Thanks Brandy! I need to re-group and think about what to do. I know I will probably re-order another dress but I really want to get my measurements taken again (by someone else). The woman who did it last time took so many different measurements (above the waist, at the waist, below the waist... etc) I am sure something got messed up along the way. Anyway... will think about this some more after a glass of wine!

I just cant believe you had a seamtress do your measurements and sent them to the maker and they got it wrong thats just crazy! Quote:Originally Posted by Brandy Michelle!!! And if you happen to loose weight after that then you can have it taken in, but you should have the correct dress to begin with!

I don't know, maybe I should have my measurements taken again by someone else. And don't think I haven't already thought about not eating for the next several months!! I am feeling so FAT righ now. When I put on that dress I felt like 2 pounds of sausage stuffed in a one pound bag! I don't know what to do right now.

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!! Got my dress from Babyonline today and it dosen't fit!!!! I am so upset. I sent them the measurements that I had professionally taken, and the dress is like two sizes too small. I don't know what to do now!!! I was on IM with them, and we were going back and forth. First they said they will make a new one and I just have to pay S/H, then the girl said "maybe you are just too fat". I couldn't believe that! Anyway, here are some pictures. The quality was very good and they did a good job duplicating the original. But I can't fit in it unless I cut off a leg! I guess I will post this for sale. Maybe someone can use it as a TTD. I can't believe it! Just tracked my dress and it was delivered to my house at 9:00 AM this morning (sitting on my front porch). Babyonline just shipped it out on Dec. 8th. That was quick!!! And I am stuck here at work I can't wait to get home to try it on. I'll post some pictures tomorrow. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it came out great and fits!!!!

Hi Kimberlyg - I am also having a small intimate wedding - FI , my 11 year old daughter and my parents. We are also having a small AHR - so I am with you on the fact that the video has to be good! This is my second marriage, so nothing too big or fancy (been there done that). I am lucky, my parents are having my daughter stay with them in their room on the opposite side of the resort! So, lucky us... we get a honeymoon We are also using Tropical Imaging and Sheneque is doing my hair and make up. I just ordered my knock off dress from "Babyonline" and it was shipped out yesterday. I can't wait to get it!!! Good luck with everything. I can't wait to read your review and see your pictures. Michelle

2nd wedding/marriage?

I have found a dress on line that was similar to some that I have tried on and I loved it. I am having a "knock-off" made of this dress because I couldn't find the actual one where I live. I am not sure who the original designer is. The only change I am making is I am not having a train on the dress. I also felt somewhat odd shopping for a wedding dress in the bridal shops. We are in the same boat here! I am not wearing a veil either. I am just going to have a flower in my hair. -
2nd wedding/marriage?

I am so glad you started this thread!! This is a second marriage for both of us as well. We are getting married at Beaches Turks & Caicos. I have a 12 year old daughter that will very much be part of our ceremony. We plan on doing the sand ceremony (with the 3 of us) and then we are going to also do a medallion ceremony. We will present my daughter with a 3-ring necklace that symbolizes our new family. This time around is also very different for me as well. The first was 100% traditional all the way right down to the ice sculptures and the 200 guests! This time, informal, on the beach with just my parents and my daughter as our guests. -
I decided on Beaches Turks & Caicos for a few reasons. Originally I was going to have a small casual wedding here at home in NC. This is a second marriage for both of us, so it was going to be a low-key wedding. After seeing how much $$$ a small reception was going to cost us, we came to the conclusion that a destination wedding was the best option for us. I looked into cruise's and all the islands in the Carribean and so many different options. I was interested in T&C because I stopped there on a cruise once and was amazed at how beautiful the water was. So, I contacted a TA to help us out. I told her we what we decided we "HAD TO HAVE" - white sand beaches, beautiful water, all -inclusive and most importantly, it had to be kid friendly!!! (I have an 11 year old daughter). She totally sold us on Beaches!! It met all of our wants and needs. We are planning on having a casual AHR when we get back because unfortunately our friends are not going to be able to join us. As of right now, only my parents and my daughter are going to be there.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I am going to go back and look at your first dress. Actually I am trying to decide between white and ivory. I didn't really want a stark bright white, but I also didn't want a yellow tint if I picked ivory. I would love to see pictures of your new dress!! You are right, they respond almost immediately each time. I can't believe you received your dress in 18 days! That is awesome. Please post pictures of your new dress.

Bonnie - you are great! Thank you so much for your honest advice. I would like to get in touch with Babyonline and see what they say. I am a street size 6 (wedding dress size 8-10) , so I won't have a problem in that area. I am more concerned with the person making the dress to get the rouching to lay correctly. I want it tight and to lay flat. I have seen some pictures of knock off's that the rouching looked a bit loose and bunched. I was a little nervous with Monica Bridal because they sent me a response that had a link to a totally different dress and she told me it was the same price and just put in comments "dress we talked about in email" and pay through this link. I don't feel too comfortable with that. I am going to do a search on DHGate for Babyonline. Or, if you have their email, please let me know. Thanks again!!!

Thanks Brandy & Misti. I am so undecided! I have no guests except for my daughter and my parents, so STD's, invites, etc... not an issue. Wish my friend and FSIL could come, but you know that story, time and money! I guess nobody wants to go all out for you when it is your second time around either. This is all so casual and different from the first time. My first wedding was 110% traditional all the way - everything was perfect - except of course the groom! Hence, that's why I am on my second time around.

I am actually slightly considering changing my date from April to October. We can save almost $2,000 if we do that! We are currently living together and this is my second marriage, so waiting a few extra months is not big deal - BUT, my first wedding was in October and I don't know if that is bad karma???

Bonnie - you seem very knowledgable with this thread. I would like your opinion. I have finally decided on a dress. Not sure who will duplicate it best, Monica Bridal or Gianinar Bridal. They both gave me the same quote - $120. (Actually, no shipping costs with Monica Bridal). I wanted to change up the bottom of the dress slightly. Don't think I like the drapping over the skirt. Not sure who to go with, or how to explain in detail exactly what I want. Any suggestions? Bonnie
