  1. So, I decided to call the airlines to see how much an upgrade to first class would be...haha...I just about laughed at the person on the phone! It would cost over $930 per person! AHH! That is more then our photography budget! So I guess we will stick with our original plan of arriving early and giving the flights attendents sweet smiles and hope for the best! One option I did find though, was that I could buy a one day pass for the Presidents club during our 3 hour layover. So we will be able to get free drinks and snacks and relax first-class style during our next flight! It ended up being $50 which I thought would be a fun suprise for FI!
  2. SOOOO...ladies need your help because you always have great advice! Last weekend at my bridal shower, my sis(and MOH) suprised me with a "seashell wreath" for my wedding dress. Our friend had made it. I think it was very sweet and she got pretty close to what I was looking for but....I don't love it. In fact I only kinda like it. It was not what I was looking for and I didn't know they were doing this so i didn't not get to put my input into it at all. It's less glamorous then I had hoped and looks more "cutesy". It also doesn't have an actual "veil" on it which I was really wanting. What do I do??? I feel terrible and it is giving me a lot of anxiety. With only 13 days before we leave I am feeling a lot of pressure. Do I just go with it and wear it even though it doesn't feel right? Do I reveal that I don't love it and see if something can be changed? Or do i just look to buy something else? Please help me!
  3. Perfect! it looks like you have thought of every detail! I want to be a guest at your wedding...haha! So exciting to have another May bride share her experience! I LOVE the hair inspiration picture on the upper right, with the side bun that is loose and curly. where can I find that?
  4. I have booked my DW at Coral Cove for May 7th,2011! Less then two weeks away! I will make sure to do a detailed review on my return!
  5. I hope everything worked out for you as well. I think the best advice given here was to get some pre-marriage counseling. It really helps to talk to someone about your feelings and learn how to communicate your wants and needs to each other.
  6. Great pictures Lua! Looks like you had a lot of fun! Love the side braid look too!
  7. Totally, if only I had six inches more of hair I bet I could do a lot with it!
  8. I agree with the ladies above. but we are not you and don't know about all the great, wonderful times you have had together that led you to ask her to be your MOH. Sometimes it's helpful to look at the relationship as a whole and decide if it is worth losing forever. If it is, then it might be time to move on. If not, then this might be a bumpy time in your relationship but if she was your family you probably wouldn't consider cutting her out of your life. Good luck with all of this and hopefully you can look back at your wedding as a happy memory and not focus on what didn't happen.
  9. Awesome! Looks like a beautiful wedding and a fun trip!
  10. Such great photos! They were so creative! I LOVE the one of the both of you sitting under the umbrella on the beach! Congrats!
  11. I like your inspiration pictures! I am trying not to get too stuck on one idea for my hair, in case she is unable to recreate it and it looks worse then the picture. i figured I am better off with doing something that she has a lot of experience with and would maybe do a better job at. What do you ladies think?
  12. Thanks greysgirl! It's always nice to hear from another "twobie" who decided to go the same route as we did! I believe I read your review on the April 2011 thread! Congrats on your new marriage and keep us updated on how the AHR turns out!
  13. Awesome! Thank you so much! Now that I am only two weeks from leaving it is getting so exciting!
  14. The alterations also cost us about the same amount, which was quite a bummer. So the whole "$99 linen suit" deal that sounded so great anded up being a lot more then that!
  15. We are also doing TTD and having a formal AHR where he will need to wear the suit again. We decided not to chance it and bought linen pants and another white button up shirt. Figured since I paid so much after altering the thing, I didn't want to chance it.
  16. Hi! I loved your review! I am not getting married at RIU but am getting married in JA in less than three weeks! Could you give me your opinions on JA travel in general? How was the airport? Weather? Any fun tours or activites that you would recommend? Thanks! Congrats!
  17. I am so sorry to hear about your experience with them. I am thankful that you had friends who were able to take beautiful pictures so that you can remember them. Thank you very much for your review though. they were my option for the hotel's photographer, and although she was very friendly I wasn't happy with her quality. I ended up spending twice as much on a photographer plus a vendor fee but I am hoping that in the end it will be worth it. again, thank you for your honest review.
  18. thank you, you are right! Now what to do about all the guests that still have not rsvp'd?
  19. Yay! So excited to hear about all of you girls having bachelorette and bridal showers! I also had my bridal shower this weekend and it was so fun! My future SIL handmade paper flowers from maps of Jamaica as the centerpiece! it was so creative and thoughtful! They also had a fun game planned where the guests had 45 seconds to pack as many items as possible into a small suitcase! Everyone was laughing! I also finally got around to "pre-packing" where I organized everything we are taking and tried to fit it in our suitcases. I learned that we needed bigger suitcases! lol I also learned that FI hardly had any outfits that actually matched! So I went on some huge shopping sprees and now he is finally set for the trip as well! 16 days and counting!
  20. glad to hear another groom that isn't afraid of a little "grooming"! lol I gently talked mine into hair cut, eyebrow wax, and pedicure. he was so not down for any chest waxing though! lol I am pretty much getting the works done...might as well! I also prefer to get the treatments done by professionals that I have a relationship with here versus someone I just met. I am getting bridal hair and makeup done on the big day however.
