  1. Everything looks gorgeous! Beautiful pics! Where did you find your cake topper? I love it!
  2. Thanks! It's good to know that I can change my mind when I get there since I've been doing a lot of that lately.
  3. JanineA, what was the coupon code you used? I looked and can't find any. It's not a bad price on without the coupon, but I'd hate to order now and miss a discount if it's out there.
  4. I found some waterproof disposable cameras from Fuji Spongebob Waterproof - Underwater, 35mm 800 Speed, 27 Exposures, Disposable ( Single Use ) Camera The spongebob cameras are only $2.95 per camera. They have others (non children ones) that are a bit more but I thought spongebob would be fun. It is a beach wedding after all! I'm getting 20 for my OOT bags. With shipping it is only $3.67 a camera.
  5. I'm starting to have second thoughts about were to have my reception. I wanted on the beach originally. That was one of the reasons I decided to have the wedding at DPA. A lot of other resorts make you share a restaurant with other guests or have crazy charges for setting it up on the beach. Now I'm worried that it will be too windy on the beach. The area above Portofino sounds nice, but someone said that you have to go up 2 flights of stairs to get there and I'm worried that will be too hard on my grandparents. Three of them are coming and they all have bad knees. I would really like to be outside still. What do you guys think? Should I consider the adult pool area or the lagoon? I hear you can have the reception there too and it will probably be more shielded.
  6. I'll be attempting this... We'll see how close I come!
  7. What chairs are you guys going with? I've seen the white plastic ones and the ones with chair covers in pictures. At first I wanted the chair covers, but then I found this pic of another wedding at DPA. I love the starfish with the sash. Now I'm thinking I want these chairs since it looks like it would be easier to do. What do you guys think?
  8. I'm so glad to hear you were happy with your starfish and that the shipping was reasonable. I've been looking around lately but have been put off by the shipping charges. Some sites want $30 just for S&H!!! I've looked at US Shell before. They have reasonable prices and with these good reviews I've decided to order with them. Thanks so much for the help! Here is what I'm thinking of doing with my chairs:
  9. I've been debating this too. I'm only 5'4", so my dress will look much better with heels on. Plus I LOVE high heels (the taller the better). But I will have to walk at least a little in the sand to get the the runner leading to the wedding gazebo. I've been looking for wedges and have found several cute ones but none that I love. Now I'm thinking of just forgetting being practical all together and splurging on heels. I've never tried walking in heels on the sand. Is it really that hard? Have any of you tried with any success? Or should I spare myself the embarrassment of falling on my face in front of all of my guests and go with the wedges?
  10. Wow... I'm super impressed! Those look great. Your guests are going to love them!
  11. Those hangover kits are so cute! Did you buy those travel first aid kits and just change the labels? If not, where did you get those boxes? I would really like to find something like that.
  12. Jacy wrote me back and the other menu (with 6 different set menu options) is $35 a person.
  13. So now I'm shoe shopping and I could use some advice from all of you who were married here. I really want to get some super cute heels because I'm short and I love high heels, but I'm worried I won't be able to walk on the sand. Has anyone else tried to were heels for their wedding with any success? I've read the aisle to the gazebo is where the volley ball court is usually set up and the sand should be pretty packed. Plus I'll have the carpet, so I'm hoping I won't fall on my face in the little bit of sand I will have to walk through.
  14. That sounds like what she sent me. I was just confused because it didn't have any prices. Since we will have more than 20 guests I was hoping to find something a bit cheaper so we won't have as large of a bill. If the price is still the same and its only $24-35 a person, then that will be a good savings. Every little bit helps!
  15. What did you choose for the meal? I asked Jacy for more menu options but what she sent me doesn't seem like what I've read other's have had on here.
  16. I found these cute straw bags at Target for $2.50. The lining is orange and fuchsia. One has polka dots and the other has flamingos printed on the lining. I thought they would be great for OOT bags! I'd post a picture if I could but that just seems way too complicated now.

This was my color combo, but I added brown last minute. I had a ton of photos in files and I will see if I can dig up DIY programs, menus and cake boxes. I wasn't thrilled with my flowers because I didn't get the bouquet I requested, BUT it WAS still pink and orange. LOL I used plain white cake boxes and bought a bunch of different scrap book paper. I cut them to fit the boxes and printed my monogram on a nice thick paper. Glued those on top. Really inexpensive! Sign that went next to the cake and boxes. And in action... lol Menus- Orange and fushia cardstock. Printed on the same ivory, shimmery paper as the cake boxes and secured with a brown brad just for a fun detail. Programs constructed the same way: I will try to see if I can find the template for these. Naturally the monogram can't be used, but the orange flower design at the bottom can be used if anyone is interested. Thank you tags that I attached to mini tequila bottles with rafia for the men and wrapped ribbon around pashminas for the ladies with these on top. Used a thank you stamp on the other side. Sorry no pic in action... I bought the tequila in MX and constructed in our hotel room prior to the wedding. I actually forgot the pashminas in my room so the ladies didn't get them til the day after the wedding. OOPS! See... even with years of planning things can still get messed up. Just gotta roll with it. I LOVE your programs and menus! Those are the same colors I'm doing and the border pattern actually matches my BM dresses perfectly. And to top it off my monogram is an M too. Can you send me your template so I can copy? Can you also send instructions (very detailed if possible)? I am a total retard when it comes to anything remotely crafty.
  18. Thanks for the awesome deal! I bought 50 Tylenol packets for my hangover kits for just 99cents!
  19. Hi everyone! I'm getting married at Dreams PA on 09/03/2010. I noticed some people asking about a photographer. We are bring our own photographer (a friend on mine) with us. Since we are getting the Dreams of Love package which includes a photographer Jacy said we can have to gazebo decoration with chair cover, red carpet, and floral arrangements at no extra charge. Hope that helps!

    Newbie

Hey everyone! My name is Sierra and I've already booked my wedding at Dreams Puerto Aventuras for 9-03-2010. I've been reading through this sight for a while now and have found a lot of good ideas and info. Now that I'm finally at a point where I can do some real planning I'm looking forward to picking everyone's brains!
