LOL My MOH is bragging to everyone about traveling to Jamaica and being my MOH, but the only thing that we have done together was dress shopping 1x for me and 1x with my bridesmaids. I am getting married in 2 months, she hasn't helped me with anything else. My FI asked me one question and he said if I can answer this, I have my answer: "On the day of your wedding, would it matter to you if she is there or not?" I'll keep you posted, her final payments are due next week... we'll see!

We had the "are u sure you still want to be my MOH" conversation a few months back. At that time I told her that I had concerns and wasn't sure if she would be able to handle the MOH position. She explained that things were going crazy, apologized and swore that she would redeem herself. The reason I am leaning toward stripping her all together is because she failed to do what she said, and I haven't spoken to her in weeks, no return call, text, nothing! A friend would at least respond if get hurt, or if someone dies. cmon really?? I honestly gave her a chance = epic fail on her part.

What I would do is look for your own bridesmaid dresses that you like, pick three and have them choose, if it is a tie. you be the tie breaker. You have so many decisions to make. You DO NOT have time to be a referee too! Tell the standoff-ish BM to chill and remember that it is a group effort not a solo show. Majority rules Best of Luck and Congrats!

I wanted to talk to my fellow brides because I am torn, what to do??? I have a small wedding party, my MOH and two other bridesmaids. My friend of 12 years that I selected as my MOH was on board with the planning at first, now things have taken a big turn. STRIKE 1: I am getting married in about 2 mos and we spoke ONLY ONCE about my bridal shower, she never asked for my names/addresses or anything since then. STRIKE 2: she doesn't have her passport for her trip and all she did was put down a deposit back in the fall, she lost her job and has been on two trips and planned a graduation party just last week. STRIKE 3: when she originally booked she didn't have a roomate so she just gave her sister's name to get the double occ. rate at the travel agent. she now wants to bring her new boy toy as her roomate, BUT HAS NOT ADDED HIM AND FINAL PAYMENTS ARE DUE IN A WEEK! (sidenote: a maid of honor who brings a new man to a wedding she will be running around for... hmmmm ) STRIKE 4: last week I buried a close friend of mine and instead of asking how I was doing, she asked if 2 days after the funeral If I could supply music and equipment for her graduation party. (yeah like I would be in the mood to help you throw a party when u forgot to plan mine) STRIKE 5: a few days ago I injured my neck and asked for a contact number to see a doctor that she referred me to. afterwards I found the number but did she even call to check on me.....NOPE. We had a talk a few months back and I told her that she was dropping the ball, I need help, and I need someone to help keep me on my toes. not sit around and wonder if your gonna cancel because of finances and poor planning. I respect her life and what she has going, but if you agree to be in a wedding, I think you should make time just a lil time for the wedding party. It's like she just landed a new man and turned her back on everyone (unless she wants something) She has flaked in the past and we used to have a great friendship, I don't know if this one will last. I am VERY turned off by her behavior and am questioning if I want that type of energy around me on my wedding day. On the good side, my other bridesmaid has really stepped up and our friendship is stronger than ever, If I knew we would have become this close she would have been my MOH from the start. I don't know BDW I am on the fence, I don't wanna turn away someone who wants to be with me on my wedding day, but i don't wanna be around someone that I could end up resenting. I am really having a hard time forgiving her especially when she doesn't think she did anything wrong. SMH What to do:

Hey Ladies, I haven't been to active on the boards lately. Unfortunately I lost one of my dearest friends to Cancer today, and it made me think. Life is too short to be hung up on expensive decor and worrying about what people think...enjoy all the time you have with loved ones. I have 40 people coming with me and they are there because they care. The only person that will know about the lack of details is ME! I am also having an AHR so I just spoke to Keisha and decided today to scale down to the basic wedding, semi-private dinner and hit the disco with open bar and DJ. I have a fun group, so we are gonna have fun regardless. Although these boards have been really helpful, I would prefer to break the bank for my relaxed Island Casual AHR back home. I even had the nerve to change my colors for my AHR (different party, different colors) and YES... I will wear my dress again... (i may change later on in the night) Use these boards to network, vent, and find out information, but don' t get so caught up in detail, your guests won't know the difference anyway. save yourself thousands of dollars on overpriced items and have fun.. Aww Subbi!! We I don't even know you but I could just give you a big hug for taking the time out to help bring me back to earth! you are a sweetie! You understand the frustrations and where I am coming from. No one likes to feel like a number or dollar sign, but when there is a high volume unfortunately this is how it is, and getting married abroad is not recommended for a perfectionist! LOL I have planned parties here at home for 10 + years and I sometimes forget that everything runs differently in different places. I got u girl, I will take a break, and have me a drink, or two, well maybe three LOL CHEERS!! I will look at the good stuff, I lost 23 pounds and cut a few inches from my waistline (maybe I should measure that too. oops) I got a new computer with a $300 discount, a wedding count that has jumped from 40 to 50 and I have a new dress that I am more in love with than the first one. God makes things happen the way they are supposed to, and thanks reminding me of that while I was seeing RED! I don't know what I would do without this site, you gals rock! your creative, sassy and there is a thread for EVERYTHING! Today I learned that no matter what happens I am gonna get married around more family and friends than I anticipated.. As much as I would like to break the bank for a wedding pulling out all of the stops, I will work within my means for a simple, fun, and beautiful day. LADIES I NEED TO VENT!!! UGGGGGHHH (sorry so long) this has been the week from hell. I don't even know where to begin. First my bank makes an error on my account causing all kinds of mayhem, tying up my money for days, Then, my laptop with my guest list, video invitation, engagement pics, my 4 hour playlist, and pretty much my whole life DIED!! When it happened I immediately ordered another laptop from walmart.com (same day pick up) to then get a call saying the item is discontinued and I would be refunded in 3-5 days. Now my bank had just gotten straightened out a day before this happened. How can you sell something online that is discontinued. THEN, since the item was discontinued, the store offered a different model ( $300 more in price yay! ) BUT the catch was I had to purchase within 24 hours. I I was able to get my refund pushed thru in 6 hours and picked up new computer. but wait there's more. I went to my fitting for my dress and ended up ordering a new dress because I lost weight. that wont be here till weeks before my wedding...and finally I booked for my make up only to find out that she double booked for the day, she is saying she will accommodate me but from what I understand she has several weddings that day with several different locations and it is not humanly possible for her to do all of them because of time conflict. UGHHHHHHHHH Why? that's all i wanna know is why? I am not having the best of luck dealing with jamaican vendors... i feel like they are trying to get the most of of you a bunch of hustlers... I hope everyone else is doing better, and thanks for listening.

You have no idea how many times I changed my colors. I am open to color but I am not a fan of pastel colors, wanted to have some fun! I went on this site and made my color palate, its cool you can add your own pics or use the ones featured on (Dessy.com) As for the bridesmaid dress its actually from David's Bridal $100 Also the place cards are from Martha Stewart, your right! someone has been doing their wedding decor homework. I will be sure to share the video with all u ladies real soon. It has the information about the wedding on it and it instructs them to RSVP on my wedding website. Less paper, and postage used = savings! check out the video invitations on youtube, thats where I got the idea.

Greetings fellow September Brides! I am marrying at RIU Ocho Rios, Jamaica on September 10th 2011. My planning is going okay so far, Here are my colors I am going to do DIY Beach chair place cards with paper umbrellas (pink, blue, purple), placed in sand just like its pictured below Got my DJ, Florist, Photographer, all dresses ordered &Travel arrangements done! oh and my video invitations are going out soon I am making good progress, but I also had almost 2 years to figure out what I wanted, we did the long engagement so that it was easier for our guests to pay. How r u ladies making out?
