(flat battery with 3 LED's taped together) We just hung this off fishing line into the paper latern. But our laterns had a metal frame where I could tie it off of. For the flameless candles....maybe use electric tape to attach it to string and then hang them upside down into the middle? 2. Thanks. No real pattern, but here are the instructions on how to make them: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/65040/diy-fabric-luggage-tags-photos-and-instructions The did take some work, but everyone loved them and used them. They all said it was really fun to be able to identify who was all coming to our wedding at the airport I ordered the address cards from Staples (regular business cards, I think we ordered them as packs of 20's)
  3. Ohhh...goodness...I really wish there was an edit button......my husband's sister! Duh......
  4. Ladies, just have to share some great news! I became an Aunt on Sunday My husband's wife had a little baby girl. We are so excited
  5. Someone asked about the spa: there is a 10% surcharge...I never did figure out what it was for. But we did tip on top of it. Looks like so much fun....and a huge party!
  6. We used turquoise, lime green and white! The colors looks great.
  7. I think they might have been mine. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/65040/diy-fabric-luggage-tags-photos-and-instructions
  8. They have it listed as Cancun (since that's the closest airport). Don't worry...it's the correct resort! There is a Sunwing representative right at the hotel in the lobby, so that might be an added pull to keep your guests there. We didn't have a single problem with our bookings (and the hotel was overbooked as well) We were at the hotel a few days before our guests arrived, and we talked to the front desk to ensure all our guests would be at the resort, and not moved. Just really happy to hear your guests are managing to book! That's great news Hopefully everyone that wants to be there will get on board now, before all the rooms are gone!
  9. I am so so THRILLED everything worked out in the end! And I am glad they made it up to you in any possible way. Can't wait to see the pictures! And congratulations on your wedding and being a Mom and Mrs!
  10. 100% legit site. All of our guests travelled through Sunwing (rather room only, or full flight and room package) , including myself and my husband. It is one of Canada's largest vacation wholesale groups. And I work in the flight industry, Sunwing is a good company. There is also another wholesale group: Signature vacations. Both are totally legit! Glad to hear this might help! Have lots of fun on your bachlorette! That should be so much fun
  11. We didn't recieve any discounts on the room really (package deals), but we just asked for the special events discount of 20% and got it no problem. (I'm from Canada) Just ask your WC if you could get this discount. We had to ask for it.
  12. Jazz04: Try the Sunwing.ca website. You might just be able to get a room, and then your guests might be able to purchase airfare through another airline. Right now for June 9- 16 (a full week) it is $847 (CDN)/person for the Junior Jacuzzi room all inclusive. There are rooms available! (not sure how many) I am sure you can just pay for it with a credit card online, and then the hotel voucher is sent via email. And if for some reason you can't make it work from the States, I am sure we Canadians can help you somehow! Good luck!
  13. We had a number of kids joining us from all over Canada for our wedding, so I took the time to create a little activity book for the airplane ride. We sent the booklets with a small pack of crayons (Dollar store) about 3 weeks before departure. The kids loved getting a special surprise and the parents loved that it kept them entertained. The document is done in Word, so super simple for you to change or edit names, dates, information. I printed the booklet out, doubled sided on 8.5x11 paper and folded it in half. Then a quick staple in the centre fold kept it all together. Hope this will help others who have kids joining them down south! kidplaneactivity.doc

  15. Tisha, not sure what airlines you are flying with, but a lot of them if you pre-purchase weight ahead of time it's cheaper (than paying directly at the airport). We added additional weight to our tickets and it was great, since one the airline knew we were coming with extra luggage and it was cheaper. Thanx The Mojoito lounge has live music every evening and depending on the group, people would dance the night away up there. (there's a small area/dance floor space right in front of the stage). I personally did not make it down to the teen's club, but some of our guests did and said the DJ was great. (only problem, no booze down there, so they had to go back up to the Mojoito lounge for drinks) Quote: Originally Posted by melfaybik Hi! But I have heard really positive remarks for both Azul properties about hair and makeup. My only suggestion is if you plan for a manicure/pedicure, you may want to bring your own nail polish colors, since they had very few colors.
  16. We used ewedding.com for our website. But we did upgrade so that we could use the RSVP function. I am pretty sure you can upload music and photos. Good luck!
  17. Our wedding was at 3pm. I had my hairdresser with me, and she did our hair and makeup (so 4 of us total) We started at 10am-ish and I think we were done by about 1:30pm. It was a nice relaxing set up. Had breakfast with all my girlfriends at 9am, and then we ordered room service for lunch! Don't forget to eat LOL! 19. I had to get everything sent to Canada so it was more expensive. But try these places for some of the above: Pepto Bismol (ebay) (we ended up buying single dose packs of Immodium from an ebay dealer called: barginsdelivered. They were very helpful, and based in the US, so it should be really cheap for you) Shout wipes. Try a site called http://www.minimus.biz/ They have an amazing selection of everything travel related. Super for those of you in the US, the shipping to Canada made it too expensive.
  20. Both the dresses are beautiful! Take your time, go back and decided which one makes you feel beautiful. I love the lace (I had a lace dress myself- good thing: it travels really well! I just hung it up in the closet and it was perfect) Love the second dress for the very dreamy skirt! Good luck with your choice Love the idea of big sparkly earrings! I had a fairly large turquoise set that matched my shoes I did a boudoir session, and my husband was thrilled to get the surprise gift just before we got married. Our photographer caught his reaction....and all I can say is....So worth every penny! I will also send you some of the templates tomorrow for welcome booklets to help you with ideas! So in the end we will (or hopefully we will) have a mixture of photos with everyone's notes on them by the time we get home from our honeymoon! I'm hoping we get a better outcome with these than with the RSVPs (hoping everyone is still on a high from the vacation or something!). I forgot I need to get ahold of canadian stamps for all of our canadian guests! Anyone in the states know how to get canadian stamps? And how many would it take to mail a postcard from Canada to US? PMing you now to see if I can help!
  21. I think we used about 12-15 laterns. I have some photos on my profile if you want to view!
  22. (for some reason I can't get the quote button to work right now...) Jamie, please feel free to borrow whatever you need! I know I looked through so many other brides brochures/letters and then mixed them all up to come up with most of what I have! (and I was laughing myself silly reading about your problems with the page layout. It took me forever too! LOL) Love the t-shirt idea, they look great! For Mel's mom: We are planning our honeymoon for late this year (November). We plan on travelling for about 3 weeks through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
  23. If you plan on selling it, or are truly worried about ruining it. Then get another cheap dress. Like I said I was not worried about wreaking it, or even wearing the dress again,...so why not! You also don't have to get the dress wet for a TTD. Why not walk down the road to a local bar or wharf, and take some pictures. The whole point of the TTD is to get some great pictures in a different location, when both the bride and groom are relaxed and just looking to have fun! Quote: Originally Posted by daisymable I agree. I think it's best to use the real dress. How bad can the water ruin it? You aren't going to wear it again and I bet it would make better pictures. I am thinking I still want to do it before the wedding, but if so, I'll have to get another dress and something totally different because I don't want my fiance to see what I'll look like before the wedding day. Do you think it would be weird to do it before the wedding day? What time is your wedding? Could you do some pictures with your photographer at night? Jump into the pool with your guests after dinner? (and then put on a cocktail dress for later?) Good luck and have fun.
