  1. Hi Guys, Â We are getting married at Las Caletas and staying at the Westin PV. Now it's time to pick the honeymoon spot and it's between Dreams and Grand Velas....any opinions or suggestions? Thanks!
  2. Just bought my dress yesterday and I am in love. It's San Patrick Eresma. I brought in the picture of it to two different bridal salons that carried San Patrick but they didn't have it, just something similar (Pronovias Hebra and San Patrick Epico). I was very happy with these two but the things I would have wanted to add or change to it, it seemed like the Eresma had the mix what I liked the most with no extra alterations. I went on vacation to Colorado and Boston right after and looked for the Eresma there but no where to be found. The day before I was just going to buy one of the similar ones I got an email from another bridal salon in Houston that the dress just came in two days before, I went that day and tried it on and bought it on the spot! Glad I waited!! Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
  3. I just received my vintage postcard save the dates from Ginger. They are awesome, perfect, and she was real easy to work with and very prompt! I had seen some on the forum that I loved and she gave me four different designs to choose from. We discussed colors and when I had picked the final design and I paid the rest that was due, she was finished within a day or two and shipped them right out. I paid a little more for the shimmery cardstock but it looks SO good in person! These are the designs (sorry for the blacked out part but I don't want to put our address and website all over the web ) I also got recycled paper envelopes with our address and Save The Date on it.
  4. We are going to probably have this at our wedding, in fact, the picture you found is at Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta and that is where we are getting married, so that will probably be the ringbearer! ha. We are not having any kids at our wedding so no ringbearers or flower girls, might as well have the parrot!! A snowy owl sounds cool! Let us know how it goes!
  5. okay, I guess I am out of the loop, but what is a Jack and Jill or a stag and doe??
  6. Thanks! I tend to sweat a lot ha so I think this is an important issue for me! Good to hear since my dress will be a lot of material also.
  7. Congratulations! Wow, I loved your slideshow! Such a beautiful wedding and couple! And you got married on my birthday!! We are getting married at Las Caletas on May 29, 2011 and I was wondering how hot was it for you in the suit? I have only been in PV at the end of July and we were sweating our butts off, even being from Houston!
  8. okay well I guess no one had anything to say but we decided on the Westin!
  9. I am having a lot of trouble deciding which hotel we with our guests should stay at since I have not seen them in person. Our wedding is at Las Caletas so we will not be getting married at the hotel. We want to be close in town and Dreams is more than we want our guests to pay. A lot of our people have said they do not want an all inclusive. Fiance and I want a Dreams like resort for our honeymoon out of town, but in town for the wedding. I have looked throughout the forum and all over the internet but it's hard to tell. I trust you guys more than some of the reviews on trip advisor! If any one stayed at one of these please let me know!! Marina area: Marriot vs Westin: What are the beaches like here? Rocky? Do they have the timeshare people bugging you? How far are you really from downtown? Rooms: look beautiful and modern on their websites but other pictures seem outdated. Hotel Zone: Fiesta Americana: Is it nice? What's the beach like in front of it? rocky? timeshare people? etc. location and proximity to downtown? rooms/hotel nice? looks okay from online pictures if all inclusive how is the food? they do not allow outside food or drink? Buenaventura: how is the pool and general hotel rooms/niceness etc? if all inclusive, how is the food? how is the beach in front? I hear it's close to the malecon, is this true? If you have anything else that might help with our decision, I would appreciate it sooooo much!! Time is ticking and I am so indecisive ! I did try on wedding dresses yesterday though and that was fun!!!
  10. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! So pretty! My favorite colors and the cake is beautiful and so are you! Was it hot in May? We are getting married on May 29, 2011. I am from Houston so I am used to miserable humidity but I am also used to staying in air conditioning and not running around in a wedding dress ha!
  11. OMG I wish I had seen this sooner since this is one of my favorite topics!!! I started wearing strip lashes when I was 17 years old up until 23 when I graduated from grad school and got a job. (I am 26 now) Then I got lash extensions up until recently I was going about every two weeks to get them refilled (it is a big investment but worth it to me because there is no funky strip lash falling off cause of humidity and you can shower, swim, and get ready quicker in the morning. I got compliments daily and people thought they were real). LOVED LOVED LOVED them until I got so busy that I didn't get to my refill appt and I decided why don't I see what my natural lashes look like since its been about a decade.....I have been to three different lash extension places in my "lash" career and the second lady I was going to for a while-I am pretty sure she CUT my lashes!!!! I could feel some snipping at times and the way they looked it was cut straight across! I felt so violated!! So I wanted to let them grow out and wear strip lashes in the meantime....but I am now going to bite the expensive bullet and get a full set again. Anyway- for strip lashes go to Sallys Beauty Supply, the usually have a huge selection of Ardell and Andrea and they have a booklet making suggestions for your eye shape and if you want natural, glamour, or run way model like. Duo eyelash glue is the best but the Ardell kind is fine too. Put them up to your eye and you can snip like the last two lashes off each if its too long for your eye so it looks more natural. I put a spot on glue on a surface, take the ends of closed tweezers, dip a small amount and put an even thin amount of glue on the strip. Pinch the inside with the index and thumb of one hand and the outside with the index and thumb of another. Line it up along your lash line and put on, making sure that it lines up correctly. Keep eyes closed and press and the inner and outer corners and also take your index above the lash strip and thumb below the lash strip and press along the lashes. Fan dry with your hand then open. Brush up the lash with your index finger or a clean mascara wand. Suggestions for eyelash extensions: go to Sally's, again, ha, and get mascara wands. After you shower immediately brush the lashes and blast warm air from your hairdryer....will make them last longer and look prettier, kindof like blow drying your hair ha. Research who you are going to and what glue they are using on your eyes....the "cutter" started using cheaper glue so we would have to come back sooner since the lashes fell out sooner. read this: Our glue is medical grade, specially made in the USA for use in sutureless stitches. Many other salons use inexpensive glue bought overseas. This unregulated product is used in automotive repair, not meant for skin and can cause a reaction requiring removal of lashes. use oil free moisturizer and make up remover-oil builds up and breaks down the adhesive I would avoid using any mascara unless you are spacing too far inbetween refills and need to make them look more together....use non water proof mascara if you do... Sorry, I am not crazy, I just love lashes!!
  12. How did the Westin turn out for you Jaime? Did you stay there for your wedding?
  13. I live in the same area too, in fact I was a member at Houston Gym for years, lived 3 doors down from it. I moved 2 minutes away off Washington. We are getting married at Las Caletas Puerto Vallarta May 29,2011.

We did the Outdoor Adventure with Vallarta Adventures, went scuba diving with Chico's Dive Shop and took some "engagement" photos with Eva and Toms at Photo Shoots in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (VERY affordable- $180 for one hour, $250 for two hours). We intentionally didn't go to Las Caletas because we wanted to save that for our wedding day! I can't wait to go back 5 months for our wedding! ~Jaime That sounds awesome, let us know how the photos turn out! How was Doña Susana? Was it on the beach? Did you get to go to Playa Los Arcos also?
  17. I don't know if this question ever got answered, but Kelley told me that in order to go out in the morning: "Then, the package includes for you and 4 girls to go out in the morning. Any extra girls have an additional cost of $76.50 per person. Spa prices are $25 usd for a half an hour massage and $50 usd for an hour massage." My wedding is 5/29/11, so if it is around that time maybe it will be the same price.
  18. thanks I am having a hard time figuring out what to do about lodging. I get the feeling from a lot of guests my age that they don't care how "crappy" it is where they stay as long as it is cheap, and then other guests that money is no issue.
