I feel your pain, I know how that would make me feel, to be honest I dont really want to even have a reception at home but I felt it would be important to have for those who could not make it for money or travel reasons. I feel really bad for those who cant make it and they have told me they will def be at the reception back home and I would be totally pi**ed if those people didnt even come, so I can see where your coming from completely!! Just wanted to pop in and see how you ladies are coming along on the planning, we are all about 8 months out before our wedding!! What have you done/accomplished so far?

I guess you could say I started planning 2 years out, my wedding date will be 2 years to the day we got engaged. I knew I wanted to get married in March or april, and I felt like I needed more time than a little less than a year to plan, plus I wanted to finish school because I knew I couldnt work full time, go to school part time and plan a wedding! I just took my time and started researching places I wanted to get married, that took me quite a while to decide that, then we had to pick a date that would work out for us and for our families, and it wasnt until this June that I actually booked the place and now the planning is full force ahead lol!

I can totally see where your coming from, I would just ask if he could wait until after the wedding, but still while at your destination.

I just received my "will you be my bridesmaid" cards by Rebecca (Allurements) and I love them! They are a z fold style card tied with aqua ribbon. Here is the front of the card, which has their names on them (ribbon not tied) and with the ribbon tied and here are the inside panels Im also giving each of them a luggage tag with their initial on them with the cards (I found the luggage tags at michaels in the dollar bins)

As far as DIY Im not sure, Im not very crafty either and Im very picky so I know I would pick my own work apart, but Im sure there are plenty of ladies on here that can help you with the DIY part. As far as purchasing them (which is what I did) there are alot of people that do them, a few came off of this site. I used Rebecca (Allurments by Rebecca) she comes highly recommended by me!

Our STD was a passport, and one of the stamps said "we will have a repeption at home when we return from the wedding" This way people who could not make it felt better knowing we would have reception at home as well.
