the cake to accomodate our guests)
  9. Erin, I'm also sorry to hear about your crappy night. By the sounds of it though, I think you make the right decision to walk down the aisle alone. You're going to look gorgeous no matter what!!!!
  10. jillian's dvds are REALLY great. I have 3 of them and my favs are the 30-Day Shred and 6-Week 6-pack. I have her No More Trouble Zones but DAMN it's hard!!!! lol I have yet to complete that one all the way through
  11. oh! i almost forgot to tell you ladies! since i'm not exactly getting a shower or bachelorette or anything (due to my lacking in the friends dept). my mom told me she's taking me, my brother's wife and my other brother's fiance away for a weekend march 19! we're going here http://www.briars.ca/ for a relaxing girls only weekend! .... all while FI has his -- GET THIS -- 'bachelor party' at the local video game store playing games all night! ahahaha
  12. Lisa - have you tried Jillian's 30-Day Shred yet??? if not, it's an amazing workout and literally only takes 30 min!
  13. I will definitely keep you guys posted on the dress I'm going to make I wish I could remember the pattern # so i could find a pic. Essentially picture a little dress with a bubble skirt and 1 strap (that goes diagonally across the chest and back). i'm excited to get started!
  14. Lisa - will definitely post pics when i get back this weekend! (that reminds me i should charge my camera tonight) that's exciting about you starting with a trainer! (brandy too!) i'm sure you girls are going to do awesome! I actually made a crazy decision fitness-wise yesterday...... lol i'm going to keep going as is for the next 3 weeks and then i will be starting a 12 week-long training program to run a HALF MARATHON!!!! !! My goal race is May 22, so i'm going to start my 12-week training plan a week early as I don't see myself running 19 miles during my week in Jamaica!! haha so i'm going to take a week off for the trip and maybe only do one or two runs when i'm south. it's pretty crazy, but i'm excited!! My training officially starts Feb 22 and from then on i'll be running 4X a week!
  15. apola - welcome! welcome!!! you should defintiely stick around here (we're quite the chatty bunch and it's awesome!) looks like you're on the right track with what you have done! everything looks great!!! i also love those flipflops! where did you get them?
  16. finally a break in my work!!!! (busy week! Brandy - glad your paperwork made it there safe and sound! BIG thing on my wedding agenda this weekend --- Picking up my DRESS!!! Alterations are done, so FI and I are making the 4hr trek to my hometown tomorrow night (really hoping there's no surprise snow storms along the way!). I have an appointment with the seamstress at 11 on saturday and she said if it's still too long, or too short, she will fix it right then and there. So I'm for sure taking it home! The other cool thing is that I requested that she keep all of the extra fabric (theres A LOT that was to come off). I'm looking forward to seeing how much there is because I've recently bought a pattern for a super cute dress that i'm going to try and make With that fabric!! The plan is to wear that dress for the rehersal dinner and then at the AHR. Ideally there will be enough fabric left for the whole dress, if not here's hoping there's enough for the skirt portion!
  17. oh mocha - check le chateau for ties (if you haven't yet). they usually have a great colour selection
  18. AMAZING planning journal Sarah!! You did such a fantastic job with every little detail. Congrats to you and your new hubby!!!
  19. Great dress mocha!! and I agree, the guys would be fine without a jacket .. that way your FI will stand out
  20. correction $125 for the lisence here and $250 for the civil service lol
  21. char - everything looks great!!!!! that's nuts about the fedex fees and such... but at least it *is* still cheaper than the courthouse. I was looking aruond here and if we were to have a civil ceremony in the courthouse here, it's $150 for the license and I think $250 for the ceremony... don't you just love how anything "wedding" must cost us?? lol
  22. here's hoping it gets there safe and sound!
  23. Fingers crossed for you brandy!!! we're going to have to start getting all of our paperwork together in the next few weeks.. i'm pretty sure it just has to be there 30 days ahead. dow did you send it?
