  1. I am overly excited to share my photos and experience with Misha Earle! Ever since we contacted her she was always prompt to respond and seemed genuinely excited to work with us. I knew that we wanted to work with her after seeing her previous client albums and checking her face book which has lots of great reviews. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Misha-Earle-Photography/145563925464300?sk=wall&filter=1 Since it was just the two of us we had a small budget but decided that the money was well worth keeping the memories forever! Having her as our photographer was one of my best decisions! She brought along an assistant as well who was a very charming young man(and i think was her son). They both arrived right on time which was a relief since our resort was so remote and hard to get to. They were wonderfully energetic which helped me relax and fully enjoy the day. I feel like they helped me to be the best that I could be and that showed through the pictures. My husband is really not a fan of taking pictures or posing and Misha put him right at ease. I think these pictures have captured him so relaxed and joyful. I will forever be grateful to Misha for giving me a gift that will last a lifetime! Here is my slide show! http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/deanna_joe I hope you all enjoy!
  2. So cute. Same thing with our daughter. She is almost four and so happy that mommy is getting married and will have the same last name! I hope that she will look back at our wedding pictures and be happy that she was part of our special day.
  3. My professional pics are up!!! Misha Earle was our photographer and I am so beyond happy with how the photos turned out! I hope the link works! http://mishaearle.myshowit.com/deanna_joe
  4. Yes we have bought a projector and plan on doing a short 5-min slideshow of all our professional photos!
  5. That's what I thought too. Especially since there are only 80 guests at our AHR. lol Oh well that is her gift and it is a generous one!
  6. I think this is pretty common as it happened to me as well! My parents and in-laws wanted all of the same things as yours. we had to talk to all of them about it and explain that we couldn't afford everything extra but if it was important to them would they be able to help us with the cost. They all wanted the traditions and said that it was something that they had always dreamed of us having. So we decided that it was there day as well and found a happy medium. I hope it works out for you as well
  7. Onward and upward ladies! Let's not let one person's remark get us in a negative mind set! My AHR is just three weeks away now and boy do I have a lot to do still! Need your help. My MIL wants to throw a night before dinner(kind of like a rehearsal but we aren't rehearsing anything lol) which i think is really sweet and am really looking forward to it. I want to thank everyone who is in our "wedding party" for all their help and our immediate family. MIL also wants to invite all of the family that traveled from out-of-state which turns a small intimate dinner to about 45 people! Is this what is "usually" done for rehearsal dinners? Seems like a lot of money for my MIL. what do you think?
  8. A DIY photobooth sounds so fun! I bet your guests will love that! Are you showing the video back at your house?
  9. I bet it's a whole lot cheaper and less stress which seems nice to me! It was our parents who really wanted a formal reception however since it was only us two for the DW. It is there wedding gift to us. i really am looking forward to seeing all my family and friends to celebrate, but phew it's a lot of work! Just my luck, my photog sent a sneak peek last night and we should have all our photos by tonight!
  10. The wedding blues have now been replaced with AHR stress! Last night met with the planner and realized that with less then a month to go, i still have so much left to finalize! Silly things like song selection, sandals for my daughter, etc but it still seems like a lot! I am also now Dying to see my professional pics! It's been over a month since the wedding and I am just getting so impatient! lol Hope you all are well! Any one else doing AHR planning?
  11. Sounds like a good plan! I know that i have def started to get the "wedding blues" even though I still have my AHR in one month! You will LOVE Jamaica!
  12. I so feel ya! In Jamaica, they don't live the 9-5 life and everything seems so much less stressful. I have been fantasizing about how we can move out to the Carribbean and enjoy that lifestyle. Are you planning on staying at the same resort next time or traveling somewhere else?
  13. Hi there! We stayed at Coral Cove Resort and Spa which was about 30 mins out of Negril. Ooh hard question-everything that we did was so memorable. I think taking a day trip into Negril was def. memorable. We went to the Negril Craft Market, ate lunch on the beautiful 7-mile beach and swam in the crystal clear water. It was fun to explore the city for the day and then retreat to our private, romantic and very peaceful resort.
  14. Hi Ladies! I just got back from my destination wedding in Jamaica! I didn't choose a "villa" persay but rather a "boutique hotel" for all the same reasons that you listed. Since it was only the two of us, it felt very special to enjoy our special day together. It was perfect! The morning of the wedding we went kayaking, snorkling, and just relaxed together. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my wedding day. I know that it can be stressful with all the planing but let me reassure you that it is MORE then worth it! Good luck to all of you!
  15. This seems to be a common problem with brides-to-be, I was also really stressing out about it as well. The only thing you can really do is talk to him about it, but know that he is probably not going to ever be in "full wedding mode". I instead used my sister and close girlfriends for advice, help, etc and that seemed to work a lot better then trying to get my hubby super involved.
  16. Beautiful! Your wedding looked amazing! I am glad that everything turned out so perfectly! Congrats!
  17. Wow! Great job! I am recently married this month and one of the best decisions was making him a BD photo book! He was truly shocked and I gave it to him right before the ceremony so the photographer got his face of shock on camera!
  18. Hi ladies, I just got back from my amazing wedding in Jamaica! Let me assure you.....it is beautiful! You will all have a wonderful time! If you get a chance, get out of your resort and explore the island! We were able to see a lot of the island and it was all so worth it! Good luck with all your planing!
  19. I also just returned from my flights on Contenental and ha no problems at all. On each of my four flights they hung my dress for me in the closet. It did get quite wrinkled, but looked perfect on the big day after the hotel steamed it for me!
  20. Hello to all my BDW friends! I am back from Jamaica after the most amazing wedding and honeymoon! Can't wait for all the pro pics to get back and to be able to start writing my reviews! Unfortunetly, I got really sick when I returned so I have been in bed for the past seven days-it sucked! Feeling better now though and ready to start preparing for the AHR this summer! Thank you all for your help, and I will be posting pics soon!
  21. My flight for tomorrow has also been changed. Luckily only by a few minutes, I am hoping they wouldn't change it again so close to the departure time!
  22. i think the best route to go would be to have the sister "host" the AHR that way your guests will be invited by her and not you. This way it is more suitable for an intimate guest list!
  23. thank you for your answer! My flight is tomorrow and I am still nervous about the dress!
