elizabeth - I'm not sure what you mean by decor? We've chosen the free package, which doesn't include any decor. We may add some things, like coloured table cloths. We may bring down candles or petals or something for the tables, but we aren't going all out on decor. Hope that answers your question... dreamsmaybride - we budgeted our wedding according to what we want to pay - which isn't much! My parents have since told us they'd like to help out, and as such we might either choose more add-ons or go up a package. When we originally looked at what we wanted to spend, it made sense for us to do the free package with just a couple add-ons. We will re-evaluate things in a few months (Melani said we can change our package types at any time), but for now this makes the most sense for us. dreamsmaybride - you're getting married exactly a week after us! what time of day is your wedding? and what kind of reception are you doing?

Lol, okay okay I guess we'll keep our Star Wars date! Natalie - I double-checked and my wedding coordinator confirmed $300usd for Pastor York. I'm not sure if that includes the hotel pass or not, I'll have to find out. Regardless, our half-day passes are $55, and full-day passes are $89. So $450 does seem high, unless that includes your day pass and your hotel charges $150 for a day pass? Has anyone here used a BDW TA? I'm getting really frustrated waiting for my TA and doing all the research for her. I contacted the BDW TAs this morning...just wondering if anyone from Calgary had used them?

I think I found my BM dresses today! I only have two BMs, the dress looks great one of them, and I've asked the other to go out and try it on! Having BMs who are completely different shapes is so hard, I can't even imagine having 3+ to consider... I have to say, finding a BM dress was harder than finding my own wedding dress! I didn't want to get a traditional BM dress, but I also didn't want something black or pattern-y which is all I could seem to find in the stores. Anyway, here's what I found today at Esprit. Hopefully this'll be the one, otherwise I think I'll be buying them online.

I found my reception shoes today!!! They are Nine West, and I loooove them - the pictures hardly do them justice. The pinks and purples are so vibrant, and the heel is purple too...the pics are a bit darker. Oh well - here they are! I will be wearing platform sandals for the ceremony on the beach. The best part is, these shoes are super comfortable!

Wow, impressive Giraffe! I walked around a shopping mall for 5 hours straight today...does that count?? lol! am exhausted!

Congrats MysTea! I can't wait to read your review and see your pictures! We're getting married at DPB May 4th 2011. I can't wait!! We are doing the ceremony on the beach (5:30pm - with Pastor Rick York), followed by cocktails and a private reception in a banquet room. Right now we're doing the free package, and adding some things on. We've booked HDC for our photography, and DJ Mannia for the tunes! btw, I just want to second going to the Facebook group for DPB brides, it's been really helpful for me, esp seeing all the pictures! I can't wait until it's actually my turn to get married there!!

Natalie - I had a great time too! It's amazing how much wedding stuff there is to talk about, lol. Great about all your progress, I know it feels sooo good to get things checked off my wedding to-do list! I'm already looking forward to next month - hope more girls come out! They don't know what they're missing! Boo - sorry I have no suggestions, I don't know a whole lot about candles and tea lights. But we were thinking about doing some tea lights in these holders that have lids (kind lantern-looking). Not quite sure what we'll end up with, so definitely let us know what ends up working out for you! Ladies - I am getting married May 4th. Have any of you heard of 'May the Fourth be with you'??? Apparently this is THE day for Star Wars fans to get married!?! I had NO idea, but apparently this is the case and now I'm wishing we'd chosen the day before, lol. Would you even care? I'm sure it won't be a big deal, it's just that will be our anniversary forever...oh well. Maybe this will be something we'll always laugh about...

re: Colour I myself really like the turquoise! I don't think it will blend in too much, and you really can't go wrong with the colour at all. re: Photography We hired an outside vendor in Punta Cana - HDC Photography - because we really like their work and they are very reasonably priced. I would have loved to fly someone in, but it would be too $$$ from Calgary! re: Water bottles I can't seem to open the attachment for some reason But both colours sound nice. Maybe go for the one you want if it contrasts nicely. If clashes more than anything, then go for the matching colour.

Last night I went to another cardio class (60 minutes - x4 circuits) and boy am I feeling it in the legs and butt today! No workout tonight as it is the monthly meetup for the Calgary brides on the BDW forum! Great excuse

I know I miss the tickers too, and being able to see where people were getting married right next to their name! Ah well, I do love the new look of the site, and the wikis, reviews, etc. We meet the last Thursday of every month at 6pm at Melrose on 17th Ave SW. We've only had one meet-up so far, and there were 3 of us. It would be great to have more people, last month was a lot of fun and it was awesome chatting with other girls who are going through the same things I am with planning a DW! Hope to see a few of you tomorrow!
