Well, since I am home today I am going to run some errands and work on a few DIY projects while the men folk are at school and work ;-) I contemplated on doing a planning thread but figured it would probably take-up most of my day (even with me being organized) & I thought it best not to unveil everything yet, as the ever "so popular date" of April 21, 2012 is booked solid with 8 weddings at MP. With so many brides getting married on the 21st of April, I think this is a safe move. So with that said, I will post a few simple pictures of projects in the making. As always, if you would like any templates that I have I will be more than happy to email them. Here are the tags that I made for our Oh Sh*t & Naughty Nite kits. Along with the wedding weekend survival tag. I did a lot of word play throughout our Website, DIY etc.. on my future last name "Wright" so here we go: Made with Metallic Card Stock from paperandmore.com $29.99 for 100 Again using the metallic card stock These are my oh sh*t kit bags (fuschia organza bags)that one of the above tags will go on. My Naughty Night Kits are in turquoise organza bags (I have to take pictures) Most of the extra contents in the bag I actually sold to two MP-12 future brides (thanks ladies)

Sarah does great work! Sweet STDs -
The custom ones take a minute to get so make sure you don't plan to send out your invites within the next too weeks because this is how long it could take. Ladies, In my initial search I looked up all of the names mentioned below. And they all seemed great and have great reviews from people on this site. I don't need my hair done as I have natural hair (sisterlocks) so the prices that most listed would be adjusted for Hair only. But after much research I went with Norma Perez (she's on Facebook) with tons of pictures..... and this is what sold me as she worked with so many beautiful skin colors and tons.... However; if I didn't have pictures to go off of it would have been hard to pick between her and Sara. Sara is the sister of Sol Tamargo of the infamous Del Sol and just relocated back to the area so you may not find many pictures.. But if she is like her sister her work will be incredible. http://www.saratamargo.com/ Norma Perez link to FB https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1871904751783.106465.1066068329 Quote: Originally Posted by ndvidul Me too, Jamie -- I've been researching this myself. These are some good things I've read in reviews on here about the MP salon (below). I'm also considering hiring someone outside the resort -- was looking at Sara Tamargo who uses MAC, but she doesn't have many pics up on her site (saratamargo.com). Also, I asked for prices from Melissa from MVP, who seems like she'd be GREAT, I'm just not sure if I can rearrange our budget to book her. (If you want her prices, PM me.) Also heard good things about someone named Adrian who uses MAC (but don't have any further info unfortunately) and someone named Fernando Fuentes whom I haven't researched yet. I hope some of this helps. I'm curious to also know what you find out. Would you be willing to share some of your findings with me? I absolutely loved Doris. From the trial to the day of, she impressed me with her work. She was very sweet and nice. I brought in pictures as examples and she knew exactly what I wanted. I was a little nervous for makeup since I didn’t have a trial but for the first time ever, I didn’t look like a drag queen. I brought my own makeup and lashes and she used a mix of mines and hers and it was perfect. The heat did mess with the lashes because by the end of the night, they were coming off. But my makeup stayed on really well and I was really impressed and felt really beautiful the day of my wedding. SALON A++: I got my hair done at the Nizuc salon by Maria. They wouldn’t let me choose who would do my hair, but I was very happy with Maria. I have a lot of hair, so my appointment took about 2 hours and 15 minutes! I am very happy I scheduled for an hour earlier than they had recommended! She did an amazing job. I brought several pictures, and she did almost exactly what I wanted. She did try to put in a bump at the crown (which I did not want and was not pictured) and was pinning the curls in front in such a way that it almost looked like a halo, but once we fixed that, it truly was perfect! My only complaint would be that it didn’t hold up very well. Curls were falling out before I even go to the ceremony, so I’d say bring lots of hairspray and extra bobby pins for touch ups. Our wedding was scheduled to start at 3:00 so I booked my hair and makeup for 11:30. My appointment was booked with Alberto, and he did a fabulous job. He did my hair exactly like the pictures I provided and was able to cover up my peeling forehead with a great makeup job.

Thanks Girly ;-) Yup sure did. Way more expensive then purchasing stamps at the post office, like 2 times more especially for the number of invites we sent out. But no regrets at all. I used zazzle for our STDs but they were of our monogram.... Suggestion for you or anyone that plans to use zazzle or making your own stamps. Take your package to the post office first to see the cost first. We have a machine at the job so I just had my receptionist check

YAY!!!!! I just finished talking to my MOH who resides in VA she was ranting and raving about our invites! Then I get a text at 2 minutes ago from my soon to be nephew who says "Auntie, I just got the invite and the stamp with the picture is hot!!" Ladies, I just mailed these off at 5pm last night when the post office was about to close. The postal worker too my box and said she would get them in.. (of course I called today to confirm, these are our invites right =) LOL Now last nights mailing was the pa, va, md, nj invites. Gotta love our Postal Workers! But I'm thinking that I should have waited one more to day mail these off to give time for my TX, AK, CO, WA folks to get theres... Wow another text received which said Ok, just took my invite out of the mail and I don't want to open it" it's too pretty! Luv the Stamp! Do the darn thing, momma! Go big or go home lol. it continues to say "Chanel, a passport invite for real? That's it, when the Lord blesses me with "the One", you are planning my wedding! I am super excited now. YAY.... go Sarah from Sproullie Designs...

This is a good question to post on 2010 and 2011 MP forums. From what I have recalled many have used them, some brides even bringing their own make-up. I know that there where quite a few names that brides were passing around regarding those that has done a good job. I hired Norma Perez in Cancun. Unfortunately, I didn't see many African American women either getting married at MP and/or having their make-up done. This day is too big to have a flop like that so I hired someone (aside from it being to costly to fly my makeup artist in).

Cheap centerpiece ideas, that travel well?

We plan to do this as well! Glad to see someone else did and it looks amazing-) -
That's great! I wish I could have a meet and great prior to but, with so many of our guest being so far (Alaska, Colorado, Texas etc..) there is no way. And I truly didn't want to do the some now and some later so with that said, since I have 6 bridesmaids they will all share in helping us get the items to Cancun. ;-) I'm so glad that I am almost done with the DIY'ing so no more sleepless nights (well until our day approach). I've cut most projects now we have a new printer at work so those 2-3 things left to print will be done as soon as they hook the copier up to our IP address.. YAY Watcha working on?

Weight Loss/Fitness Support for 2012 Brides!

LalaJ, I prefer to use both! For my workouts I start with the 30 day shred and then go right into Zumba. I will usually do Zumba for about 15-20minutes and then cool down. -
Hola Ted731, Most if not all contracts have that clause written in them. Some fight to have it remove and/or reworded. The bottom line is you can use an outside vendor however; you will end up either paying a day pass $88 or a vendor fee $388 (approximate). I don't have a complete list, however; I think ndivdul asked and I belive the coordinator forgot to attach. However; Zuniga/Deco Cancun is an approved vendor for decor (and the team that actually arranges the sapphire etc.. wedding packages). I also know that Del Sol/La Luna has a good report with them and otherwise will access a day pass versus the vendor fee. Del Sol prices do not compare to the resorts photog nor can you even begun to compare their pictures to those offered. They are quite expensive, however; their pictures are worth every penny from what I have seen. Personally, if FI and I haven't purchased our home admist wedding planning I would have hired them. But will undoubtely plan to work with them in the not so distance future (probably for a one year boudoir shoot). Hope this helps
