  1. Have fun with it! And let us know what you decide on Quote: Originally Posted by TLGnhci Sweet, thanks Jaime!! I can't believe we are getting so close. I am a bit overwhelmed right now. I'm nervous b/c I am not "sexy" at all!! But I'm thinking of doing a bridal one with white lingerie and my veil, a Ravens one since it's my FI's fave team, and a police one (his profession). Any suggestions on outfits or things to do? Don't worry, you'll get everything done! My number one helpful tip: Start putting everything for the wedding together in one place. When you think of anything you want for Mexico, put it in the pile. That way, when you start packing everything is in one spot, and you don't forget anything! I am not sexy either, but the boudoir photos were a lot of fun! (but I have to admit, I was dreading it at the start) Love the Raven's idea, and maybe you can use a pair of handcuffs in a cute way! (dangling off your heels?) If you have a feather boa...bring that. And a sexy (satin/silk) robe. Also something my photographer suggested was writing a little love note on a card, and holding that (I love you, Thinking of you, etc.) Have fun! Less is More....Happy Wedding Day! Hope all is going wonderfully
  2. The round tables are 8. And it was a comfortable 8, you would not want to squeeze anyone else in. They also offer sweetheart table for 2 (I think it's a semi-circle) I saw some rectanglar tables...but when we asked they did not offer them, so not sure what they might seat? Or if you can even get them.
  3. Can't help you with that ship directly. A girlfriend of mine got married on a Princess ship last November. The salon did our hair, but not makeup (not sure if it was an option). Check out Carnival's website, usually there is a ship specific link, that might be able to help get you answers, or at least maybe an email address for the salon. (that's how we made our hair appointment for the Princess ship-which is Carnival's sister company). Good luck!
  4. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun! Only suggestions I would make: have a projector with wedding photos/video (if you are doing that) or a table with some wedding photos! Since everyone will want to see your big day. And then do something fun for a guest book, so that you can look back and see who was all there. We used this idea in Mexico, and will likely do it at our AHRs as well: get a white board, and a camera. Have guests write their well wishes, advice, etc. on the whiteboard, then pose with it, and have someone take a photo of it. Then once you have all the photos, you can make a photobook /guestbook. I know some girls on here have done props, like silly moustaches, bowties, etc. and had people pose with those! DH is more in charge of the AHRs since he is a former chef and has more knowledge on that side. I think we have one tenatively booked for April 16, and working on the other one now. I know it seems a little late, but we just returned from the wedding and get our new house mid-March. So not much spare time! Plus DH's sister is expecting her first little one in a few weeks, so that's also adding to our list of stuff to do LOL!
  5. Call your TA and see if you can get an extension. We had a number of guests who got an extension and had to pay just 4 weeks before they left. Don't pay for it yourself! Even though I know it's hard not to! Tell your FMIL when you talk to her (calmly) that the due date is here, and that payment is due! And if they ask for help, state that unfortunately you only have room to pay for your trip and the wedding payments. Leave it at that. (hopefully you will know that they have some extra time, because it's been arranged with the TA) But you don't want to tell them they now have an extra couple of weeks....After all they are adults. I also know about the commute thing. We actually just bought a house further away (so that we can afford a family home) in Burlington. But I will be commuting into Toronto, the only saving grace is I work shift work, so I will usually avoid the rush hour traffic. Quote: Originally Posted by TLGnhci Ugh, sorry Colleen. So I'm gonna have to foot the bill for that. If I didn't, fi and I would be doing great at getting stuff paid off. I work two jobs and really didn't want to go into debt for this wedding. And I'm trying to get out of my momma if she kept the 500 I already gave her so I can put that toward the bill. So, ugh... I see what your going through. Money is I think my biggest stressor! Anywho, good news is I have a job interview today! I'll have to start commuting but I hate my current job so at this point, I hope all goes well! Best of luck on your job interview!
  6. The shirt almost looks white here, so I think it will be really neutral. If you want to bring pink into the mix, get your flowers in pink! If you think to many colors might look odd, take a look at my profile, you will find some of our wedding pictures (default album). And we used a lot of color LOL
  7. Beautiful pictures Natasha! Love the one of you on the pier with the dress blowing in the wind And the night shot on the stairs.
  8. We just gave our wedding coordinators at the resort a thank you card with some money inside. We didn't know until we arrived at our resort, who our WC would be or how many. So it made it a little tricky. I was grateful we had taken some blank cards with us, these came in super useful!
  9. We had our ceremony at 3pm (but we married in January, so the sun set much earlier, than it does in May). Cocktail party on the beach for the guests at 4pm. And then the dinner started at 6pm. We had a large number of older guests and kids, so we figured it would suit them better. Our reception was until 10pm and then we moved over to the 'coffee hut' and played music til late in the morning. The best part the waiters from the Mojoito lounge would come all the way down the stairs and serve our group! Overall the tempertature was perfect for us. But again it was January. I would check what time sunset is for your wedding date, and then go back about 1 1/2 hours. You don't really want to be getting married in the dark, and that allows for the ceremony, and then some pictures just before it's dark. I know nv+gm had her reception go past 11pm....but not sure how long? Quote: Originally Posted by Michele4172011 Does anyone have a Welcome Letter template specific to Azul Sensatori? So much to do! Less is More, I hope everything is going well. I would also be a mess if they switched everything last minute, but remember you are going there to marry the love of your life and it will be beautiful. Your guests are there for you. I hear AB is very cute and boutiquey so I think you are still in great hands. Please keep us posted. I had a Welcome booklet...not sure if that's what you are looking for. But it's on my Planning journal: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/69198/murmel-s-planning-journal-pic-and-template-heavy We had a small welcome note, information about the area, schedule, etc. all together. Less is More. Thinking about you, and hoping all is settling! Wishing you a safe trip and good weather!
  10. I just did my trash the dress...with my dress! I never planned on wearing the dress again, so why not! Then you have these wonderful memories from your dress. And to be very honest, unless it's a very delicate fabric, it will be fine. My dress was all spanish lace, and it was cleaner after jumping into the ocean and pools than it was after dinner the night before! LOL Big thing, after it's been in the ocean/pools, stand in the shower and run fresh water over it, getting all the clorine/salt out, once you take it off, dry it out completely! I left ours on our balcony and it was dry within the day. Then I wasn't worried about moisture wreaking it later. Whatever you choose, do it! The TTD was so much fun
  11. I personally did not want a diamond, and my DH listened and customed designed a ring with a tanzinite stone. We had the wedding band custom made to fit the e-ring, with tanzinite stones as well! I love having something unique!
  12. We didn't include parents names, but that is most due to the fact that I lost my father 12 years ago, and my mother is in a full time care facility and will not be attending. His parents were crushed at the start, but also understood what an ackward position it put me in. We literally wrote: Please join us in celebrating the marriage of..... and ..... Date, time, etc. No mention of any relatives. Quick, clean and simple.
  13. Hahaha, that's one thing I didn't do! One of my fantastic BM made them for me. I will email her and see if she can send it to me. I'll post it when I get it!
  14. The minister that did our ceremony spoke very good English...other than the fact she kept pronouncing my husband's name Luke as Luck! LOL But seriously she was wonderful! Quote: Originally Posted by Less is more Thank you soooo much Melissa. I just PM you my email address. If you could send me info and photos that you have that would be wonderful. It's bad enough they were already concerned about whether or not it was safe to travel. Thanks for everything! I am so glad someone has recent photos! That's a great positive! Hope you get a good nights sleep and things look better tomorrow. Looking at the bright side, you and your guests, no matter where you are, will have an amazing time and a beautiful wedding!
  15. I think you must mean the Power point one....I have Power point at work, and had no problems saving it and changing it at work. I'll PM you for your email, I am working a midnight tonight, so I could change the names for you and then send it to you.
  16. I think you can go with as many colors as you wish! We used turquoise and green for most things, but we added in different colors for the flowers....There are no rules! For custom shirts try: iTailor.com We used them to get a custom made linen shirt for our wedding. It is beautiful! Good luck.
  17. Our Pro Pics - Andrew Jordan Photography http://ajp.nextproof.com/galleries/wendy-and-rod Resort Reviewhttp://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...3/#post1293269 Try these....goodness, I wish there was something we could do to help!
  18. Beautiful shoes! Oh...goodness, I am so sorry! Azul Beach is a nice property, but like you said not what you had planned. How big is your wedding? I wonder if you can talk to the resort and your TA and have them move other people! Perhaps call the resort directly and talk to a manager? And if they say no, then go after major compensation! Wedding should be at least 50% off or free and all your guests should recieve big resort certificates for use at the gift shop or spa! I know taylorwd got married at AB about a year ago, her pictures are beautiful and might give you some ideas. That would piss me off so much! I wish there was a solution we could offer....Good luck. 19. We did a symbolic wedding in Mexico, but got married in Canada before we left. We did not tell our guests and the symbolic wedding truly sounded and felt like my wedding! The other one in Canada (also special, don't get me wrong) but that was signing the paperwork. The real wedding feeling was in Mexico. I do need to explain, we wanted to also include my mother, who is bedridden and in a nursing home (she could not make it to Mexico for obvious reasons). So we choose to get legally married in front of her in the nursing home. That way she was there for my "wedding". That being said it also made our planning easier for Mexico, since we could now do the wedding whenever we wanted...didn't have to wait the 3 business days and the ceremony was performed in english. None of our guests know the difference, and you still sign a Marriage certificate, so it certainally does have the 'real' feeling. Whatever you choose it will be a magical day!
  20. I spent almost 9 months looking for turquoise shoes. Finally found a pair on ebay! Keep trying sorry it's not really a good picture.
  21. I Love the fact that he found it himself! That way it is what he wants Very unique
  22. Nan, your site inspection looks amazing! Where exactly by Tulum is it? Love your local menu! Sounds like so much fun You mentioned about guests needed transport from the airport. I can highly recommend Lomas. We arranged a lot of our guests private transfers through them and they were amazing! Have fun! Enjoy yourself and have a shot for me LOL
  23. Nicole, our photographer has posted a few to his blog: http://www.taylorjacksonphoto.com/blog/ Love the photos so far...really looking forward to seeing the TTD and the rest of the wedding day.
  24.
