So I HAD to share. I FOUND MY SHOES!!! I went on a mad hunt yesterday and ending up finding them in this little store in the mall that had a lot of club wear and high heels. Anyways, right in the front of the store they had these gorgeous teal open toe heels with bling on the front. I was looking for more of a turquoise colour but my bridesmaids dresses are more teal than turquoise so it's not a big deal, just different shades of the same colour. Best part. $20. Bonus, BOGO. So I got a pair of sexy black heels for $10. ... the one problem. Are I feared, they're a little too tall. I'm about an inch taller than FI. He really doesn't care but we're going to see if we can get some height added to his shoes (since they're completely flat, nothing on them) or maybe some insoles. If all else fails, I'll slouch a little when we're standing at the alter. Haha. And while I'm posting pics, these are my bridesmaids dresses (they look much better on and this one needs to be taken in... it's too big)

Tiera, I'm agreeing with a lot of the girls here about just adding another colour. That way you can still use what you've bought thus far and from now on just use orange as more of an accent colour. You could put green ribbon over your bouquet handle to add green to it? Or add some green flowers in with it? Your garter would be still be fine... I mean people will see it once really, right? I personally love the idea of having 3 colours. 2 main, and 1 accent. Our colours are turquoise & latte, with berry as an accent colour.

Lua, that's what I'm 99% sure I'm going to do. Just a little sucky, that's all. I wish I could do it all at once . So many of my friends have traveled and I've been the responsible one getting 2 degrees, living on my own since I was 18, you know

Oooh baby talk, I was just reading back on this mass of posts we have here and came across them. I'm torn. My mom had me young and we have such a great relationship with her I always wanted to have kids young too. Now, not as young as she did (she had me at 19), I always thought around 25 I'd want to have my first. I turn 25 a month and a half after we get married... but I also really want to go to Europe before we have babies and our good friend is planning a group trip for June 2012 when he finishes his med residency... oh choices
-
Lua, I'm sorry to hear that... I consider myself a "girlie tomboy", if that makes any sense. I can count my girlfriends on one hand. Almost every friend I have is a guy. I seriously have my sister and two good girlfriends (one of whom isn't coming to my wedding.. but that's a whole other story), that's it. I'm concerned to see what they pull together for my bachlorette party... I have 1 female co-worker now who'd come, and maybe a few others, but it's going to be a small group.

oh and the future inlaws are being super supportive. FI's family is... well... interesting... They're very refined and a tad, well, stuck up. They're great people though, just different. But they got married at the court house and have no idea what weddings involve, so they're trusting us on everything. That's great!

Ugh... I know how you ladies feel. Although I don't have real "drama", everyone is just uninterested as mocha mentioned. I honestly don't talk about the wedding that much, I actually rarely do at great lengths, it just gets brought it up in conversation and every time it does my mom & sister change the subject. My sister, who's my best friend and my MOH actually asked me "what day is the wedding again? When do we leave" yesterday. Like seriously? She hasn't offered to help with really anything besides picking out my dress and she constantly has snarky remarks when I talk about the wedding... it's like my whole family believes that because I'm doing a DW that I shouldn't plan anything, just buy my dress, go down there and get married. My mom was even shocked that I hired a photographer. So God forbid I talk about bringing decorations down with me or anything of that nature.... Even with my wedding social. I did everything. I had to send my sister home early from decorating because she was complaining about not having enough time to do her hair and get ready. OMG! OH NO! So me and the rest of the wedding party had to stay there and finish, rush back home, get ready is 20 minutes and were back at the hall. It's so incrediably frustrating! I get to do this ONCE in my life and I'd like everyone to let me have my time. When they all get married I'll be so involved they have no idea... This all may be because we're the first in our group of friends and both sides of our family (like cousins and such) to get married. You'd think everyone would be excited but they're more uninterested than anything.

Char - GREAT idea! I'm going to look into it.

Question. Any of you ladies know where I could go about getting taller rectangle PLASTIC vases? I really don't want to bring glass down with me but I have my heart set on a centerpiece...
-
Oh Lisa, those are cute. I'd really like it to me open toe if it could though... I think I'm going to do some searching this weekend

8.5 (or 8 if I need to) I'm totally doing the whiteboard idea as well. I'm bringing my Pro camera and tripod along anyways so I'm going to set it up and leave someone there to watch/handle it.

Yah, the problem I'm running into is height... all the heels are own are HIGH and FI has no problem with me being a wee bit taller, but for our wedding I'd rather not tower over him. SO I'm looking for something under 4", but all the pretty heels are 4" are more !!! That's why I was all about these ones I found, but of course they're sold out everywhere. Some of those you posted are gorgeous and I love them, but they're sooo tall. Boo.

Brandy, seeing as you've been our "resident shoe girl" for the last little while I'm begging for your help. I need these shoes. They fit all the criteria I'm looking for!! As I complained about earlier, they have to be shorter heels because FI is only 2 inches taller than me. http://www.heels.com/womens-shoes/suarey-turquoise-satin.html?utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=affiliate&utm_source=aff_id&atrack=cj Please help (anyone). Everywhere I look is sold out!

Congrats lady! I wish you the wedding of your dreams!! I can't wait for you to come back with everything you know -
Mocha - there are actually a few at le chateau (FI actually got his whole suit and shirt there) that we love but they are all between $50-$70. One of FIs GMs is super, well, cheap.... We are trying to find something a little more cost effective. I'll check wal mart... Never even considered it. Thanks! As for tradition, screw it, haha. We will be seeing each other before simply because we wouldn't have a lot of time for pics otherwise.

Mocha, I'm SO JEALOUS of your pink crinoline!!!! So pretty! January is going to be a busy month... I go for my first dress fitting on the 15th (time to get rid of this holiday weight, ughhh) "The Wonderful Wedding Show" to go to Jan.22 Go to update our registries sometime soon. Plus we need to get the groomsmen their pants... all the guys (including FI) still need ties (why is it so hard to find turquoise ties???). I NEED my shoes before my dress fitting (again, turquoise shoes... can't find anything I like). I still don't have my wedding ring... FI has his at least. Get the invites going. I'm still waiting on a call from my printers as we're doing a few test runs on different stock. ... and the list continues. On top of it all we want to start looking for a house sometime this month. Horay!

I've said it once and I'll say it again, as soon as you and your guests have got your group rate and put down deposits on your flights and vacations MAKE SURE you pay a deposit. FI and I got screwed with a double booking and because the other couple had paid a deposit already we were left out in the dust. In the end we're still having the wedding that day and it will be at 6:00, which is great (we refused 1:00 in the afternoon), since there will be 2 weddings in one day we get second choice on a LOT. OTHERWISE, welcome new brides ! Great to have you!! -
The first two are my favourites

Michelle, I have really thick hair so I don't have much experience with putting them in thin hair :S... I usually wear mine curly, curl them with my straightener and then curl my real hair as well, then pin back just the hair from the crown of my head and clip them in as close to the roots as I can, then untie it and hairspray like mad, haha! I've worn them straight too it's a little more difficult but I've heard others say they tease their hair a bit to make them stay in better, which makes sense. It's worth a try at least ! Good luck!! I'm sure they look gorgeous (and I know, it's so much fun to have ridiculously long hair, haha, it's such a girl thing !)

Merry Christmas to all you beautiful ladies out there!! Come January I know we're all going to be in full wedding mode! Can't wait!!

akua - Are we seriously getting married at the same resort AND honeymooning at the same resort? WELL, I'm going to need detailed reviews on both, haha! We both wanted to do a honeymoon but staying another week at the same resort seemed a little blah for us... we'd rather go somewhere different with no kids allowed and a little more romantic. What type of room are you staying in? We're staying in one of the villa honeymoon suites We wanted to get married earlier too, but both of FI's brothers are still in university and only finish up mid April and his family didn't seem like they'd budge on them missing school. Sigh... I want to get away from the cold Winnipeg winter already!!! -

Lisa, I'm having the same trouble with shoes! I really want so hot pink, blingy sandals that aren't TOO high. I LOVE high heels but since FI is only 2 inches taller than me and my dress is the perfect length as is I can't go higher... I'd be taller than him and my dress would be too short. Damn being tall. Haha. The issue I'm having is all the cutest shoes are the tallest... the ones with shorter heels are blah.
