I thought that was very sweet. You might even place a photo of your dad on the seat as well. Another wedding I attended the groom lost his mom about ten years ago, and before he did the mother/son dance with his aunt, he went over and kissed a photo of his mother that was set up next to the head table. Thanks for the ideas.

Now, it wasn't LOVE at first sight, but when I put this dress on, let me tell you, it was like va-va-voom, you couldn't tell me I was not dead sexy! It's a short, clingy dress in a bright aqua/robin's egg color. It has a really pretty low beaded neckline -- def sexier than I planned for our rehearsal dinner, but what the hell! If not at my wedding, then when else, right?! (to quote the salesgirl) I will have to bust out the tripod and snap some pics to post :-) Can't wait to see it!

Am I totally wrong that the pools close like that? If so please set me straight. The pool rules...I didn't see any posted and don't think there will be any issues should you choose to swim late. We used our hottub plenty in the evening watching the moon, sipping a drink and listening to the live music from the adult bar. Wines....Ooooo.....so many. Mexican wines: (we had a ton to try while in Mexico, but unfortunately can't get many here) Try L.A. Cetto Nebbiolo Reserva Privada (if you can find it), or any of the Shiraz's L.A. Cetto produce. A couple of other current favorites: De Bortoli Windy Peak Pinot Noir (Australian or New Zealand). Sandalford Shiraz (Austraila) Trapiche Malbec (Argentina) Always love to try new ones! I had ruled out the swim ups b/c i normally like to be up to see the sea good. Currently we are just booked in the luxury jacuzzi oceanview (b/c it is off gorund floor and as close to beach as possible). my TA (which i have used for years) says she thinks this room suites me best b/c of my previous travel choices, but you all have me wondering if i should just do a swim-up thoughts All the rooms above the main floor have a view of the ocean, just some might be a bit closer than others. And the resort is small enough that at most you might be a 4 minute walk/elevator ride to your room. The adults only section, is the furtherst from the ocean. The premium section is to the side. Honestly all the rooms are so similar, it will be amazing no matter where you stay! If you like the oceanview...go with it! Quote: Originally Posted by KittenHeart I just got my Elite Banner!!! They were very helpful, even if the car was a bit older...but at least I wasn't worried about people breaking into the car. Plus their rates INCLUDE insurance, additional driver and 'get out of trouble' card (basically it's a card they give to tourists, so in case you get pulled over, the cop is suppose to just give you a warning and let you off the hook- but you do have to ask for the card!) I drive standard, and most of the cars seemed to be standards, so in case you need an automatic make sure to request it. I am going to be busy reading the older posts tomorrow at work, hope it is not too busy lol, lots to read. also don't know what reception dinner options we have. I would have written back to all of you who were kind enough to welcome me, but I'm not down with multi-quoting yet! Also my ticker is so small! Haha, oh well at least i figured out how to do it. Thanks for listening to me vent! Welcome! We both worked an early shift and then we got into the car and drove for about 2 hours! Well we checked into a lovely hotel, and went out for a great dinner. And then he lead me to a concert...to my surprise it was...Sting! (And I love Sting!) We sat in the 11th row, as Sting performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra! Hee hee I love Surprise Day!

LOL I am very protective of it and I keep it nearby at all times. My daughter will tell me to kick back and relax with all of the photos of her. ;-) "Mom, enough please!" is pretty common for her, especially around soccer season when I deploy the rapid shot on her! LOL I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cameras and even tried to enroll in a JC course this past semester but it was full. :-( Do not get me started on my love for DSLR's! LOL The resort is far away from the local markets, about a 20 minute drive. FI and I have rented a car for the few days before our guests arrive to run the errands. The resort just valet parks your car, no problems. We are Olympus fans! Quote: Originally Posted by ~Nicole~ Yes, they give you a beach towel card. You go get a fresh towel whenever you need it. We would get pool towels in our room, and then you just exchanged them at the beach butler hut, if you needed a fresh one. Quote: Originally Posted by beaz2be This. Sounds. Awesome. Do you recommend? Stayed in the Premium swim up in April and loved the hot tub beside the walk into the pool. That part I would highly recommend, especially when it cools off a little in the late afternoon, you can relax in the hot tub Other than that the rooms were identical to all the others, so no real bonus there. But you could request special soaps and room fragrances for free. Plus the premium section has the pool butlers, I don't think the other areas do.

So I'll have to wait for a friend to take some better shots of my dress.

Did you use a makeup fixative spray or whatever those things are called? I go back and forth on whether to try and do my own or get it done at the spa like some of you other ladies are talking about. FI gave me makeup lessons as a birthday gift last year. It was awesome. I have never been a person to wear makeup, let alone know how to apply it. The lady I did the lessons with does everything from bridal makeup to TV show makeup. I learned how to do the basics, to the over the top fabulous (which I would never use LOL) She also included a 'how to' manual and some great suggestions for different brands of makeup to use, colors, etc. Now I use makeup- lightly, but feel much more comfortable with it. **The one piece of advice she did give....don't buy a foundation /or powder with SPF in it for your wedding day. Wear a SPF face lotion and then apply foundation on top. The problem she says with foundations/powders with SPF is that with the camera flash you get a white complexion due to the reflection! Thought I would pass that one on.** I think I will likely do my own makeup, just have to buy some good quality products! But I will have my hair and BM's hair done at the salon.

  9. Congrats on setting the date! I have been to Cabo in late January and thought the weather was perfect. Hot during the days, 27C-33C (sorry don't know what that is in F) and the bonus was it cooled off a little at night. Great sit by the bar in a summer dress not drenched in sweat, kind of weather. I would recommend a little sweater or shawl for the evening! But you will love it there

I did look into the photographers the resort offered and was not too impressed, so this was a better fit for us since photos are pretty important. I agree. I thought it would be much more expensive, but when we totalled up what we were getting, it became a great price to bring our photographer with us. He will be doing photos at our welcome cocktail party, the wedding and then trash the dress! So excited And I'm a junior member!
  12. Wow, so many different careers! Well I am an air traffic controller in Toronto. I work the radar scopes, not in the tower! Love my job
  13. I don't plan on putting any writing on our OOT bags. I am sewing the bags myself and hence customizing it with our wedding colors. Once I get my act together and start making them I will post a photo.

  15. I would agree with the girls about Ikea, especially for a basic glass vase. Or maybe Walmart? Or try the shops along Chinatown downtown (Spadina). Also if you are close to Mississauga, try the outlet stores at the Heartland Town shops. The home stores, such as Home Outfitters, Bouclair, Kitchen Stuff Plus, Homesense, Benix and Co., or Stokes. Since they are outlets, they offer good prices, but sometimes have limited quanities. Good luck!

We visited in April and the food was amazing! As for the drinks, I didn't find them watered down at all. Plus I was thrilled they make Caesars! (really a Canadian thing...) And the Mojiotos at the Mojioto bar are super yummy Never did try the house wines though...we rather ordered bottles or did the wine parring at Le Clique. The resort by far had the best food at an all inclusive I have been to so far. That was one of the main reasons we picked the Sensatori, since FI is a former chef and food is really important to him.
  17. Such a wonderful story! And a nice addition to the family

  19. I am 5'3" and bought a normal dress. My seamstress will just have to alter it to be shorter, but she says it will not be a problem. As for dress shopping it can be hard, but just take your time and be open to trying on things you would normally not think about trying. What I had imagined wearing and what I ended up buying are very different. But I love my dress! (Be note the lovely model wearing the dress is very tall...I am not LOL...unless I stand on a box!) http://72.232.198.18/manufcols/prono...om/Deseo_B.jpg http://72.232.198.18/manufcols/prono...om/Deseo_A.jpg http://72.232.198.18/manufcols/prono...om/Deseo_C.jpg

  23. I am planning on doing laterns...but that's as far as I gotten so far LOL! You ladies are so far ahead of me. I just read the DIY forum a few days ago. Now to start shopping. I think I will be aiming for about 20-30 assorted colors and sizes.
