  1. Just wanted to let you know, I got the perfume. And a bunch of bridal magazines for free when I did my registry. The person who helped me do the registry was awesome. He walked me through the florr and gave me excellent ideas, he was constantly checking that I was fine, but withput being annoying. It was really fun. And the perfume smells sooooo gooooood!
  2. Diana & Manny, Feb 19 2011. Gran Bahía Príncipe Bávaro.
  3. Super excited!! Just booked Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro for feb 19!!!!!
  4. Great. Thanks! I don;t know anyone who is a graphic designer and don't really know how much you have to pay for someone to design a logo. I want to do it myself. Hope I can pull it off.
  5. Thank you, Pamphilia. It really racks up, doesn't it? Having a private dinner/party is going to cost an arm and a leg (compared to other resorts).
  6. Those pictures are breathtaking. And I love the shoes too! I am considering Majestic as my wedding venue. Can I send you a PM with some questions about your reception?
  7. I was actually there last week to have an interview with the wedding coordinator. I spoke with Maria, who was so nice and willing to help. She and her boss (who happens to be her sister and whose name I don't remember right now) went over the packages, pictures of the flowers, whether they possibly have the date I want (although she cannot confirm it; a person in Mexico does it), what are the requirements, what type of extras are open and the prices, the locations, etc. It is a very impressive place. I don't want my wedding to be a burden on my guests so I decided not to go for them because of the prices. One thing that is very disappointing, though, is that drinks at the disco are not included. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM!!!!
  8. Awesome!!! I also am getting married in Punta Cana. I was just there and loved it. I went to see hotels and to be hones, I loved all of them. One thing, I you are considering RIU, all of their plans are nice and the Palace punta Cana hotel is beautiful (I went to the one in Nuevo Vallarta), but they charge you for drinks at the disco. Beware!!!!!
  9. Hi Guys, anyone who already had their wedding there can tell whether the sashes are included in the price of the package or do you have to pay separately for them?
  10. I narrowed my options to this hotel and Bahia Principe. But to be honest, this is the place I like the most. I am a little put off by the private reception prices, though.
  11. Oh My Gosh that is awful!!! pretty funny tho. I would have loved to tell the bride's mom to go fly a kite. But I'm too nice to say no. At the end of the day I would have screamed at my finacé so much!!!
  12. I'm going to punta Cana tomorrow and I was upgraded to first class! YAY
  13. like (grilled yum. Now i want some). dulce de leche ice cream?
  14. Thank you guys for your words. I acutally forgot I have my mom lol (isn't that awful? forget about mom?) I have tons of fun with ther when we go shopping. I don't even know why I did not mention it. And, she is pocket-mindful, so I wont feel judged if I don't wanna buy an expensive dress. YAY
  15. I have two great friends and two lovely sisters that I would love to be right by me when I say I do. Problem is, he will only have the best man, no grooms men. Call it OCD, I want the same number or people on either side. That's neither here nor there. It really isn't a big deal. What is really an issue is the fact that my best friends and my older sister live overseas and don't know wedding etiquette in the US. My little sister (who is 17) is here and I guess she knows how things work, but she awful at logistics and organizing stuff, so she will probably just stand next to me and her job will be done. That means I am completely ALONE in the planning process. I don't see me getting a bridal party, a bachelorette party, or anything that goes with the wedding-planning process. I will have to choose the dress by myself, etc. I have other good friends, but asking them to come along and not asking them to be in my wedding party... I don't know how they will feel. AH! that reminds me, one of them is already saying she is going to be part of my wedding party. OMG I never asked her or said yes if she asked. I'm not upset about her assuming that, but the part when I tell her she will not be is going to suck! Anyway, it is no drama. I guess I'll get it sorted out at the end. Having someone help me with the planning would have been fun and nice.
  16. I hate to read what happened. That is one of my worst fears. Either catching him cheating one me or the other way around.
  17. meldal101010, Awesome!!! JanineA, Looks like you have it sorted out. That's great. I did not think you are being selfish either. My son will be 15 months when we get married. I have no clue how it is going to be. I did not think about it until I read your thread. I'll have to come up with something
  18. At the end those who gave the most crap about going will be sorry when they hear how amazing and fun it was to attend your wedding. They'll wish they hadn't missed it.
  19. Oh NO! Well, I hope it is the case of latino people. That sounds mean, but we take for ever to do everything. I should not be so... what's the word? general? Not everybody is like that. But when it comes to bureaucracy, pretty much everything gets super delayed. Hope you get it sooner than later tho.
  20. I am having kind of the same issue. It is actually all my friends who live overseas and still live with their parents (buncha losers, but I love them lol) or simply think they can't afford it. It is a little bit costly, but not impossible to pull off. So I would suggest to put together a presentation with a bunch of enticing pictures of the beach, the hotel, all the stuff you can do there; find out the rates, and really try to convince them they want to take a vacation there, relax, and while they're at it, attend you wedding. It is my strategy and I hope it works. Trust me, after they come back home, they'll be raving about it for days on end. I'm still raving about a DW in Mexico I attended in February. I did not even know the couple lol. I think the money I spent on that wedding is so much more worth it than what I will spend to attend a local wedding next July (dress, shoes, present, etc). That being said, of course you wanna make sure a DW is really what you want.
  21. YIweddings, YAY! JennandMike08, I almost cried when I read your initial post (because of your sensitivity to his situation). Who knows, maybe he'll give you the ring when he is in a better shape after you get married, like in Sex And The City 2 (I know, cheesy!). You can always ask for one when you know he can afford it!
  22. Wow that must have been sooo much work. I'm dying to see how it all came together in the wedding
