So I went to the Paramus NJ store and had to wait 25 minutes to see the sales lady. That's OK though I'm chill. The first thing the lady (Nuska) asks is when my wedding (of course) and I said Feb. She says 'oh five months' and I said 'no. seven' (this was last month). She starts counting with her fingers in a condescending tone, mocking me. I let it go (I did not like it one bit, but did not think it was convenient to say anything. She's helping other people and it's only her and the manager, so I sit around and wait until they have a chance to come back to me. I did not mind. There was one dress that I really liked and I was going by myself so I told her that I wanted to come with my mom, but she lives very far, so it isn't easy. When she's going to check me out I have to wait about 10 minutes (I wanted to return the bra, otherwise I would have just left). She starts beyond-pushing me to order the dress & apply for a DB credit card. I understand it is part of her job so I let it go. Whatever. She now calls me about one to two times a week asking me when am I coming with my mom. I told her I don't know, but on the third call I told her that I would call her at my convenience (which I was really planning to do because the dress is nice). She kept calling me asking the same question and I was becomes more impatient every time. The last time she called, two days ago, I was no longer polite. I told her she was so pushy I no longer wanted to deal with her because she was too pushy. Would you think they have a way to remind themselves not to call a person after they have asked three times not to be called? AGR! I would not be surprised if she calls again.

hmmmmm very interesting. I ordered my save-the-date magnets from there. supposedly they had 50% off that day and I ended up having to pay full price. I called the next day and they gave me credit. I plan to sign up for their emails and get a lot of stuff for free. I'll use the credit for shipping. HA!

Sorry about your experience. We actually were there in June and the best advice I can give is to rent a car. It is not that expensive, parking is free pretty much everywhere, and you can pick up and go anytime you want. Roads are great. Silly me, I did not make any appointments and just winged it. We had to days to do site visits. The first place was Iberostar and they could not take us after about 35 minutes waiting at the door. We understood. They asked us to come back the next morning, which we did, but for whatever reason they did not let us in. We went to Gran Bahia as well and even though we did not have an appointment, they took us in with no problem. We also had to wait forever at the gate. Security has to locate the WC. The WC was really nice. She took us for a tour around the resort and showed us the ceremony locations as well as the reception locations. She showed us all the pictures of flowers, cakes, decorations, etc. She took out the box with sache colors, and answered each and everyone of our questions. Next we went to Riu and they asked us to come back the next day. Then we called a couple of places from our hotel to see if they could take us in such short notice. Grand Oasis did. Same thing. She showed us the whole place, picture, list of prices, answered questions, etc. The next day we went to Riu and both the WC and her assistant were there. We almost went for Riu, but then we found out that their disco does not have open bar. You have to pay for all your drinks. Next we went to Majestic Colonial and did not have an appointment. The WC had some time down and took us in. She was friendly and also took a lot of her time to answer all of our questions. Although the wait time at the gate is extremely long, we all must understand that the security people are following orders and it is their jobs on the line if they let you in just like that. They must protect the hotel guests.

I am kindof panicking here. I was not advised of the extra charge for a fotographer and I already booked mine. This sucks.

Sorry that I posted this so late. I just checked their website. You still have an hour or so before the sale ends. I got mine at a sale like this and saved a bunch. I got my magnets two weeks before they were supposed to arrive and I loved them. I ended up paying $37.11 for 50 magnets and shipping.

I got the postcard size from vistaprint and found A2 envelopes in staples. They have the cheap kind, staples brand (invitation envelopes) and the nice ones that are in a different section. The nice ones come in different colors, the paper is thicker, and they are about $4 for a 10 unit pack. I bought the cheap ones on Ivory. I printed the return address on the back and they look nice.

If you have enough people coming maybe you all can gather the money to book the room if it comes out to be significantly less than $400 per couple? I don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly: if you have ten couples booking, each can chip in $170 to book the room instead of having to pay the $400.

So I realized I cannot afford letterpress invites, but I'd still like to have them. I found this letterpress online called Epic Six from lifestylecrafts.com that sells for about $150. It comes ready with all you need (actually the wording isn't, so you'd have to get a custom-made plate or just print regularly and letterpress a design that comes included). I so want to go for it and at the same time I'm so scared that I'll blow half my budget on the Epic Six if I can't pull it off. Your thoughts?

So I was invited to a wedding and in the invite package there is an envelope with my name on it. What the heck is that envelope for? I can only assume it is for you to put money inside?? LOL that should tell you how often I get invited to weddings!

Lol. I got engaged in September and just realized (b/c a friend told me) that I was wearing my ring on the right hand. The whole time I thought I was wearing it on the left!!!! Not that I thought the right side was the left and viceversa. I don't even know what the heck happened. Since it is the perfect excuse, i'll blame it all in motherhood.
