Just the two of us???

I have looked all over the site and kind find any other brides in my boat...is there anyone out there? What are your thoughts/suggestions? I am almost positive that my only guests are going to be my parents and my 11 year old daughter. This is our second marriage, so it was not going to be big and elaborate to begin with. But I really wish that at least my FSIL and our friends would come along... but as you know, time and money (nobody has either)!!! We are also planning an AHR. Nothing big, maybe either a cocktail party or a sit down dinner in a nice resturant. -
I don't think that is tacky at all. IMHO I think something like that is perfect!! I am still trying to decide myself. I also want to keep the cost down and I am not going to have many people - about 25 or so. So, we'll either do a heavy cocktail reception, or sit-down dinner in a nice resturant that has a private room. Not enough people for a hall

Heather, your flowers sound like they are going to be beautiful. I couldn't see the picture. I am not at the level to open the attachments yet Did you know exactly what you wanted, or did you see one of her samples and go from there? I think I better decide what I want quickly and place an order. She seems to book up so far in advance. Going dress shopping tomorrow!!! I am excited - even though I know I am not going to find that Maggie dress! But who knows, maybe I will find something else.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations! I am in the very beginning of planning an AHR. We are getting married in April, 2011. I already know that hardly anyone at all will be joining us in Turks & Caicos - besides my parents and my 11 year old daughter. (This is a second marriage for both of us). Your know, "too expensive", "vacation time", blah, blah, blah... We were originally going to have a small wedding (about 25 guests) here at home but when we saw the prices for that small amount of guests, we decided to scrap that idea and have a DW wedding. We want to have some type of party/AHR maybe a few weeks after we get back. I am just trying to decide what to do (dinner at a resturant, or a catered at home party...) My first initial thoughts were that I didn't want people to think "oh they are already married and just looking for gifts" because that is not it at all. I wanted to plan the AHR as soon after our trip as we can, basically because I don't want too much time to go by then people tend to "loose that thunder" of excitement of a just married couple. Unfortunately, maybe that is what is happening on your end. I can totally understand the planning and saving and needing the proper amount of time to make sure it is all perfect for you. But sometimes other people just don't get it, which is so unfair to you. But all that aside, I am sure your day is going to be wonderful for you and your DH. Enjoy it - no matter who is or is not there!!!

I saw a Maggie dress online and I love it. Since this is a destination wedding and my second marriage, I don't want anything too big, heavy or princess-like. I though this dress would be perfect... but I can't find it in any store in NC!!!! You know how it goes, the more difficult something is to find, the more you want it!!! Have any of you seen or tried this dress on VD9706 - by Maggie Sottero

That's what I am going to have to do. I need to make sure this style won't make my hips look bigger!!! Because you know that model wearing the dress is probably 5'9" and a size 2 LOL!!!! I am more like a 5'3 and size 6. I need to get out and try some dresses on. Are you doing real-touch for your flowers? I am looking into that now. I saw some nice arrangements by Plumeria's (but they don't take custom orders any more) and also Angel's Accents. I love the pink/orange combo. I was considering the clay flowers like Meaghan had, but I think I'll stick with the real touch.

I haven't tried on any dresses in a store yet. But I have been looking to see what style I like. I want something appropriate - taking into account that this is my second wedding, It's not going to be big and fancy and I'm hardly going to have any guests there :-( Here is a link to the dress that I love. VD9706 - by Maggie Sottero But, I called every store that carries Maggie in NC and not one of them have this dress in stock for me to try on!! I am really considering having Gianinar Bridal make the dress and just cross my fingures that I like it. They quoted me $120 + S/H (not bad at all). Love the dress, just not sure how I would look in it.

You are not being a bridezilla at all!!! I would definitely contact the seller and let her know how different it looks from the original that you wanted and how disappointed you are. I would ask her to rush you another bouquet with the colors that you wanted. This is your wedding and you should be completely happy with your flowers. After all, they will be in all your pictures. It doesn't hurt to ask her to send another boquet. Good Luck!

I know how you feel. Sounds like me two days ago! I am getting married April 14th. We are not having many people at all, so I am not stressing about the invitations. But I am stressing about the dress and planning the AHR. I thought I had so much time, then all of a sudden, time is going so quickly. Take a deep breath and just start going through your check list one thing at a time. It you look at everything at once, it is so overwhelming. Good luck. -

I need help Ladies! I found a dress that I love online, but I have no idea who the designer is (the site that I found it on is for knock-off dresses). This is my second marriage, so I really didn't want a fancy, traditional princess type of dress. I saw this one and thought it would be good for a beach wedding. Can you take a look at the link below and let me know if this looks familiar to any of you? If I can't find it anywhere, I may ask Gianinar to make it for me, but I would really would like to try it on (or something very similar) before I do that. I need help Ladies! I found a dress online that I love, but I have no idea who the designer is. I sent a copy of the dress to Gianinar to see if they could make it for me - but I really would like to find it (or something very similiar) so I can try it on first. I attached the link to see the dress. Anyone have any idea who makes this dress? Also, I wanted some opinions - This is my second marriage, so I really don't want a dress that looks too traditional and princess like. Is this a good beach dress?
