  1. Hi Ladies, So I have been in contact with Katie from Zuniga/Deco Cancun and she is super nice and super super helpful. Anyway, FI and I were interested in having some sort of entertainment and was thinking of fire dancers. However; after the video that Katie sent, we are going to save the $500 and spend it on the DJ. We decided this because the firedancers were not what we expected and after 5 minutes of watching the clip we both looked at each other and said we will pass. Here is a clip if interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA_32Oi2QRw
  2. Hi Beatyea, You are accepting what's in the contract but you can also change things as time goes on "get a new contract or have things adjusted where and when needed."
  3. We have switched to a lighter blue, so just going a little lighter. I'm keeping me shoes though!!!!!
  4. Thanks so much for the PM, I'm going to do what you suggested and read first. So, I'm sure to contact you before I get started. As far as planning I actually have all of my documents in folders on my external hard drive. I have folders from Dresses to Shoes, etc..and as I gather I delete not to get side tracked. I'm pretty set on what I want, now its about finding the best vendor or purchase what I want. This little stuff adds up quick so, I figure I will purchase as the time pass not to be hit all in the end. Well it's time for me to sign off and say good night. I truly can say that I have spent my day today here.. LOL
  5. I'm a MAC girl myself and I agree with the above!
  6. KRSSMITH you go with your bad self!!!! Your sizzling hooottttttt I love your plans, they are coming together rather nicely and your dress is so beautiful! Deco is definitely doing my centerpieces as I don't want to haul that much stuff. I'm going to Luna bazaar for my lanterns they have so many gorgeous colors and textures. They can string them for you (look at Vgirls thread). So I think I will go that route as well. Gosh you got me so excited!!! I need to get on the planning (smile). I'm going to PM you because I saw your post on another site and I would like to get your feedback on something.
  7. Ladies, I just ordered 3 sets of maracas (light blue, dark blue and pink) as I wanted to get a true picture of the colors. They will be here on Friday. How's that for turn-a-round. I'll take a picture and post once received.
  8. Miss Sunshyne, We are shoe twins...although I think I'm going to change but I love love love them
  9. Ladies, Let's not apologize for venting because we all need it and this is a safe way of doing so. Doesn't it feel good to let go? So if nothing more, I am an ear that knows and will listen, and where appropriate respond. Out of all of this, the great thing is that you and "your daughter" have a great relationship! That is something that not even the mother can take away. Remember it is "who you are" and what "you do" that will count in the end. Because even children grow and they will see with their own eyes. From the mouths of babes, my 10 year old said to his grandma (Yeye) which he calls her "When my mom and Mr. Derick (FI) gets married, I might call him dad although he will be my step-dad. He does things with me, listens to me and he always have the best old cartoons. I can't wait until they get married and we all live together." Needless to say I was smiling so hard that it turned to tears. This is from a child who hasn't seen his dad since I graduated from grad school in 04' Each person makes their own bed to lie in, but we can't dictate or control when in that time will come. Keep up the GREAT work ladies Quote: Originally Posted by nadennec I know exactly what you're talking about! Of course he wants to spend as much time with her as possible, but it was more like she was just using him as a babysitter so she could see her boyfriend. One time she even called on her way in town and made us cancel our plans so we could wait for her, she had his daughter call and say she was coming to see him, then didn't pick her up until Monday at 5am so she could drive back out of town to get his daughter to school, which I did not agree was healthy for his daughter to be traveling like that. I believe a child needs some sort of stability, especially with the crazy mom she has! She has always made life so difficult for us because its always about her, not their daughter. We've never had a good relationship, but the past year or so she has seemed to warmed up to me. My FMIL says I should be careful bc its all an act. My FI even found out recently that a year ago she was calling his family in another state ALL the time, out of no where, trying to get in good with them so they would convinve my FI to leave me and go back to her!!! But regardless of all this, his daughter and I have a great relationship. Its been difficult at times early on bc before we talked about marriage and kids he always made comments to everyone that no child could ever be as perfect as her, and he didn't even want to bother trying. So this definitely made me feel like if we had children he would love them as much as her. But after alot of talking about things we've gotten through it. Sorry to vent, but I've never really been to talk to anyone that understands what I'm going through, and so glad I found this thread!
  10. Send whatever you have.... I'm sure I'll find a way to use it.. LOL Oh do you have Katie's email I don't see her listed on the website. Dang I love this site. I'm home today so I'm like totally stalking the page teehee
  11. Arrggh I despise women/men like that. Just pain in the butts for no reason Well, I support you keep doing what you have been and you and FI stand strong.
  12. Lilstar, I'm opening the file as we speak. This site is amazing, thanks a bunch. Ewwww pretty pretty. Going to luck fully now ;-) Quote: Originally Posted by lilstar714 Yes Zuniga aka deco cancun. She sent me tons of pictures of many other centerpieces no prices but i would just tell her which one and she would send me the price. I also got quoted for lounge seating. i hope this works this is an slide show she sent me Centros%20de%20mesa%20Centerpieces[1].pptx
  13. Go Adales, Wait you just got the maracas from amols in right? Totally I understand the whole daddy and daughter bond. That's great that you two were able to work through that.
  14. That's awesome. Thanks again for posting. I love this site
  15. I'm bringing my own linens to ensure that I have the colors to match (chair sashes, & table runners only). The chair sashes will be moved from the wedding to the reception. I'm bringing my own lanterns that will match as well as I think Zuniga only has white but from what I read this will bring your cost down. Otherwise, deco will provide my actual centerpieces. I'm not going with the dance floor, and more than likely those that want to continue to party we are going to go to the disco or whatever they have on site. 16. Yeah lilstar714 I just emailed david from deco cancun but if he doesn't respond then I'll move to Katie ;-) I'm bringing our items for the wedding set-up and deco will handle the reception aspect of things. I'm hella busy so doing as much as possible now will save me from killing somebody later ;-) Plus my bridesmaids are all over the globe so I need to have things in order to make their visit productive. I'm going to start trying on dresses late summer at the latest. But I already have sample pictures along with the bridal shops that carries the designers that I like. MoonPalaceBride I hear you regarding the DJ.. the ipod but this is our flex pricing. So we have wiggle room on this one. So if the prices of everything else caps out we will do the ipod lol
  17. Zuniga aka Deco Cancun is one of the preferred vendors (according to other brides on this site), they are the ones to supply/set-up the wedding packages that MP sale. I just sent them an email for a quote. It appears that they do not have a booklet for pricing. What I did was sent inspiration pictures of the lounge area, and centerpiece set up that I would like. I have heard that they can range in price but I have to keep in mind that FI and I are packing for two trips Cancun and Hawaii so we have no desire to bring the centerpieces ourselves. I'll post the info once I get a response
  18. OMG adales, You are the best. I was just going back and forth with my decision to do amols or mischka designs and although I love love love her work the price difference is huge plus navigating paying shipping only to drag them back to mexico. Thanks so much for posting. How as the ordering process and turn a round time? Are these the large or medium?
