  1. I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly where in BK other than that this was in the "dumbo section" of Brooklyn. Anyone who knows Brooklyn (I'm jersey girl haha) will know where that is... The view here is of the BK bridge and Manhattan and it is beautiful! You can also, however, go to Frank Sinatra Park in Hoboken, NJ and/or Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ. Those areas give you amaaaazing views of downtown Manhattan.
  2. LOVE your TTD pictures!! The clouds in the shots are amazing!! Where were these taken?? You were a gorgeous bride!
  3. We've only seen a few so far, but these were taken this weekend by our dear friend & amazing photographer in Brooklyn, NY. We will be having a 2nd shoot and I can't wait. These were soo much fun!
  4. Erica: I'm going through the same - since we got engaged and are getting married with only about 7 months in between, we rushed to get the Save the Dates out as far out in advance as we could! We sent them out not too long ago and listed only resort information & our wedding website. People have since then, started booking! Although I'm happy with this of course, at the same time, like you, I feel like what's the point for the invite & RSVP card ya know? Either way, we are going to be sending out invitations as well because it is something we will want as a keepsake and because we would like to try to keep it as 'traditional' as possible! It's totally up to you though! We plan on getting our invites out at the latest, middle of November... we're getting married in May. I've seen that some Save the Dates go out a year in advance, invites like 6 months in advance... whatever your timeline is though is totally up to you!
  5. Thank you!! Karen, I love custom work but you can find lots of nice stuff everywhere! Try etsy! I'm addicted!
  6. Thanks everyone - we loved the vintage feel of the postcards & the whole actual 'postcard' idea!! Not to mention, the quality is amazing as well! So far, everyone has LOVED them!!
  7. I wanted something cute and funny but yet sentimental - my Maid of honor will be my sister and my bridesmaid will be my future sister-in-law. These were made with lots of love, and I hope they put a smile on their faces once they receive them in the mail Credit goes to the following link: http://www.oncewed.com/16446/wedding-blog/diy-wedding/diy-bridesmaids-cards/
  8. We are booked with Samuel Luna for May 2011!! I can't wait to see your pictures ladies!! I know they are going to be phenomenal
  9. Love the pics! This is where we will be going this Sunday (weather permitting!!)
  10. Worked with Ginger (beyonddesign on etsy) for our adorable Save the Dates! Can't see it here but they are on a metallic/shimmer cardstock.. so pretty
  11. Welcome!! I'm new here as well, and also a May 2011 Bride... Happy Planning!!!
  12. I'm doing the same!! This is what I got from Wilma: The length is 12 mts by 70 cm
  13. I couldn't agree with you more about the bouquets! I'm totally leaning towards Real Touch Flowers as well! I think i'd just feel a lot more secure knowing exactly what I'm going to be carrying in vs. picking a few days before!! I'm really picky about stuff like that and am nervous that I won't like what the resort offers or something (although I have seen PDFs) but still! That arrangement is beautiful! What website is that from?
  14. Those shoes are hotttttt girl Where did you find them? I'll be starting wedding dress shopping next week!!! Totally freaking out about that! haha.. Where are you ordering the chair sashes from and are you going to be making your own centerpieces? I definitely will be!
  15. Skadow: Seems like you are all set!!! I'll prob get fidgety too once I have everything pretty much done! I contacted JSAV as well for audio equipment, just nervous about not having an actual DJ (although from what I'm reading are EXTREMELY pricey in MX!!)... because if you just book the audio equipment the provide, how do they do the actual announcements? You know? I actually asked my TA about the double resort dollars today! I didn't think of doing that! Silly us were just thinking about staying on the Cove Side the entire time! I reached out to Fernando for pricing and have not heard back from him yet - I also reached out to Norma Zurama and heard back from her, but would like to be able to compare with Fernando's prices! Can you share that info with me? Also for the wedding ceremony, which musician did you pick? I'm leaning towards harpist I think Haha that's so funny!! I'm still debating to be honest!! I think Thomas likes the orange combo better than the raspberry but I don't know! Was thinking of purchasing dark teal linens and accenting with orange/peachy flowers.. what are your ideas?
