Too funny, major artery! You can totally help me out if you want some wedding planning to do! I've got 11 months and some change according to the little lady and fella below! lol I have done NOTHING because I'm being OCD about STD's. Looked on etsy.com, thought about doing them with my BM's, and now I just can't decide altogether. I'm in Sac, which is up North. Went to SDSU and made some lifelong friends there who are no longer referred to as friends; but family! I sent your photog an email asking if he had any refferals of photogs he admires that he would suggest or recommend. I figured since he is in the industry, he's seen a few talents or two. :-) I really wanted E. Medina but we are starting to re-think how much bang for our buck we can get. I LOVE her work and was totally willing to sacrifice, but something made me step back and explore our options before we signed on the dotted line. If we do go with her, I totally want it to be a solid decision as opposed to me just falling in love with her blog and then giving me left big toe. I saw his blog and loved them!!! You were a stunning bride!!!!!!! I'm friend with Amy on FB and just sent you a friend request as well! :-) Quote: Originally Posted by KittenHeart Haha, no worries! I emailed my DH's BM who's getting married in 4 months to beg him to let me do something... I'm pretty sure the email came across as a psycho-path Where in Cali do you live? Amanda and I live literally like 3 miles away, so crazy! Wow he's booked a year in advance? Holy moly! Well maybe if things change for the other bride you could nab him up but that's crazy, I think he's getting really popular. Did you see the pictures on his blog or my FB? Hope this helps! Oh and our wedding dates are 2 days apart! Maybe we can have a shot together! ;-) We can also plan together and if we are bringing similar things like centerpieces or lanterns, we can maybe share them. What are your colors?

KittenHeart....I totally just tried to include you in my MQ, but that was my frist time doing it and somehow it failed slightly! LOL Anywho....since reading from post #1 in this thread I totally feel like I know you! It's so weird and psycho....but I just do! LOL Maybe it is the Cali girl vibe, I dunno! I spent alot of time in LA when I was in college in SD. My 3 roomates were from Whittier, San Pedro, and Long Beach.....so needless to say, I am their adopted LA sister. LOL Not to mention I met my FI at LAPD while working on a task force! Long story.....LOL Oh and BTW, I contacted your photog but he was booked during my date! :-( I want to see more of your pics if you don't mind....do you have them up on FB?? I have gotten such an immeasurable amount of love and support from these amazing woman who have never even heard my voice! I love this support system and our group of friends we've become. It's amazing thinking about you all while at my own wedding, never forgot you all and it made me smile throughout my day. I'm truly happy for each of you girls that get's married and to all you bride 2 be's, feel honored to help or give advice in any way I can <3 Getting a little mushy over here

Anyways, point being for my ramble is to second Bigbop's comment that it is so wonderful to know there is such an amazingly supportive group out there who can reassure that they too went through all this stress and ended up having fantastic weddings and made it through the stress of it all together. So THANKS!! You guys rule. I already heart the mess out of all these brides in here!!! Some of my own family has not been as encouraging and supportive of me, so it feels nice to crawl in here from time to time throughout the day and bond and connect with those feeling the same as I. We will totally rawk this out together!!!

Afternoon Ladies!!! First let me say that I'm starting to feel like I know all of you a tad now because I went back and read from post #1. Yes, you heard that right, I started at post #1 and I am now on page #647 and slowly working my way up like a turtle. My FI thinks I am totally nuts and has told me that I am officially obsessed with this thread. LOL I told him that it was a "research project" for our ceremony and that I am saving us tons of $$$ by reading through here and learning the do's and don'ts. He laughed but funny enough when I mentioned saving $$$, he left me alone. LOL So before I head back to page #647 to hopefully be caught up by the tomorrow, I just wanted to tell you where I am at...... The FI and I really did not feel comfy with our DW.com TA and so we composed a nice little "reassign us or we quit" email late last night. We got a call today and I spent 30 mins venting and whining about all the things we did not like about her. I have to be totally honest and say that it made me very uncomfortable because I felt like a tattle tell that was throwing her under the bus. :-( I didn't like her, but I just wanted to move along without busting her out. I am feeling kind of sad right now because regardless of how I felt about her, I'm sure she is probably a nice person in other scenarios and I don't want to see anyone get in trouble. :-/ Anywho, I guess there will be moments like this throughout the process. :-/ I just wanted to let you all know how phenomenal you all are!!! You guys have banded together and supportive and uplifted one another during a very stressful time! How wonderful is that to know that in times like these, mankind still has it's warmth! Even if it's over the internet!!! :-) I won't be mushy much longer....I just wanted you all to know as a newbie looking from the outside in, it is wonderful to see WOMEN being kind and warm to one another. With that said....I'm off to page #647 to finish catching up! I feel like I should get some points just for reading all those damn pages!!! LOL Have a great weekend girls!!!

In addition to the "bride and groom stay free package" I put that in quotes bc we arent really staying for free. We basically get a refund after the fact from DW.com for the lowest level room and the minimum number of nights stayed...so about $900 back. Not free but I guess I will take what I can get. I am gonnna go back and ask my TA about the free cocktail party though. Maybe she can work something out. Fingers crossed. Very interesting.......we were told that we could not have 20% off of the reception, only other "private events." I'm really frustrated with the inconsistencies. I had a minor photog fiasco too and it is all starting to leave a poor taste in my mouth. And this is just month one of planning and Q&A. :-( If you don't mind me asking, who is your DW.com TA? We are considering cancelling because I'm more frustrated with the communication or lack thereof, than a bride to be should be in month one. :-(

So, if you're interested it's worth a try. Congrats, Amy and welcome back!!! Sorry you had a psycho with no manners who couldn't pull it together. While that sounds really sad, I can guarantee you one of my BM's would have asked her, "Do you mind?" :-) I've got two BM's that are really fiesty! :-) (Hope that made you smile!) Can't wait to read your review and check out your photos!!!!!!!! I've got less than 12 months and you recent brides are keeping me sane! lol Welcome Back!

To the thefuturemrslutz: You ladies on this forum RAWK!!! I was over here starting to go insane and obsess about the most minor details, which is normally not even in my character. :-/ Last night I almost had a minor meltdown because I was reading the earlier threads and just felt dumb for booking. I talked to my FH and he told me to chill out and focus on the reason for it all. While I know he was totally right, I just want it all to be perfect for us, just as I'm sure every other lady on her does. I just appreciate the support because no one in my "non-forum" life seems to get it. The option of picking a wedding site, sit-unseen can just be plain nerve racking. Grrr..... Thank you for your support!!!

I had some questions about the photographer issue and she wasn't 100% accurate with her response and our TA had to push the question up to Fabio for a solid answer. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the reassurance, Taylorwd! I honestly think this thread is a blessing and a curse. :-) If you start reading from the beginning it is SOOOO negative. And then if you talk to ladies who have recently had ceremonies, all are happy! I think I might just need to stop reading anything prior to page #400. :-) Thank you!

Hi Ladies.... Just checking in with you to let you know that I am still here. :-) I'm just trying to catch up on my reading of the thread so that I don't ask any questions or obsess over things that have already been addressed. :-) Right now I am on page 221 but I feel like at this rate it will take me forever. Right now I am starting to feel anxious about our decision. We have less than 12 months and I don't know if I made the right choice based upon my readings thus far. When we first started this search for our wedding location, a nice beach was a high priority. Right now, I am reading comments that the beach is not blue and is very rocky. Is this true? Also is there a time of year that the beach is really blue versus brown? I'm starting to feel really naive! :-/
