Yay finally another Denver Bride!! Well we're getting married at Now Jade which is in Puerto Morelos, about 10 minutes from Playa del Carmen. Our colors are red and orange, and we're not doing favors really because we're doing OOT bags for all the guests...and we can only bring down so much stuff. We got water bottles, sunscreen, lip balm, advil, tums, can koozies, and these beach scented yankee candles that we're going to put in the bags along with a welcome book and schedule of events. We have no idea how many people are coming yet. At first like 80 people said they'd come but a lot of people can't put their money where there mouth is and book the trip...so i think it'll be closer to 50. I think we have 40 booked so far. Â Have you made any plans yet?

I sent an email to Ana a few days ago...the first since I got switched from Pilar...and haven't heard back yet. But Pilar promised a little swap so I hope Ana honors that!

I still havent tried communicating with Ana since Pilar told me Ana's taking over my wedding. Pilar told me my reception could be 4 hours...mine is 7-11. I'm paying the extra 2 hours for the DJ, so I dont know how they could cut it short. Â

Wait, you are sending out invites already? I was thinking January. I sent out STDs and have all the info on our website (we already have 20+ booked) but I thought it was too early to send formal invites.

After about 4 times of persistently asking, I finally got Pilar to say I can swap the officiant for 3 extra centerpieces. I think they must just have a policy to say no at first, but then they give in?? I'm not sure but keep asking. Of course I'll probably have to start all over now that I got switched from Pilar to Ana!!

I just read all 24 pages of this thread and I am still confused!! I loved so many of the pictures and posts on here but I still have my heart set on wearing my hair down. My hair is super straight and can't hold a curl no matter how much hair spray is used...and i have never had an updo that i liked on me. They just make me look like someone other than myself. And I dont want to feel that way on my wedding day. But I also dont want my hair blowing in my face during my ceremony. Ahhh!

I would love to wear my hair down and have it look much more casual, but I am worried about the wind too. And my hair is so straight it can't even hold a curl 5 minutes.

Also, did anyone else notice the table sizes in the pictures of the bamboo room? They are small tables with 4 chairs. Is that what we'll have for the reception? That could be an issue with centerpieces!

Tracy, you probably mentioned this before, but are you using the resort's DJ? I'm most curious about how the DJ handles the reception...introducing the wedding party, and the doing the different dances, cutting the cake, etc. I think in the one review out there for Now Jade, the bride said the DJ didn't do any of those announcements.
