    Okay ladies, I reached out to Loni Jones this morning and she replied that just for me, no wedding party, makeup would be $250. Now obviously this is not a service that I seek out on a regular basis, but does this seem high? I like her work a little better that the pic provided by a few of the other ladies but I'm just wondering what I should expect to pay. Any insight would be helpful.     Islandgirl910, we sent out STD's late May/early June. I wanted to give everyone a solid year to plan. I included the TA's info and many people did contact her for info. I plan to send out the formal invites within the next 2-3 weeks (before the middle of Jan) and ask for an RSVP of April 1, giving us a full 6 weeks to know who is coming. I am sure there may be some laggers but we already have a pretty good idea just based on talking to folks.

    I only have 50 invitations out (expecting 25-30) but I made it clear that my agent would match any deal they found. The agent also has a payment plan, which you will not get on Expedia, etc so that is also a big plus. I took time to search and be sure the agent we chose could offer us the best deal. I decided against giving people the option to stay @ the Beach. By the time they pay for the 1-day pass, they likely could have just stayed @ the Suites. Plus I think they would regret not being with the others @ the Suites.

    Hey Nemmerz. I first suggest you go and try on dresses for style and what works for you. Tons of brides have their eye on dresses and when they try them on they see that its not what they expected. I know there are a lot of brides on here that have had great experiences with ordering gowns online. I say its worth a shot. Also search and visit the huge "knock-off wedding dress" thread on here. It was a great help to me.

    Islandgirl910, I suggest you speak with an agent about the cost of the rooms first. That seems really high and I am almost sure they would be able to get you a better rate. It pays to shop around. I am staying oceanfront for just under $200 a night. I was going to give folks the option of staying elsewhere but I decided against it. By the time they pay the fee to come onto the resort, they could have easily stayed there.

    airfarewatchdog.com is also another site to watch flights. They send emails when the prices drop or there is a sale.

    Hey ladies. I've been in denial for far too long. I have gained about 15lbs over the past two years and I believe (not certain) that it is due to birth control. (I plan to stop taking in March) With a May wedding quickly approaching, I need to focus on my tummy and arms. I already have dress and it looks great but I must also consider that I will be in a swimsuit daily for almost 2 weeks! Suggestions on how I can get it together are appreciated.

    I am getting married there as well. I have not been to the resort to see the stylist there but Lisa on this site did a review and said it was a decent experience. I am not sure about short hair though. Perhaps you can contact the salon and ask then if they can send you a sample of work they've done. Its worth a try.

    As an FYI, I contacted Nicole and she told me that if a vendor is only coming for make-up/hair and leave, there is not vendor fee. However, if they stay there for the wedding there will be a charge.

    Congrats on your engaegement and welcome to the site. As an FYI, Nicole is a very busy lady and does take some time to get back with you. The forum is a great help and you will find tons of info here. I have not yet visited the Suites and do not plan to do so. I was able to pick my resort simply based on what I had read here and the consistentcy of ratings online. I am confident that I have made the right choice. Happy planning to you!

    I provided them pics of the Davids P9345 and Mikaella 1406. I wanted the bottom to be more subtle and not so much of the poofy gathering (not sure what you call that). I had to have the sweetheart neckline. I think they nailed it! I plan to put a belt with it!

    Gianinar completed my dress and sent me the pics. It came out better than I expected and I can't wait to get it. They were very easy to work with and I would recommend them to anyone.

    Am I correct in understanding that when an email states "1 free tote", you have to submit several orders to get the number you want? If so, do you pay seperate shipping for them all? I just want to be clear on this as I may have to reach out to family/friends for assistance on these orders.

    I am glad to see this post. I too was looking at an amy michelson last night. Gianinar is in the process of fininshing a dress I ordered now and so far so good. I was wondering if they would be able to replicate the back criss-cross detail and this answered my question. Thanks for the post. BTW, the dress that is being made now is my 2nd and I was still looking last night. Who knew that would be the largest part of my budget so far?

    I asked becuase she said she would be willing to return and do my TTD the day after...no stay over.

    I like the look but I am not sure that they wont turn. The inside of the ones I've seen are still round so I assume they will still turn.

    Welcome. The Jamaica thread is very helpful. I am getting married @ Iberostar Rose Hall Suites in Montego Bay. I picked it based on the ratings and the proximity to the airport. Check it out!

    We are in the same boat and I struggle with the same question of it being tacky. Based on what I have read here and on other sites, I have decided to not create an actual registry and not mention anything on the invitation. I have read that given the small size of our wedding guest list, we will simply use word of mouth. If people as our closet family and friends, we will simply have them say that we are accepting cash gifts and NO TOASTERS! Lol!
