Oh by the way, the pics of Mexico put a huge smile on my face, thank you Courtney. When you ask my niece who just turned 2 where she is going next week she says "MEX-CO" ....... too right girlie!! On saying that when you ask her who is getting married she says "Uncle Mike", and then when you ask her who he is marrying she responds with "ME" (as in her!!). LOL, she is too funny, but we might be fighting for my man on the day!!

JBean, I'm sorry for everything that is causing you issues, and not that I wish any of those of you, but it's good to hear others are struggling with a few things too and it's just not me, and it's quite normal for everything to not go smoothly and know other brides are stressing and it's not just me. Even though I am still overwhelemed, I am definitely feeling in a better place and I'd like to thank all your girls. I had my mini melt down and vented on here (such a huge relief to get it all off my chest) and I would like to thank all of you for you kind words of support. I still feel like there are a million things to do, and even though i'm stressed I have a better attitude ..... one at a time! This evening we did get my wedding band!! It's here at my house and I am dying to look at what Mike got engraved inside, but am resisting the urge. He doesn't know what I got engraved on his so think it's only fair I don't peak, but I am suspecting it will be our initials and date. Think I may have mentioned it on here before but not sure, on Mike's I had our wedding date and "I Love You" in Irish engraved, I really wanted something gaelic in all of this! Regarding time, I feel your pain, normal life is hectic as it is, but between ramping up gym sessions, tanning, wedding stuff, etc, ..... I have no time to sleep!! We fly Sunday morning, and the day before I have leg and eyebrow wax in morning, then haircut and highlights, then mani/pedi, so that's Saturday gone. Monday I have dentist and a few other appointments. Friday is the legal wedding. So only a few days in between to get all wrapped up. Why didn't we elope, LOL!!!! I'm sorry to hear people are sick, it's going around so bad, but be glad you have it now and not closer to your wedding date. It would suck flying with that. I agree with the other girls though, rest up now for a day or two and then get back into superwoman mode. We fly in exactly one week and 10 hours!! Our flight is at 7am which means we have to hit the road at 4am, and all I can say is AMEN that the clocks in the US change next saturday night so it's really 5am and not 4am. That extra hour will make a huge diff! Oohhhh, I love the idea of doing a one year BD shoot!! Definitely thinking back there are so many other poses I would have loved to try so it would be fun to do again now after trying it once!

Do not worry for a small second about your dress choice, yours was one of the ones that I totally loved. I also loved your legal dress, where did you get that?

Just got home not so long ago from picking up my wedding dress, and I expected to feel all this excitement butI honestly don't. Did anyone else feel the same?? Instead I am feeling so stressed and anxious. I am putting this down to some of the following : - Legal wedding is 8 days away and we still don't have my wedding band - We leave for Mexcio in 10 days and still have a million things to do - Hurricanes and rain in Mexico .... say no more on that - My best friend telling me this past Monday that she is now not going (haven't heard from her anymore by the way) - My fiance's two sister's are not speaking to each other - Every single time I look at the "show us your dress" page I question my dress and envy everyone elses - All my family are in Ireland and I got dress in US so have had no one here to advise and guide me through the fittings - I'm an older bride and have this fear of being "mutton dressed as lamb", make sense? - My fiance has MS and stress is something that absolutely triggers attacks so am trying to deal with everything by myself without burdening him - Weight .... harder to control the older I get - Family flying in from Ireland in a couple of days and house is like a pig sty with all the wedding stuff every where - My sister who is my only bridesmaid/MOH recently found out her husband was having an affair so he has been uninvited (which she wanted), but I am so worried about how hard this event must be on her, you know her marriage ending and mine starting. - EXHAUSTION! Am so tired, and because of the snow here and the rush hour traffic it took me 2+ hours in EACH direction to pick up my dress I love this forum because it's always so happy and upbeat, so I am very sorry for posting this, but I honestly think I am having a freak out.

Love your dress, it's so beautiful and I love the flower in your hair. In my opinion I love the train and wouldn't shorten it at all. Imagine more in your mind of you walk and it flowing behind you, in that picture it is not spread out and smoothed. I personally like your train! Congrats on your dress.

Taryn, love your table settings! Courtney, post that planning thread, can't wait to see!! For luggage, we are a disaster!! Mind you we are going for 3 weeks (that's my excuse to justify it anyways), so I have a suitcase full of my stuff and Mike has a duffle bag full of his, plus we now have 2 huge suitcases filled to the brim with wedding stuff. We are on the same flight as my mum and dad (who hopefully will have one bag between them), and my sister and niece (again hoping and praying they have one bag between them), so that would mean 6 people - 6 bags. JetBlue allows one bag per person anways, so the only concern is overweight charges, and trust me I reckon every bag will be overwright!! My sister is a flight attendant with an international airline that is partnered with JetBlue so I told her to flash her ID badge in the hopes it might save us any charges, LOL! Cost wise everything is spiraling out of control so I'll take the savings anywhere I can get them!! I pick up my wedding dress tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have most of the wedding stuff packed up and started packing my own vacation stuff. I have to finish a few more DIY things (but if I don't get to them I won't loose any sleep), my wedding band is in so we have to go pick that up and whilst there get my E-Ring dipped and cleaned, need to apply for marriage license, and do a few other small bits and pieces which seems to be the hardest thing to take care of all those little things. Oh and I know I've mentioned it at least a 100 times, but i have to do my music playlist!! I have a lot done on paper, now I need to spend an evening downloading all the songs from ITunes and getting them onto iPod. The house is a MESS, so need to get that organized too. My family fly in from Ireland on Tuesday so wanted to get that done Sunday and Monday, but mum just called and said she is sending dad over a few days early so he is coming Saturday. Everything is just manic!! A couple of weeks ago I saw a Groupon for 3 hours of house cleaning and I was tempted to buy it. Man am I sorry I didn't, that would have been a nice luxury!

So happy I am not the only one feeling this way!! I am having so many ups and downs!! Can't wait to be in Mexico and be with my family and friends, but the road to get there has been so bumpy. I can''t believe the actions of some of my "very best friends", and how hurt they have made me feel. I've gotten "yes" RSVPs and then a "NO" after the RSVP deadline, but this evening felt like the nail in the coffin and just bought me to tears. I called her an hour ago to say I hope it doesn't ruin our friendship (more fool me??) but she has to understand I'm upset and can't really get into it now. I really don't want this to ruin our friendship but at the same time i don't know how it can ever be the same again.

Just when I thought my evening couldn't get any worse ....... My best friend just stopped by to tell me she isn't coming to the wedding, less than 2 weeks before we leave. I'm completely gutted. Just had a little cry, made me feel a little better but still so hurt. Now I am so stressed about the weather, even though I know I have to let it go as I can't control it. Those poor brides who are there this w/e, am pulling for them that it changes course. Even if it passes before us, I would be worried about potential damage to the resort in the mean time. Oh boy, too many things to worry about!!

11 days for you!! 15 for us, my brain is still trying to absorb it! Aren't the photo share cards the cutest idea!! I've said it before and I'll say it again - thank God for this website!! My fiance knows I got his ring engraved but he doesn't know with what. I'm fresh off the boat Irish and split my time between there and US for work so I had it engraved with "I Love You" in gaelic. Also added the date. Hope he loves it! I don't want him to see it until wedding day. Ok this was a little break for me, back to packing now ...... !!

I know it's CRAZY how soon it is! I'm in full fledge excitement mode now, only 15 days before we leave. O.M.G.!!!!!! After work yesterday my colleages took me out to celebrate (Mike joined us too), and it was a great night, exhausted today, bad start to the plans for getting organized this weekend LOL, but totally worth it! We got our first wedding gifts last night too!! That was pretty cool and exciting. Feeling so real now! So Taryn, did you have legal wedding yesterday, and how did it go?? All ready for BD today? Girls I can't wrap my head around how soon everything is. Time is like in fast forward mode!!

Was that question for me? My legal wedding is 2 weeks from today, we are doing it right before we leave for Mexico. Couples massages, can't wait! It is included in our package too, haven't scheduled it yet but plan on doing it befor ethe wedding as well to relax.

I can't believe how fast the time is going, it's crazy!! I had it in my head that we had 3 weeks and 3 days left before we fly but I realized today that it's just 2 weeks and 2 days, I almost had a heart attack!! I just lost a whole week! This weekend I hope to get everything for the wedding packed up, and if ambitious enough am going to tackle all my own vaction clothes and stuff too. I hate packing to begin with so have been trying to put it off. We have a 7am flight, so need to hit the road by 4am, maybe a little earlier so I will be doing the same, everything will be loaded up the night before! We have direct flights and have private transfers meaning we won't have to stop at other resorts so should be there lovely and early. I really think i am going to be doing things right up until the night before! Thank God once we get to Mexico I have to release control and just relax!! I had a dress fitting this evening and it's going great. So far she has had to hem it, take in around hips and waist as I wanted it fitted, let out around the bust (which is weird because I am fairly small busted), add cups, and do the bussle. Now that we finalized those tonight, she just needs to sew in the sash I am adding, so I pick it up next Thursday. Can't wait to bring my baby home! It's so lovely to be able to talk to so many other lovely ladies who are in the same position as me. I love this website! Taryn are you ready for you BD shoot this w/e?

You have over 2 weeks before you leave right? And almost 3 weeks to the big day? I don't think you have anything to stress about. I would say stay out of the sun (real and beds) until all the redness is gone. Do not attempt to tan to even out what you have now. Once the redness calms down use a good exfoliator. After that take it easy on the sunbeds, do enough to give you a good base and headstart, and you'll be surprised that just a couple of days in Mexico and you'll have an amazing tan. Good luck!

Girls I feel like I have so much to worry about as is, so am focused on what I can control, there is nothing we can do to control the weather so just have to put that aside in my mind. I do believe though that lots of rain in September and October is pretty normal, and that November is supposed to be really nice without the awful muggy heat. Fingers crossed we all get perfect days! My BD book arrived today!! It is fantastic, I just hope Mike likes it too. My Publisher was great, and definitely worth paying extra for upgrades. Planning is coming along slowly but surely, I just feel like I have no time, between work, family, working out, helping other people with their questions, etc .... (plus my boss is in town for two weeks), that I havn't a second to myself. This morning I packed the stuff for our w/c into one big suitcase. Just have to finish a few name tags, and am waiting for the maracas I ordered online to arrive so I can add tags to those. I've mentioned this before, but the big task I still keep trying to avoid is the music list. I did make a start on it which is good, but still have a ways to go. Also need to select and print a photo for our sand ceremony frame (I wish we had done an engagement shoot!!) and guest book photo frame. I had a dress fitting on Thursday and I am a little stressed. Other than the hem the seamstress did nothing else. The waist and hips are pretty loose, whilst the bust area is so tight i have so much squished flab in the back!! Let me note that I am so small chested (32A,- thank God for padded bras!). so can't figure out why so tight on chest and so loose everywhere else. Anyways, she is going to let out the bust area and tailor the hips and waist some more, but the problem is that affects the flow of the skirt which equals more work which equals more money!! She's also going to add in cups (YAY!), and do the bussle. Oh and sew in a sash once we get all other alterations done. Dreading the cost. Going back next Thursday and just praying and hoping all is well. I just found out yesterday that an old work colleague of mine just took his honeymoon in the same resort we are doing our honeymoon and he showed me pictures, and I swear I am ssooooo excited. It will be so lovely to head to this adults only resort after the wedding to wind down, just us. Can't wait. Sorry for the long rant, trying not to get overwhelmed and this site is my saving grace! Off to get ready now as have friends coming for dinner (not like I don't have enough to do already!!), Have a great weekend ladies!
