I've been super busy at work lately so I haven't been logging on and I have missed a lot! Only 89 days until we leave...yay! We've had a couple guests back out recently, which surprised me, but at least my bill goes down I'm trying to be positive. I picked up my dress on Sunday...just need one more small alteration to shorten the straps. I just ordered my chair sashes (too many now that guests have backed out) and I'm planning to send out my final invites next week. I am so excited. I think the only things left on my to-do are to write the ceremony, create a wedding program, and then do welcome books. I'm probably missing things, but thats the major things.

Hilla, I am doing a beach ceremony in May. We are doing the reception inside though. I am surprised I havent heard more brides doing weddings on the beach...but I can't wait. It'll probably be hot in both May and August but I'm sure there will be a breeze from the water.

We have an uneven wedding party too. My FI insisted on asking 6 friends be groomsman, and I only have 4 BMs. I'm not too concerned though. We're paying for our wedding party's trips so I refuse to ask more people just too make the wedding party even. We can't afford it!

Our guests would love to play bags too, but i dont think i'd want the hassel of bringing them down. The hotel should buy them as an activity for guests! I wonder if they even sell that game down in Mexico.

Michelle thanks so much for the review! How did you get all of the decorations down there? Did you bring them all in suitcases? We have OOT bags and goodies for 50+ guests, string lights, sand ceremony vases and sand and our own centerpieces and i am so worried about how im going to get it all down. I want to get chair bows too but i think im being unrealistic about space in our bags.

Meg, I am going with the resort DJ and photographer but I wasn't on planning on paying for their dinner. I really don't know how that's supposed to work.

I can only speak to the swaps, and they will not let you swap anything from the packages anymore.

Jenn, my one cousin who's a BM and my aunt and uncle bought their flights from Philly back in August and they paid $475. I thought they were crazy b/c I thought for sure the prices would go down. Now they look like the smart ones. I think we'll wait until about the end of Jan, beginning of Feb too and then just bite the bullet. Let's just hope they don't go higher than they are!

I am having such issues with flights. I'm flying from Denver, which are about $480 RT now, and my whole family is coming from Philadelphia which is close to $600 RT now. Its soo expensive! I know we're going to lose guests because of the prices. Most of our guests are only coming for 3 days so it wont be worth it if the flights are that much. I really didnt think they'd be over $400. I guess i was living in a fantasy land.

Well I just got bad news from Ana this week. Our wedding is May 6th, so most of our guests/wedding party are coming the 5th through the 8th or the 9th. Well since the 5th is cinco de mayo, Ana is not working the holiday, so we can not do a rehearsal. And our guests already booked and we cant ask them to come earlier and pay extra days. So i guess no rehearsal for us I am hoping the resort is doing some kind of celebration for cinco de mayo though so at least we can have some entertainment.

Recent brides, do you mind if i ask how much you tipped the vendors/wcs? I just have no idea how much to budget for that.

snl, lisa posted something about the table sizes back in october...around page 80 in this thread. She said the round ones are 6ft. I'm glad to see im not the only one having trouble with Ana...i emailed her 2 weeks ago and still no response.
