Any 2011 Brides out there?
murmel replied to Nicyx's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I buy my a Shopper's Drug Mart or Walmart. But I'm sure you can find it in many places. The one I usually use is literally called 'Body Tape'. Plus it's great to use to fix oops....such as pant leg hems coming undone. I might have to look into one of these. Thank for the idea. -
We had a hard time with this too, but decided on using a date just before the final payment for the trip was due. I figure people would know if they were coming by then or not. And it also allows us enough time to tell the resort our guest count. Our RSVP date is November, the wedding January. Hope dress shopping went well! You can vent anytime! That is just horrible news. Sometimes people can be so rude and ignorant. Please tell your daughter to keep her head high, she deserves better! And hopefully you'll find a solution this problem. I do agree with the other ladies, print it all out, so that you have evidence should you need it. Good luck! I just recieved my first email from Kiara a few nights ago. Haven't really started the process yet, so I can't comment.

murmel replied to Amarillis's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
1. Registry: Not doing one. We are asking guests NOT to bring a gift, them joining us is expensive enough. 2. OOT bags: Sewing the bags myself. Having started on the items yet 3. Wedding Attire: Pronovias gown, bought at Ballet's. Groom: Hugo Boss suit, bought at Harry Rosen. BM: Turquoise summer dresses bought at Smart Set. GM: Volcom shorts and shirts. 4. Rings: still to be designed... 5. Invitations: Vistaprint. We also used them for our STD magnets! Everyone loved them 6. Flowers: In Mexico....all I know is the colors I want 7. Decor: ? 8. Travel Arrangements: Weddings By Oceans 9. Are you active on any other Canadian Forums? (if yes which ones):No 10. Other: Photographer that will be flying down with us: Taylor Jackson. -
Have a wonderful time! Can't wait to hear about it when you return. We confirmed our date in May, and I literally just got my first email from our WC two nights ago. Not sure if that's normal...but that's how it has worked for me so far. And our wedding date is January 24, 2011. I love the color. It's so hard to choose things online. But if your BMs think they would look good in it...I say go for it! We viewed the Excellence Riviera Cancun when we were down there doing site inspections. It was stunning. I would consider vacationing there anytime. FI and I stayed at Excellence in Dominican Republic and it was wonderful. I can only imagine the one in the Mayan could only be better We stayed at EDR Casitis. It was amazing. Would highly recommend it as a honeymoon location. If I remember correctly, they offered beach BBQ lunch everyday from 12-3pm. It was mostly hamburgers, chicken, a few salads, fries, etc. Hope that helps. Congrats! It's so exciting when you can finally view things I plan on using my actual wedding dress. But then again, I don't really plan on doing much with my dress after the fact. I think it's really a personal preference. But I do know most girls who wear their dresses into the water, say it really doesn't seem to harm them. Just hang them in the shower after and rinse, and then let air dry. Most times the dresses where cleaner than before Congrats on the magazine article. It's so neat to see your wedding being showcased. And I hope you feel better soon. And that the work stress passes quickly.

Any 2011 Brides out there?

Since most of the shorts were already dwindling in stocks we were forced to go online. FI really wanted 'surfer' style stuff...so the websites we used carry the 'surfer' brands, Volcom, Hurley, Billabong, etc. We used www.dogfunk.com , but we also looked at a lot of stuff on www.swell.com We are using http://www.dogfunk.com/snowboard/Volcom-Frickin-Stripe-Too-Chino-Short-Mens/VLC2856M.html (shorts in black with pinstripe) and http://www.dogfunk.com/snowboard/Volcom-X-Factor-Stripe-Shirt-Short-Sleeve-Mens/VLC4664M.html (shirt in White- has stripes that match our wedding colors). My BM's are wearing turquoise halter summer dresses. I would make sure to check how long they will carry shorts in a style you like. We are doing shorts as well, and I figure it's summer now, better get what we want now, than to wait when it's no longer available. I realize Tommy Bahama has summer stuff all year long, but the styles change! Don't worry to much! We confirmed our date back in May, and I literally just got my first email from the WC two days ago. As for losing weight, I find if I really concentrate on eating smaller meals, but more often it always seems to help me. I am at the point that I just need to maintain my weight. Problem is FI does all the cooking and he always serves me the same size portion as his...and he's 100lb heavier than me! LOL Men just don't seem to get the problems we have in keeping our weight...or losing weight! Good luck Quote: Originally Posted by pitt2011 Yes, I started my search of inspiration pics yesterday...I found a couple that I liked. Love both, but have to agree, I prefer the first as well. Getting married January 24, 2011 at the Azul Sensatori. Someone asked about suits for GM? There is a great forum about $99 linen suits on here. I was considering ordering FI suit, but then we found one in town. Depends on the color you want, darks go to Harry Rosen, Tip Top, Moores. Lighter colors, Banana Republic, Mexx, Tommy Bahama, but don't wait too long....summer is almost done-and so will the light colors! We have our GM wearing shorts and short sleeve dress shirts. We had to mail order everything...and I am hoping it should be here soon. I will post pictures once it arrives. -
I am not home right now, put I will send you a few shots of the Eldorado in a couple of days. I have a 'spanish lace' dress too! Love the romantic look Congratulations! And so happy to hear everything went well. Makes me feel even better about our plans. We have a number of friends who are single and sharing a room. The resort is small enough, that it doesn't matter where they stay. Worst case it might be about a 4 minute walk, from one side to the other. Only thing is when they are booking the room, make sure to have the TA specify that they need the 2 queen beds (I think they are queens, not doubles, but not sure) Good luck. The nice beach is before the nude resort, but yes, if you want to go to AB, you do have to walk past the nude beach. We just walked north with our towels, relaxed, took a swim and then walked back. No problems. Julia- love the TTD photos! Would love to see more

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. -
Welcome to the forum! Depending on where you and your guests are travelling from there are plenty of resorts/spa which are not to pricey. Try a couple of searches on travel sites to give yourself an idea...you might be surprised. Then start looking at the reviews on this site to figure out where you want to plan a wedding. We're getting married at the Azul Sensatori in the Mayan! I love the Mayan Riveria too and knew I wanted to get married there Good luck with your planning!

I would love to see some of the TTD pictures as well please! Can't remember who asked...but the beach is quite nice. Yes there is some coral/rocks directly off the beach, but no big deal. If you like to snorkel, it's great. And if you want the perfect walk into the water sand beach, walk north for about 500 yards. It's perfect just at the point...just warn your guests not to go to far north...there is a nude beach up there (in case they would get offended). Also the staff remove the seaweed twice a day, it's really fine. The people that complain on tripadvisor have obviously never been to a real beach, and expect there to be nothing living! LOL Shocking, but beaches do have seaweed, there are fish in the water and there are some rocks! Don't worry about it. The beach is beautiful fine white sand, and the wharf (?) has these great hanging bench seats to swing in as you watch the sunset.

Good luck! Be polite, but firm and we're all hoping it works out for you. So thrilled to hear you found another dress which is even better. Things always happen for a reason... -

Hmmm...seems I can see all the pictures now! Makeup looks great Love It! -
I had a really hard time with this one. I will have 3 BM, and FI has 5 groomsmen. I struggled with the idea of trying to match sides, but didn't want to ask people just to ask people. So I finally concluded I asked people because I wanted them there, not just to match his side! It's a hard choice, but whatever should happen is meant to happen and you should enjoy it either way

Disappointing to hear some of the flowers are that expensive, but hopefully the more reasonable priced one will do the trick. And please let us know if they let you switch up the spa package. I am still trying to figure out what to do. I think you can use table decorations, but nothing on the floors/walls. They do have a privacy curtain, so that you are seperated from the main dining hall. I think they can fit up to 60 there, the price is for up to 40. They also offer your own private waiters for the evening. It looks great! And if you love it...that might simply be the one. I only went to about 5 stores, and then tried on a dress (not at all what I thought I would like) and feel in love! Go out try a few others, then go back and try it on again. If you still have that loving feeling...just go for it!

Glad to hear the trip went well. Not sure why...but I can't see any of the pictures. But great to hear the airbrushing makeup stays put. Wonder if they offer that at my resort? -
I will make sure to keep my reciepts. Thanks for the advice. I do know you cannot take organic items with you across the borders (ie. fruits, plants, flowers, sand, etc.) So just keep that in mind when buying your OOT bag items.
