We had a reception with 63 guests at Plaza Zavas and it felt very private. No strangers walking around, etc. It's set off from the main area, and people have to actually walk down paths to get to the plaza, so usually people realize it's a wedding and just stay clear! Check out this thread for photos: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread It might sound a little tacky, but I don't know if you'll have a small table with a guest book/seat chart/etc., but perhaps you could buy a few bottles of bug spray and leave them there for your guests to use (with a cute note)? Most of your men will be wearing long pants so they should be okay. And it was only around dusk that it seemed bad. So hopefully later in the night they will have gone to sleep. You've been added to the offical Bride Roll Call! I know there is a Zavas terrace (small stone patio close to the premium section), Zocalo terrace is the backside patio of the Mexican restaurant. For photos see the Official thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread Quote: Originally Posted by MK0386 Beautiful! Our TTD pics are Saturday and we leave very very early Sunday am. I think it really depends on your dress. I had a mostly lace dress and it took a beating and survived the wedding (which included stepping in black gum, and ripping a lot of the lining), trash the dress (salt water, pool water, hot tub), and 2 at home receptions! My advice is once you are done, wear it straight into the shower and rinse it off in fresh water as best as possible. Then hang it up outside to dry as quick as possible. Then pack it and make sure to take it out at home ASAP to finish drying. Then depending on how it looks take it to a dry cleaner. (my dry cleaning saw my dress 3 times....and couldn't stop laughing the whole time!) What's your wedding date? I will add you to the roll call. Please take a look at the Official thread for more info: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread Personally there was very little seaweed (plus the resort sweeps it away daily). But it is not a great beach You can go into the water, but be careful of the old coral/rocky bottom. Plus it's quite shallow. The only real bonus is if you upgrade to the swim up in the premium with the hot tub. Other than that, the rooms inside are identical, and for the most part you'll be at the other pools with your guests, so you will not be taking full advantage of the extra service. Personally I think the swim up room in the adults section will likely be a great choice. And should you be offered the honeymoon suite be aware they are in the middle buildings up high. Room inside the same, but the balcony oceanside is HUGE! And super exciting to hear you have more guests joining!

So ladies, I have finally gotten around to trying to compile all the basic info about the Sensatori. (including photos of the wedding sites, etc.) Please take a look and see what you think, and if there's anything I'm missing or if you have more update info, please let me know so I can update it. As well I will keep the Bride Roll call up to date on the thread! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/84306/official-azul-sensatori-thread Hope this helps all the brides and our new comers! If I put the two dresses in one garment bag, will they still let me bring that on board + a carry-on? Thanks! I think most airlines are quite accommodating to brides, but they usually only have the overhead bins to store things. So be prepared to have to fold your dresses in half and squeeze them in. (sorry) I think putting them both into one garment bag will be helpful, plus only one thing to concentrate on. I would try boarding the plane as soon as possible to try and get an overhead bin for yourself....and if you're really lucky you can check with the flight crew if they have a closet where they can hang it. (but don't count on this...there are very few planes with closets now a days.) Any updates on the bridesmaid dress?

We did a small cake just for the purpose of photos! Ours was a vanilla cake. It was just okay....and the desserts that come with dinner are great! So personally if the cake is not important I would just pass. Usually the fee would cover both. But again this is just a general quote....the price will be set once you are down in Mexico. And more than anything has to do with how much stuff they have to set up for you. If you are bringing a ton of decorations, or it's very difficult to set up, expect the fee to be on the higher side. If you have minimal stuff, expect it to be cheaper.

My understanding is you need to have reciepts for gifts (ie. OOT bag items, bridal party gifts, favours). Stuff that you will not be taking home with you, or will be leaving in Mexico. Depending on how much stuff you are bringing down (especially if you have a lot of the same items) they may ask to see reciepts for decorations (this is merely because they don't want you to be bringing stuff into the country with the intention to sell the items) For the most part, most brides don't even get asked. But it's better to be prepared, just incase your luggage gets searched. Hope that helps. If you have gifts for your bridal party- another option is to give the gifts to them ahead of time and have them bring them down themselves (plus they don't have to claim it then, since it's theirs-not a gift!)

Yeah Rachel! So excited for you Good luck with all the packing! (I remember packing for our wedding....there was so much stuff LOL) Just don't forget your reciepts for the Mexican customs (you are only allowed to bring $300/person worth of gifts with you. So $600 between you and your FI) Have an amazing trip and a beautiful wedding!

You are allowed to bring any of your own decorations. The set up fee is usually decided upon by the local WC once they see how much stuff you have and the time required to set it up. (hence your WC that you email, may not be able to give you a proper quote. They are based in Miami, not Mexico) Up to now we have suggested to brides to bring cash with them to the onsite meeting and then negioate the price there. The $5/person quote, is just to give you an idea. (but for example I had 63 guests and paid about $120)

Le Chique restaurant Things to know: 1) adults only (18 +) 2) usually only serves groups of 2 to 4 (just the way the tables/restaurant layout) 3) as far as I know- they are unwillingly to make group reservations! 4) non-hotel guests are allowed to eat here (ie. make reservations and come into the resort, just for dinner) 5) they serve non-traditional plates of food. Do not expect steak and potatoes...it is a "molecular gastronomy" restaurant. This is a play on food using new techniques based in science and technology. 6) the fee for non-hotel guests is $150 USD/person 7) the fee for a hotel guest is: 8-9 courses $25 USD/person (does not include wine pairings). If you would like the wine pairings and 12 course menu the fee is $110 USD/person. 8) you must make a reservation through your concierge upon arrival and it cannot be made before you arrive (this does mean that on occasion it is difficult to get a reservation!) 9) dress code: Suggested business casual (ie. men- long pants, no flip flops. Women- sundress, nice pants, etc.) 10) dinner will usually take about 2-3 hours Hope that helps! I personally am a huge "foodie". This is an amazing restaurant and one of the top places I have dined in, in the world. I can understand that people may not enjoy it as much, if they do not understand the work/science/artistry involved to create this meal. Please go in and have an open mind to the experience it will take you on! The official restaurant website: http://lechiquerestaurant.com/

PLANNING THREADS (from previous Azul Sensatori Brides) This is a great place to get ideas from previous brides, see photos of the resort, and usually get some useful templates! Enjoy and thank you to all previous brides who have submitted their planning journals to help the new brides! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/69198/murmels-planning-journal-pic-and-template-heavy http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/86110/megans-june-2013-azul-sensatori-planning-journal-long-with-lots-of-diy-and-pics http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/76600/mwise17s-planning-thread-diy-heavy-pic-heavy http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/85214/tkuzmas-mayan-riviera-wedding-planning-journal-february-7-2013 http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/78973/melissas-planning-journal-azul-sensatori http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/42308/trayce2222s-planning-thread-a-zillion-pics-and-looong http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/58383/kittenhearts-amy-massive-planning-thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/64740/chongs-wedding-planning-journal-for-oct-10-2010-wedding-a-lot-of-pictures-templates http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/44703/katkens-long-pic-heavy-planning-thread-6-5-09 http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/72226/tlgnhcis-long-pic-heavy-planning-thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/36538/tsashamias-wedding-planning-a-work-in-progress
