My TA wasn't informed of this until I pointed it out to him...so it's not like they're even telling the people who are already booked!!! I knew there might be some minor construction, but it's sounding like they're doing a major revamp of all the rooms as well. So, I may have to move to the Sensatori...which sounds wonderful as well. I'm hoping that if that's the case, we get a HELLUVA deal on our rooms because of the situation. Silver linings!!! The Sensatori is wonderful. My FI and I did a site inspection of 5 resorts in April and ended up going with Sensatori. The differences are: Beach-smaller and Mexican decor, Sensatori-440-ish rooms and more modern decor. Who knows I might see you there, we are booked for January 24, 2011. Good luck!

I'm also thinking of finding a STD template on here I like and just making them myself to save money. This being the third time we've ordered them, I don't want to spend a lot of money, you know? We used Vistaprint to order Save the date magnets! Our family and friends loved them and they got put onto fridges...not lost in a pile of paper.

We are booked for January 24, 2011 at the Azul Sensatori. Looking forward to learning tips from everyone. I constantly feel like I am behind in the wedding planning department! I think my next major step is finding a dress!

Sadly, I have bad news about the catamaran. We had to cancel it because of rain. It POURED rain from Wednesday when we arrived until Saturday morning (wedding day). We were super bummed about having to cancel it. The company was awesome and had my refund in my account by Monday morning. We ended up taking everyone into PM for dinner since a few people that had been there all week were a bit stir crazy from the rain. I'm sure there are catamaran trips in PV, too, so don't frett. AmyB took her guests on the catamaran for snorkeling. AmyB, any surprises? Thanks for the compliment on my siggy. I looooooove my wedding photos. LOL but every bride loves their photos! I think since you last checked in myself, Katie, AmyB, and AmyF are all MRS. now! Meghan's next!!! Ooooooh Meghan how exciting!!!!!!! Curious, where did you take your guests for dinner? We have been thinking about doing a little trip to show our guests some real Mexican food.
  7. The Dreams resorts are great for families as well. That was our #2 choice. I think Moon Palace and Now Jade are adults only resorts. Not sure if that's what you are looking for. Another wonderful adults only resort would be The Excellence, if you need a suggestion, and it's more reasonable priced then Now Jade (at least from Toronto).
  8. Sorry for the slow reply, we were out of town at a friends' wedding. We actually travelled down and looked at the Barcelo Maya Palace. It is a resort which has 4-5 other resorts bunched together (all Barcelo resorts). It is huge (which is not what we wanted...all together I think they said it was about 3000 rooms) But the beach was stunning at the Maya Palace, and they had a wonderful white gazeboo just up from the beach. There was also a very quite corner (to the north of the main beach) set behind some palm trees looking over the ocean. If your group was small enough (I think max. 25 people) that's what I would choose. It was beautiful. Did not look at the Moon Palace, so I can't help there. The Azul Sensatori has 4 different sites on the beach, a gazeboo and a roof top patio over looking the ocean(at an extra cost). We have choosen to do the beach option, just because we want it to be casual and we are at a beach! Wish you all the best, I should be online more often now. I think I even have some pictures from the Barcelo if you want me to send them to you. Cheers!
  9. Hello everyone, I am getting married at the Sensatori January 24, 2011. It's great to find a spot where everyone can share their ideas. There was someone who posted wondering if they had made the right decision about the Sensatori...I would reply 'YES'. My fiancee and I were able to travel down in April 2010 and view the property. The service and deco is wonderful. The food...some of the best I have ever eaten at an all- inclusive and all the spots they offer for the ceremonies and receptions are beautiful! Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to learn more!

But the Sensatori is beautiful, the food amazing and it is family friendly ( we have a lot of family with kids, so that was important). I hope you find what you are looking for, and if there is any info I can pass on please ask.
